How do I get my music back after the 5.0 update?

I was told by a friend that after the update, my music would be put back on. I have almost all of my 64 gig ipod 4th generation filled up, and now it's gone and i cannot figure out how to get it back. IS it possible to get it back? I do nort have all of the original songs on one computer.

Sync the music to the iphone.

I updated my phone without a problem however when I updated my mom's phone it didn't work out so great! Everytime I plugg it in it tells me that there are items that need to be transfered to the computer and somehow lost all of the music in the "music feature" on her phone. How do I get my account back after 10.4.10 update?

After I updated my intel mini to 10.4.10 it now starts up to a virgin account instead of mine. I can see my music, photos and desktop are still present on the HD. How can I get my account back?

I have gone in to Prefs/accts and my password unlocks the lock. The only startup option is my acct, Steve. When the mini actually starts up it uses an acct with a little house next to it, miniwalker. This is the lower of the names shown on my account. If I open my HD/users I see miniwalker with the house icon and Steve with the folder icon. My music, photos, desktop and documents are all in Steve while miniwalker contains empty default files.

File Library Organize Library Reorganize files Now can't locate music. How do I get my music back in the playlists. Still all in folders in music file?? HELP!

I recently downloaded iTunes 10, found my library and things looked great..........UNTIL.....I clicked on the reorganize files box in the 'Organize Library' window. Have new PC now. Saved all folders from old PC HDD. Will install iTunes 7.6 on new PC but how should I get my music back from the old PC's HDD? My iPod contains music purchased from iTunes, plus music from alot of CD's I own. WOuld like to recover music from my old HDD rather than synching from iPod (which I don't know how to do anyway!)

Yes, just delete the duplicates but make sure to keep at least one copy!

The most efficacious way to get your music and other personal data onto your new Mac is to restore it from the backup you made of your old computer. Once that is done you can re-enable iTM on the new Mac and your iPhone.

Go to iTunea>Preferences>Devices and see if there is a backupright at the time you did the update. Then try restoring from that backup. If the apps are in your iTunes library, any app data will be restored to the iPod.
When restoring from an iOS 4 (or later) backup, if the device had a passcode set, iTunes will ask if you want to set a passcode (and remind you that you had protected your device with a passcode). iTunes will not ask you to set a passcode when restoring from iOS 3.x and prior backups.
Therefore, remembe the passcode that you enter this time.
It appears that if you restore from a backup, that backup is not subseqyently overwritten by the next backup.
