I want to get all my old pictures off my ipod however my touch screen is broken. I cant reset my ipod because my power button is also broken. is there anyway I can get my psscode off without using either of those? I know the passcode

If when you connect the iPod to your computer you get a message that says enter the iPod's passcode then you can try having a company replace the screen. However, sometimes the iPod gets erased.
You can try replacing the screen yourself too:
iPod Touch Repair – iFixit
Also, a data recovery place can likely do it. However, that will likely cost more than having somebody replace the screen

You do make backups of your hard drive, right?

There's many ways. If you search the forums, you'll find dozens of solutions. You can use the search box in the upper right portion of the discussions website.
Other wise what's the point of the ** thing.
It's an audio player... not a backup device.
If you rely on your iPod as a backup of your music.. then you are misusing the device. It's not intended to be used in this manner. Apple makes it difficult to get music off the iPod as a method to hinder music piracy.

For photos synced from your computer ( photo library pics) you don't. The photo sync is one way - computer to ipod.
You need to move the pics from your old computer or your backup copy of the old computer. You could e-mail them to yourself. They will not be of the original resolution.
For pics taken with ipod ( Camera Roll Pics), then you import them as you would from any digital camera.

If you do not know the password there is no way of getting it from the iPod. Sorry. You might want to make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since yu may have a hardware problem with your iPod.

You need to copy everything from your old computer, or your backup copy of your old computer, to the new one.
The music sync is one way - computer to ipod. The exception being itunes purchases: File>Transfer Purchases

There are several ways you can pull the music off your iPod and onto iTunes. The first link below provides step-by-step instructions for the direct method if you have a PC as well as a few third party applications (for both the Mac and PC) if you choose to go that route instead. You can also do a simple Google search for "copy music from iPod to computer" and you should receive a number of sites that can help you out.
Just make sure that when you have your iPod plugged into your computer, that you don't hit "Erase and Sync" before completing the task of copying your music over.
Also, if you have any purchased music, you will probably have to re-authorize your computer by heading to the Store drop down menu and choosing "Authorize computer."
