How do I get my printer settings back?

This is my first Mac, and it's a laptop. After a week of trying, then research on the web, I finally figured out how to format my desktop PC (which my printer is hooked up to via USB) and this Mac to print from the Mac. It worked for one day, then I did something and messed up the settings and cannot get them back. This is the problem:
In system preferences, when you get to the fax and print, I had to go through the top where it says Default, fax, IP, Windows, bluetooth, appletalk, etc. The only way I was able to get my printer to work was to go into the "windows" menu. I was able to see the workgroup name set on my desktop,which led me to see my computer name, set on my desktop, which then led me to see my printer name, set on my desktop. Now, I can't get that "windows" preference to open. So adding my printer ANY OTHER WAY, and I have tried them all, is not working. I need to be able to get back into that one preference, be able to see an add all those names, and add it that way. Does anyone know a way to do that?

Input the following settings:
Interface: VPN
VPN Type: Cisco IPSec
Service Name: This can be anything, I left the default.
Edit the new interface details as follows:
Server Address: cisco.vpntraffic.com or other country vpn such as norway VPN
Account Name: Your vpn account
Password: Your vpn password

Just to give you a bit more detail. I upgraded my iphone 4 to an iphone 5 today. Last night I backed up and synced all my messages, photos and contacts on itunes and icloud. When I connected the new iphone 5 to itunes today, it somehow reverted back to my old phone settings from 2011 :S So now, I have apps, particularly games, that are incomplete. My contacts have numbers that are out of date and I have none of the photos that were taken in the past year. My 2012 messages are gone and old messages from 2011 are there. Now, all my phone data had been regularly stored and synced with itunes and icloud. So why did it revert back to 2011 phone settings and how can I get it to change to the settings that existed last night? Also all my information on icloud, how do I get that onto my new iphone? If I go on www.icloud.com and sign in, all my photos, contacts, mail and messages are there, but I have no idea how to transfer that to my new iphone 5. Any help on all of these issues would be appreciated, thanks.

In Regards to this, You possibly wont be able to get the contacts from the iPhone 4 unless there is a back up file on your computer.
The original phone would be disabled due to alot of attempts of the wrong passcode. If all your contacts are on the cloud at the moment, you would be able to just set the iPhone 4S up with iCloud on it then Turn On "Contacts".
This would be bring all the contacts down from your iCloud onto your 4S.
But you will only be able to merge your contacts with the cloud when your original iPhone either has been enabled or the passcode was entered.
If you have previously already had iCloud on that device and have contacts Turned on, you will be able to just enter the same Apple ID you used for iCLoud on your original phone and use it on your new one.
Your able to check what content your iCloud holds via www.icloud.com
If you are unable to get past the disabled screen, then unfortunately the device will have to be put into recovery mode and then restored via iTunes NOTE: This will delete all data.

How can I get Normal video settings back

Before I launch into describing the problem, I thought I would tell you that I really had hoped it would have been a common problem, and therefore went through about 12 pages of topics and problems before I decided to open a new topic. The closest thing I found was from someone who apparently experienced part of my problem - a shifting of the screen.
What I really need to know in lieu of a specific solution to the specific problem is to know how to get back to Default settings for monitor display. Something I did screwed things up. I am not even sure precisely what I did to mess it up, because I actually did several things that could have contributed. But, the end result of what I did was that my screen font display looks wierd, and not normal. I have an ATI video card, and I hit Detect display, so it flashed off and then back on. What is the setting that the display is normally set on. I have tried various solutions, but can't seem to get back to where it once was. I would presume that a reinstall of OS X would do the trick but that seems too radical of a solutioni. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

You didn't say what display you are using.
Try a new user account. Everything will be at default in the new account.

How do I get my personal Settings Back In Firefox

About 2 days ago I launched Firefox and all of my personal settings were gone.
Personal settings like "Personal Theme #44 and icons in the toolbar: "New Tab",
"New Window".
Is there a way to get these setting back the way I had them without re-configuring
them all?

Everything is gone after the update, there are no apps on the ipod, neither on or in itunes

That happens when you do the update on a computer when the apps and media (e.g., music) are not in the iTunes library.
You need to go to the computer with the pass and media and restore from the last backup you have on the computer.
You can also redownload most iTunes purchases by:

How can I get my sound settings back to where they were initially. I lost my default device somehow.

I was trying to listen to my music via my Bluetooth Bose speaker and I could not make that work. I went to Control Panel>Sound>Playback, and chose my default device, selected Properties, then Don't Use This Device, at which time my default device disappeared and all of the sound from my computer stopped. This one issue is probably the one thing that would make me abandon Firefox FOREVER (besides the problems with Flash). If I change print settings for ONE COPY I have nothing but HELL trying to get my print settings BACK to my PRINTER defaults. Why can't Firefox be like the REST of the computer world and have the PRINTER DEFAULTS override Firefox?????

It used to show up whenever I would print something, now it doesn't and I have no idea how much ink is left in the cartridges. I have a HP Photosmart C4180 All in One Printer. Open the Printer Toolbox . There are two ways to do this:
Open HP Solution Center , select the Settings menu, then the Print Settings submenu, and finally the Printer Toolbox .
Open Printers and Faxes in the Windows Control Panel , then right-click your printer icon and choose Properties . Click Printing Preferences . Click the Features tab, then click the Printer Services button.
The Printer Toolbox opens. Click the Estimated Ink Level tab. A cartridge may be running out of ink even if the graphic shows ink remaining (see the note at the start of this section). Lines or streaks always appear in printouts when the cartridges begin to run out of ink. Replace print cartridges that are out of ink or low on ink.

You can clear the iPad and start again with the other account> Settings->General->Reset->Erase all Content & Settings
Or you can go to Settings->Itunes and App Stores->Apple ID->Sign Out,
And Then Sign in with the other account. You can then download the Apps with that account. Though you may block the other account for 90 days.
Your best bet is to set it up again using the orighinal account it had, so you can get their Apps back. without affecting your account.

Attempting to use it, the program informed me that I needed to be using, either, an EI or a Firefox Browser mentioning version 1.5 {I think it was} or later. The Firefox browser I was using was 3.something; so, everything was going along FINE. When I installed the video capture program, it added the plugin to the browser ~ PERFECTLY!!! I, also, had MANY other plugins that worked and that I used somewhat regularly!!! NOT ANY MORE!!! YOU and your TOTALLY INEPT, WISHTHEYWUZ "PROGRAMMERS" have STOLEN nearly HALF of my COMPUTER!!! Yes, that's correct, it won't affect your account or your devices in any way.
Use the delete account button in the iCloud settings.
Then enter her iCloud details in the new screen that appears and log in. She should then be returned to the screen above but with her Apple ID at the top, enable the services she wishes to use and then tap the storage & backup option and ensure that iCloud backup is turned on.

The scanner function is available through the bundled software that comes with the printer. Since you have Windows 8, you probably needed to download the drivers from our website. You can download the scanning software, MP Navigator, from our website. I will include instructions to download below.
Please perform the following to download the software from our website:
1. Visit Canon's web site at:
http://www.canontechsupport.com
2. Click on SUPPORT & DRIVERS. On the Support & Drivers page, select your model in the following manner:
      a. From the first menu, select PRINTERS & MULTIFUNCTIONS.
    b. From the second menu, select PIXMA MX SERIES.
     c. From the third menu, click DRIVERS & SOFTWARE beside the PIXMA MX420.
3. Select Windows using the drop down menu SELECT OPERATING SYSTEM VERSION, then select your version of Windows 8 using the SELECT OS VERSION drop down box.
4. Click SOFTWARE.
5. Click on MP Navigator EX.
6. Instructions for completing the download and installation will appear on the page that follows. You will also see a disclaimer at the bottom. Review the disclaimer, and click I AGREE - BEGIN DOWNLOAD.
7. Once the download is complete, double click on the downloaded file to start the installation. Follow the onscreen instructions to install.
