The otterbox is one of the culprits. Take the phone out of the case and see if it still happens. If so it is not the case. If the problem goes away, then you may need to make the hole slightly larger. My family has three iPhone 4's in otterboxes and none have this problem. When I make phone calls people on the other end have difficulty hearing me. They describe as they can hardly hear me as if I was speaking through the pillow etc). I am not touching any buttons and obviously it is not mute. This was happening couple of time in June, then every now and then. Recently it happened a few time in 2 weeks. I was trying to check if it was a reception issue but the place I spoke from is my office I make 70% of phone calls from. Can you book time for me in repair shop and address the issue.

Mac's don't have UI scale options like Windows has.
Either you can drop the screen resolution in Displays a wee bit and make things appear distorted, or do what I do and use the Universal Access and set a control key, then use a mouse wheel/scroll to zoom in and out where the mouse is pointed.

Thanks, this was the clue I needed to figure it out.
From Settings you can pull up Control Center.
In Control Center you can enable "Access from within Apps" (also "Access from Lockscreen")
Now when I'm playing music, I can swipe up from the bottom and a little control center window slides up. Neat - this is new since my old iPod. On this window, the name of the current Bluetooth connection appears. Tap on that, and a list of connected Bluetooth items appears. I just tap on the one I want to connect to and I am now playing through the speakers I want.

without the disk the machine boots to the old system

this (I'm pretty sure) is the original disk that came with the machine (10.4.9)

How do I get my phone out of recovery mode? I deleted and replaced my old lockdown folder and now I cant get it off the recovery screen no matter what I try. I have tried TinyUmbarella, and several other softwares. They all go through the process but when the phone comes back on it is still on the screen that says hook to itunes. When I hook to itunes and try to restore i get a 3194 error which i try to fix also and that doesnt work either. PLEASE HELP.

To restore to the original factory settings (no jbs permitted. sorry.)
- Hold home and power to restart the iPhone
- Have the iPhone plugged in while holding home
- A popup on iTunes will show requesting you to restore your iPhone
- Let go of home and restore your iPhone
- "Restore as a new iPhone" or "Restore from Backup" will show after 15 minutes or less

How do you get multiple screens on the iPad with iOS 5.1.1? We just upgraded to iOS 5.1.1, and we see no way to be able to open multiple screens at once. Before, there was a small button in the upper portion of any window. That button would take you from a particular window to the place where multiple windows are open at once. Does it do it differently? Is there a special setting button that we have missed? Thanks!
One more thing: We are only talking about Safari.

I don't think I've seen a way to have separate Safari screens visible at the same time. The small thumbnails were deleted in one of the iOS updates, and replaced with a multiple "Tab" system.
You can open an additional screen in a new "tab" by pressing and holding on a link until a new menu comes up.

What exactly are you seeing on the phone's screen ? If the iTunes icon and cable then the phone is in recovery mode, in which case it's too late to take a new backup or to copy any content off the phone - you will have to connect the phone to your computer's iTunes and reset it back to factory defaults, after which you can restore to the last backup that you took or just resync your content to it
