How do I get my stuff back?

A long time ago my friend gave me his music that was imported from CDs and such way back in 2004ish. I had all the songs that i have purchased through itunes and the ones he gave me on my ipod and i got a new computer. I managed to get use the DVD disc to get most of the usic back onto my sisters computer. Since i cant keep that computer for long, i need to trnasfer everything to my new computer. How can i do that? Also, my sisters computer says that my ipod is corrupt and cant restore it with a 1439 error. Any suggestions or help?

- If you backed up then restore from backup. On your computer go to iTunes>Preferences>Devices and see if you have a backup dated before you had the problem. On the restored iPod go to Settings>iCloud>Storage and Backup and see if you have aback dated before the problem.

You should transfer all purchases to your computer. File>Devices>Transfer Purchases
You can redownload some purchases in some countries:

Apple deleted every single thing on my phone. How can I get this stuff back? Please help me.

So I plugged my phone to the computer to add new music, and then Apple said it needed to do an update. So I did. And then when my phone turns back on, pictures and stuff are gone up to a certain date (which must be when I last did a back up. The strange thing is I had some stuff storaged in the Cloud (which is really hard to use) and it was also deleted.

Restore your latest backup. If you connect the phone to your computer via USB, click on its name in iTunes, you can see the date of the latest computer backup and the latest iCloud backup.

There are three kinds of "stuff" on your machine:
• Mac OS X - System, Library, and the standard Applications, and the hidden unix files
• Applications you added - these will mostly be in Applications, maybe a few in Utilities
• User files: These will be ONLY in the subdirectory off /Users with your login name -- nowhere else..
There are two kinds on "getting rid of it". Tilde ( ~ ) represents your username.
• I am keeping my machine under my control, I just don't want that stuff in my face.
For this, you can drag the contents of a few folders inside you Users folder to the Trash.
1) /Users/~/Documents
2) /Users/~/Downloads
3) /Users/~/Pictures
4) /Users/~/Music

• I am changing this machine to different ownership, and I want that stuff unrecoverable:
The most secure is to completely erase the Hard Drive and choose security option Zero out data, one pass. This takes several hours. You will then have to re-Install Mac OS X and any Applications you added.
Slightly less secure is to erase what you want to get rid of, then "Erase Free Space" with overwrite with Zeroes, one pass. Take somewhat less time, but there is a tiny possibility something might get re-used before it gets over-written.

I hate sounding stupid, but apparently I am. I had to restore my iPhone 3GS to original settings. It said it was going to restore all my contacts, but it did not, it is like a brand new phone. On my iTunes, it shows all my apps, and I'm hoping it still has all my contacts, but how do I get all that back on my phone?

As mentioned, you should have your contacts backed up on your computer or with a program, such as Address Book for Mac OS X, because they are not backed up with iTunes, even you did backup and restore. It only saves settings, app settings and saved games and that's pretty much it. If you only have the contacts on the iPhone, then you pretty much lost them.

If there is more than one iPhone or iOS backup available with iTunes on your computer or with your iCloud account, you choose the backup you want to restore the iPhone with.
You must restore the iPhone again and this time select the correct backup.

You can purchase a USB DVD player/drive for as low as $20 that I have seen, or the Apple version for more...or attach the scanner to the iMac and save the scans directly.

No, AVG did not remove places.sqlite from the profile. In following the instructions given by Firefox I renamed that file by adding .old. The instructions then told me to re-open Firefox, and that when it reopened "it would create a new places database. Your browsing history will be lost but Firefox will automatically import your bookmarks from the most recent backup file." This DID NOT happen. I have not yet tried the steps in the "Lost Bookmarks" article.
Yes, the folder "bookmarkbackups" is still in the profile folder, and time-wise it predates me renaming the places file.
I do not know whether it is possible to set AVG to ignore certain directions?

How do i get my stuff back from icloud. only part loaded to my new phone

I backed up my Iphone4 before it was switched to a new one by the Apple Store. My new phone uploaded, but it appears not all of my pictures from Icloud loaded on my new phone. I did not go over my storage space. I believe the upload was interupted and that may have cause the remaining items to load. How do i go out and get the rest of my pics. I can tell that last pic loaded was May2013. No pics since then are there.

Camera roll photos may take a while to repopulate your new phone, are you sure you have given it long enough.

HT203167 the only items showing up in my "Purchased" section are the songs i've purchased since i got a new phone but none of the songs i purchased on my old phone (which used the same apple ID). how do i get this stuff back?

I would check the purchase history to see the purchases. If you have any further questions about it, there is another article that will assist with getting back those purchases resolved.
On a computer with iTunes installed, click purchase history to have iTunes open and display your purchase history. You will be prompted for your Apple ID and password.

I upgraded to Firefox 4 and now I can't use my yahoo toolbar, all my yahoo bookmarks are gone and I hate it! How can I get my stuff back?

First, I kept getting a notice that I should upgrade to Firefox 4. For a few days, I clicked on the link, and it said it was connecting to the server-all day long-until I clicked off of it. So, I went to the Mozilla website and downloaded the new version. My persona disappeared, my yahoo toolbar will not work, all my yahoo bookmarks disappeared and I can't get them back. Is there any way I can fix this! If not, I am going back to IE! This is stupid and frustrating!

Ran a previous version of FF, then closed and ran regular (5.0) version, but some add-ons, toolbars, and other stuff has disappeared. How can I get this stuff back?

I have been running 5.0 great for a while now, but today I tried downloading and running FF 3.6. As it was opening it stopped responding, but then I tried to force quit but then it worked and loaded up the pages I had open on 5.0 when I closed it.
I then closed the 3.6 version and ran the 5.0. I noticed a few things were gone or different...
~Several add-ons/extensions and toolbars were gone. Some of them were: Adblock Plus, Read it Later (and all its saved pages), Stumble Upon toolbar.... and more I am not sure of...
~Some of the saved sessions in my Session Manager add-on were gone.
~FF 5 seems to not be asking if I want to save my pages whenever I quit.
~The settings for how my tabs appeared has changed also... Like the color of text and where a new tab goes when I click on a link (to the right of the current tab or all the way to the right)... I am not sure if this is because of an associated add-on/extension being deleted.
UPDATE: I checked my profile folder and all of the extensions' data is all still there but FF5 is just not reading it correctly. (like adblock plus... I see the folder for it but FF5 doesn't have it on the add-on manager page when I run FF5) (The stumble upon toolbar folder is also in my profile folder but is not showing up in View->Toolbars when I actually run FF5)
Any help would be extremely appreciated.

Thanks but I don't think this will help. Like I said, all of my add-ons were working fine and compatible until after running a previous version of FF. I am sure they are still compatible, but they are not working at all.
