How do I get new content without paying - I paid for previous version of GarageBand
I paid for the previous versions of GarageBand and i am wondering if i have to paid for the additional content. When I try to restore purchases it states I have now and if I go to download the new drummers it wants me to pay.
Do I get this content for free as I already paid for GarageBand in the past or do i have to pay again?

You can find this option by choosing Download More Sounds from the GarageBand menu. If you previously purchased this content, select Restore Purchase to install the content.
Have you tried "Software Update" after restoring the purchases? For me the new drummers were then added for free. But I had previously MainStage 2 and Logc X 10 installed, with all Jam Packs and plenty of drummers. Maybe, "Restore Purchase" will be different, if you did not have these additional software installed.

I cannot believe that apple is refusing to help a customer who bought and paid for iWork software just because I bought it from the retail store the App Store says they cannot allow me to upgrade. I have never heard of such. It should to matter where I got it i bought apples software and I don't et how the retail store can be different frothe App Store my god its all still apple. So stupid. I will not pay full price for the upgrade. Also I purchased Logic Studio and 2 days later the upgrade came out and they will not let u upgrade ? iWork '08 & 09 installed from the retail disk or from the downloaded trial must be updated through Software Update. Those installations will not be recognized as installed by the Mac App Store. In Mountain Lion Software Update has been "rolled into" the Mac App Store. Choose Software Update from the Apple menu just like you always have & the Mac App Store will launch. Depending on what you have that needs updating you may see two sections in the MAS window.
But, as always, if you're not running the latest versions of the iWork apps installed from a retail box or the downloaded trial & Software Update says your software is up to date, make sure the applications are where the installer initially put them. The updaters are very picky. If the location is not where the updater is programmed to look or if the folder doesn't have the name the updater looks for, it will not work. The applications cannot be renamed or moved. If you installed from the downloaded trial or the retail box, they must be in the iWork '08 folder in Applications. That iWork folder must be named iWork '08. If it doesn't have the '08 Software Update won't find them & the updaters won't work.
If you are running Pages 3.0.3, then you do have the latest version of Pages from iWork '08. If you want to upgrade to iWork '09, you will need to purchase the new version, just like everyone else. The good news is that you can buy just the individual iWork apps - Keynote, Pages & Numbers - that you need or want for $20 US each from the Mac App Store & then install them on as many Macs as you need using the same Apple ID. -

This realy works??Where is the backup of the media and other important files from the computer? Ultimately, it is the users responsibility to ensure that backups exists. Waiting until there is a problem to decide to do a backup is not smart. Would you wait until a fire started in your home to call the insurance company and inquire about homeowners/renters insurance????
In the event that no backup exists (stop being lazy.... keep backups of YOUR data and other important files):
If you are in the US and running iTunes 10.3 or later, it is possible to redownload music via iCloud from purchased history.
If you are not in the US or for some reason cannot run iTunes 10.3 or later, contact iTunes customer support and ask very nicely for the opportunity to redownload the content. They are not required to provide this opportunity.
It is also possible to transfer content from an iDevice that was purchased via iTunes. On the new computer, sign into the iTunes account, authorize the computer, connect the device then select File > Transfer Purchases.
The simplest method of all is to transfer or copy the media (and other important files) from the old computer or the backup of the old computer. Typing "move itunes library" into the search bar here or into google will reveal step by step instructions on how to do this. -

Reinstall OS X without erasing the drive
1. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your Snow Leopard Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
2. Reinstall Snow Leopard
If the drive is OK then quit DU and return to the installer. Proceed with reinstalling OS X. Note that the Snow Leopard installer will not erase your drive or disturb your files. After installing a fresh copy of OS X the installer will move your Home folder, third-party applications, support items, and network preferences into the newly installed system.
Download and install Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1. -

My itunes files were deleted. I was able to use an old back up file to restore some but new downloaded purchases from iTunes for the past 5 months weren't in the back up. How do I get those back since I've paid for them one before? Can you redownload? If so, how?? Please help as I'm missing over 500 previously paid for and downloaded iTunes song purchases.
This was EXACTLY what I needed about the purchases I made from my device. However, is there a way to re-download other ones you've made from a computer? Because I realized some of them were not just purchased from my device.

If you have failed to make sure that any apps purchased on the iphone were transferred to your computer before updating, then you will have to redownload.

Getting the request for a serial number means that at some time you had the iWork ’09 trial installed. You need to delete the trial & then reinstall from the boxed DVD or the Mac App Store. The files to delete are the iWork ’09 folder from the main HD > Applications; the iWork ’09 folder in HD > Library > Application Support & the individual iWork application plist files found in HD > Users > (your account) > Library > Preferences for each user. The easiest way to fix the problem is to use Yvan Koenig's AppleScript that removes the files. You can find it on his box.com account in for_iWork'09 > other_iWork'09 items > uninstall iWork '09.zip. Download uninstall iWork '09.zip, decompress it, open it in AppleScript Editor and click the Run button.
Apple's support article on the subject says it's due to having a copy of the trial that is a higher version that the one you've purchased, but I'm not sure that is very common. This problem started with Snow Leopard & it seems to be some code in the iWork installers that doesn't do what it should. -
