How do I get new tab to open to google search? It used to!

New tabs had started opening to Yahoo. Stopped using Mozillauntil Chrome started annoying me. Got rid of Yahoo search page by disabling freezenet but now when I click on the + sign to open a new tab, I get a blank page. I used to click on the + sign and open to the google search page. I want it back. Please help

My page used to open to avg secure search for new tabs. I figured out how to disable it but now cannot figure out how to set it so that my new tabs open to a google search.

Actually it does.
A new tab opens by default as a blank tab (about:blank).
If that wasn't the case then an extension has changed that behavior and you probably did disable that extension.
You need another extension if you want a new tab to open with a specific page.
You can use an extension to set which page to open in a new tab:

Im running firefox 3.6.12 on a pretty dated computer. Im using Windows XP Home Edition SP3
On previous FireFox editions, opening new tabs from pages Im working on, used to appear at the end of the list of tabs. Now when I open it, it appears right next to me.
Is there a way of altering this setting? I often open multiple tabs from the same page by clicking a link with the mouse wheel and I like to work through them in the order I clicked them. This is usualy for comparing things like holidays, car insurance etc

Leliforever, cheek you list of installed add-ons, the Ask toolbar can be installed without the users knowledge.

Have you got some kind of search bar added as a plugin that you need to uninstall. I note an entry in your system details mentioning 'BLNBAR'.

When I open a new tab it opens a Bing search window instead of a blank page like it used to.
When FF starts it opens a blank page like it should, but if I click on the + to the right of the current tab is when the Bing tabs open. It's just a Bing search window not the Bing homepage. If needed I can submit a screenshot of the new page.
I use 2 addons affecting tabs. Multiple Tab Handler, and Colorful Tabs.
I think SlimBrowser is an IE based browser.
I use Win pro 64 bi on a HP laptop and FF 3.6.8
I've never had this problem all the years I used FF until now

This is not just an Add-on problem! It's not in my Add-ons. It isn't in my Program Files. Not one single solution I've found on any of the forums has resolved the problem for myself or many others. This is extremely aggravating, and I want it gone!
