How do I get new tabs to function? Nothing will open in a new tab.

I cannot use new tabs. I use right-click and "Open in New Tab" and the tab is there but the focus does not switch to it. I can right-click on the tab and "Open in New Window" but not a new tab. If I close the first tab, to the left, the unfocused, unavailable tab opens but, then it is the only tab open.
So, I do not have tabbed browsing on the latest version of Firefox.

Well, I already did that with the previous version of FF when this started. I t got worse with FF v.9.
I went to a Mozilla web page that checked plugins to see if they were up to date. All of them were.
But, when I had this "Tab" problem before I remembered a solution that mentioned something about Java or Java Script being involved. The plugin test page showed no Java Plugin(s).
So, I went to the Java/Oracle website and downloaded and updated Java. Later that night I had full joy with the tabbed browsing in Firefox v.9.0.1.
Problem is solved.

When I open new tabs they just go to a Google Search page, which is very frustrating, especially when I open a new tab and try to type in the URL bar but as soon as it finishes loading Google it blanks out what I typed in and goes to the Google site. When you're looking at the PDF that's on your site, is it opened in the browser or directly i Acrobat/Reader? If in the borwser, do you know if it's being viewed in the browser's default PDF viewer or Acrobat/Reader? It probably won't work in non-Adobe PDF viewers.
Are you saying that when you click the link that two new browser tabs are opened with the same URL, instead of just one as you'd expect, or something else?

How do I get new pages in new tabs to automatically go the same setting as my home page? Google is my home page, and I want the opening in new tabs to default to Google also.

Whenever I open a new tab, I want the new page to open to the same setting as my Home Page (in my case, Google). Instead it takes me to Bing. Even my Home Page reverts to Bing after I've set it to Google.

The default New Tab in Firefox is a blank page and there is no built-in option to change that.

Check the songs are really not in the Music section of the library by clicking the magnifying glass in the search box and unticking Search Entire Library if it is ticked, then typing in the name of the album. If the tracks still don't show try closing iTunes and deleting a hidden file called sentinel from inside your iTunes folder. This should make iTunes run an integrity check on the database when you start it again. Make sure the tracks are checked before you try syncing again.

I've had a problem with an add-on displaying a small extra window every time I open a session for some months now: I know you're supposed to try disabling and re-enabling every add-on you've got to find out which one is responsible, but this is a work computer and with all the add-ons I have, it would take too long, so I've just closed the extra window every time and got on with my work. However, for some reason today my forty-odd tabs have all opened in the small extra window, which has no tab bar, navigation bar or menu button. How do I get my tabs back into the main window of Firefox, or alternatively get that window to behave like a normal Firefox window so I can use it?

It is possible that there is a problem with the files sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.
Delete the sessionstore.js file and possible sessionstore-##.js files with a number and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.

The Inspector Icon does not have a "tab", it is just a shortcut button.
Menu > View > Show Inspector
command option i does the same thing showing and hiding the Inspector.
Because the Inspector/s are movable windows, if you can't see them they maybe somewhere off your screen or half tucked away partially out of sight.

Thanks to Dave Sawyer for posting information about re-downloading an app which has been deleted. I deleted the app from iTunes. Then, when I synched, iTunes asked me if I wanted the items on my ipod touch copied back into iTunes. I said yes and then synched.
Readdledocs is now working again. It is no longer frozen. However, I have learned my lesson. I will download only pdf's from now on. I don't think it works so well with epub files. The text reflow feature of Readdledocs is exactly what I need to use for my work documents on my ipod touch.

You seem to be new to this software, so I highly recommend that you take some time to learn it using some great tutorials available online - it will pay off to invest the time, if you follow through, for example the great (and free) introductory tutorial at izzyvideo.com.
This is an amazing piece of software, and you'll have a lot to learn, but it's well worth it.
