How do I get old purchased software again (iWork, etc)

I had a hard drive crash in my iMac. Lost all data because my external back had failed two day earlier! Anyway, how do I get stuff I purchased back on my machine, such as iWork, and more that I can 't recall right now.

If you purchased it from the Mac App Store, log into the store with the appropriate Apple ID and click the Purchases icon in the toolbar. You'll see all your purchases there and will be able to re-download them. If you did not purchase them from the MAS you'll need to reinstall them from the CD/DVD or other internet downloads.

To recognize software purchased on a DVD in the App Store, the only way to do it is to repurchase them in the App Store.
If your MacBook Pro and Air don't have a SuperDrive, you can buy an external optical drive to install it or, if you have another Mac, you can use Remote Disc to install the software on both computers. Also, Final Cut Express isn't available on the App Store

back up of your old computer.
Are you logged on under the same Apple ID that you used
to make the purchses? What are you trying to download?
Not all types of media can be downloaded in all locations.

The iPad is not a cellular telephone. So "texts" that are sent using the cellular network's SMS text message system cannot go to or from your iPad.
The only text-like messages your iPad can handle are iMessages. iMessages can only be sent to or from Apple devices and only while both are either on WiFi or a cellular network that supports iMessaging (not all do).

I have tried that as well. The purchased songs are not in my playlists and they are still there. I manually deleted them on the phone but the sync puts them right back on there.
I only sync playlists and they aren't on there.

It sounds like you restored from an old back-up. Did you back-up just before your software update? It will use your last one and if your last back-up was a ywear old then it will use that one.
In general, if you are getting these messages on your iPhones select logout (when you get that Apple Id request) and then log back in with your newer ID.

Adding to what RG said, first, to prevent this from happening again, turn off "In App purchases" in the Restrictions settings on your iPhone. You may also want to turn off the ability to install apps, to prevent purchases in case the child gets hold of your iTunes Store account information, and set the password to be required immediately. And yes we do not have disagreement about "official apple developers". Problem is that Apple screwed our devices because we are "official apple developers" and did effort to stop us getting proper help. I unbricked my ipad and iphone thanks to unofficial help. Thank you who wrote this unofficial help and "no thanks" for apple for ruining my access to my devices. My mistake was assuming that "update" button on my devices works. It did not because it always told "Your device has latest IOS6 installed" until it bricked yesterday.
If Apple does not want to listen us, continue do delete post, blame us installing your software and yes we stop buying your devices and developing for them.

After installing, reboot holding down CMD+s, (+s), then when the DOS like prompt shows, type in...

Then let it do all 6 of it's things.
At least it'll eliminate some questions if it doesn't fix it.
The 6 things it does are...
Correct any Disk problems.
Repair Permissions.
Clear out Cache Files.
Repair/check several plist files.
Dump the VM files for a fresh start.
Trash old Log files.
First reboot will be slower, sometimes 2 or 3 restarts will be required for full benefit... my guess is files relying upon other files relying upon other files! :-)
Disconnect the USB cable from any Uninterruptible Power Supply so the system doesn't shut down in the middle of the process.
