I am a complete newbie to JSF coming from Struts 1. My question is how do you use one managed bean from the method of another one? I think this would be a common senario. For example I put a bean in session scope when a user logs in and in a different method within a different bean I want to get some of this user's information. What is the correct way to retireve one bean from a method in another with session scope?
Also what would the code look like to retieve another bean from the method of a managed bean where the bean you want to retrieve has application scope?

The iBooks application is not available for Macs right now, so if they are books you purchased and downloaded in iBooks then no luck.
Amazon does have a Kindle app available for Macs, Windows PC, and all i-devices (iPhone, iPad, etc.). The application is free. Once you've set up your devices in Manage My Kindle, then you can purchase books on the Amazon website or via the Kindle Store app (which is also free), and they will then be available to download to any target device, as well as available to download to registered Manage My Kindle device.
The target device will have the book downloaded to it automatically, the other registered devices will have the book available to download via the Amazon cloud.
When you purchase a book, it has a default target device listed, but you can click on it and a dropdown will display all of your other registered devices so you can select one of those for that particular "direct download".
I've been using the Kindle app ever since it became available, and I have found it to be a great app - easy to use. The e-books on Amazon are generally cheaper than they are in the iBooks store as well....
Something to think about anyway!

Please help! With purchased music, sure, it all shows up and I can listen to it or download it from the cloud, on to my iphone, but last night I imported a cd on to my MacBook. I tried what I did in the old days, dragging the new songs over to the iphone, but the message came up thst I couldn't because of iTunes Match. I am so confused. Please help!
With iTunes Match enabled on an iOS device traditional syncing of music via USB is disabled. All music management takes place directly on the iOS device.
When you add new music to an iTunes library that has iTunes Match enabled, that music will be scanned for matching or uploading and will then shortly show up on the iOS device. Is iTM enabled in iTunes? -

No. After upgrading (and of course make a back up first) you will need to update iPhoto to v9.6.1 (you won't be able to do this prior to upgrading). Here's how:
Go to the App Store and check out the Purchases List. If iPhoto is there then it will be v9.6.1
If it is there, then drag your existing iPhoto app (not the library, just the app) to the trash
Install the App from the App Store.
Sometimes iPhoto is not visible on the Purchases List. it may be hidden. See this article for details on how to unhide it.

One question often asked: Will I lose my Photos if I reinstall?
iPhoto the application and the iPhoto Library are two different parts of the iPhoto programme. So, reinstalling the app should not affect the Library. BUT you should always have a back up before doing this kind of work. Always.
Photos is v1 of a new app, as yes it's not as mature as iPhoto. It uses a different technology for working with external editors. That requires Adobe to write an extension to let it hook into the new app. Not done yet, neither has anyone else.
Going forward: iPhoto will run on OS 10.10., but there is no guarantee for subsequent versions of the OS. You might want to factor that into your anger term thinking. -

After having fixed all filesystem issues, if any, and making sure that there's enough space available on the startup disk (a few GB, plus the space needed to make a backup copy of the Mail folder), try this:
1. Quit Mail if it's running.
2. In the Finder, go to ~/Library/Mail/. Make a backup copy of this folder, just in case something goes wrong -- e.g. by dragging it to the Desktop while holding the Option (Alt) key down.
3. Locate Envelope Index and move it to the Trash. If you see an Envelope Index-journal file there, delete it as well.
4. Open Mail. It will tell you that your mail needs to be "imported". Click Continue and Mail will proceed to re-create Envelope Index -- Mail says it's "importing", but it just re-creates the index if the mailboxes are already in Mail 2.x format.
BTW, you haven't answered which mailbox has the problem. I could be that just rebuilding that mailbox fixes it -- you should verify/repair the disk and make a backup copy of the Mail folder first, nevertheless, though.
Note: For those not familiarized with the ~/ notation, it refers to the user's home folder, i.e. ~/Library is the Library folder within the user's home folder. -

You will need a valid billing address in the US and be in the US when you want to buy anything from it. Calendar help: how do I get One event to show up on two calendars? For example I want to enter vacation only once but I wanted to show up on the calendar that I share with my husband and the calendar I have with my assistant.
The signature should show up with each account. Usually the complaint is not having an option for multiple signatures or not being able to have a different signature for each account.

I was downloading $15 worth of iTunes songs from a gift card when my iPod died. Now, no credit & no songs on my iPod. Where did either my $$ go or my songs that I paid for disappear?
