How do I get out of the fullscreen of death?

Hi,
Hoping someone alse has experienced this and come up with a solution:
I've lost control of Aperture and don't know what to do. I'm running Aperture 3.3.2 and Mac OSX 10.7.5(11G56) on a 15 inch mid-2010 MBP.
I inadvertently pressed some combination of keys and here's where I am now. It's a black screen with just the Aperture toolbar popping in and out as I movet he mouse cursor to the top. Tool tips appear, but buttons are non responsive.
Pressing 'F' doesn't do any thing and I cannot press the double arrow button on the upper right to exit full screen. Left/right keys don't switch pictures as I'd expect. Only two keys provide response:
The [ESC] key brings me to a blank textil- textured screen where 'F' toggles between this and a screenfull of thumbnails.
The Aperture menu appears on the left part of this thumbnail screen(along with my widgets and the date, time and log in name on the right side), but is inaccessible(no mouse response). Only the widgets on the upper right of the menu bar react to mouse clicks.
'F' toggles between this and the first screen.
I can only get out of these screens by swiping four fingers to move to another desktop.
So how do I get out of this full screen of death?
Hoping for a solution
Fullscreened to death,
Benny

Benny,
Where do I find the plist file? It's not in HD/library/prferences?
you have to look in the user preferences, not the system preferences:
The user preferences are hidden by default; reveal them from the Finder's "Go" menu:
Quit Aperture, if it is running:
Open the user library by using the Finder's "Go > Go to Folder" menu and hold down the options-key, until "Library" appears in the drop down menu. Select it.
In the widow that will open, scroll down to "Preferences"
From the "Preferences" folder  remove "com.apple.Aperture.plist".
Then try to launch Aperture again.
Regards
Léonie

  • How do I get out of the Connect to Itunes screen on my iPod Touch?

How do I get out of the screen with the Itunes logo and the usb port to connect it to my computer? Earlier today I planned on updating my iPod Touch 5g to
ios 8 and I had just enough space left to update it. After the update was verifying, it put me on the screen to connect my ipod to iTunes, and every time i try to reset the ipod, it wont let me out of the screen. I don't want to update to ios 8 anymore, because everytime I try to restore the iPod, an error occurs. I am basically being forced at this point to update it, is there any way back to normal ios 7? Please help

  • How can I get out of the flashing Apple screen on Iphone 3 ?

How can I get out of the flashing Apple screen on Iphone 3 ?

Turn it off.  While pressing and holding the Home button, connect it to your computer with iTunes open.  Hopefully you will be able to restore it after that.  If not, it requires service.

  • How do I get OUT of the Apple Store and back to my playlist?

Something sent me to the Apple Store for a free amp which I couldn't find. Now EVERYTHING comes up Apple Store in iTunes. How do I get out of it and back to my jazz and classical playlists and be able to play CDs in my iMac with this terrible software?

Click on 'Library' at top right and choose 'Music'.
Personally, I would enable the sidebar, which makes navigation a lot easier - command-option(alt)-s

  • How do I get out of the "no bootable device" screen?

I am doing a clean install of both operating systems and successfully deleted the windows partition, and reinstalled the Mac partition. When I got boot camp assistant started and it restarts to prepare installing windows, I am faces with the "no bootable device" screen. It says to insert a boot disk. Currently the Mac snow leopard disk is in the drive (in order to access certain disk utility functions, etc) but I can't get the disk out. I've tried force ejecting in every way and it won't eject.
So I try to boot back into the Mac partition by holding down option/alt, and it doesn't work. It just goes straight to the same no bootable device screen. How do I get out of this? Every suggestion I've seen is to hold down option and boot into Mac and I can't do that. It's almost like the keyboard does NOT respond at all while in the boot up process, can't force eject by holding keys, can't boot into anything by holding keys. Solution?

an update on this in case anyone else runs into this problem. it turns out the mac os x install disk got rubbed the wrong way or something and was mucking up my entire computer by just being in the drive. i couldn't get it out, so i took  it down to geek squad and they forcibly removed it.
after that i was able to hold down option and get into the mac partition i created earlier, which i wasn't able to do with that disk in the drive.
now i can most likely get back to installing windows on my partition, however the drivers are located on that install disk...so i'm going to be looking for ways to get around that.

  • Contacts error message--how do I get out of the loop?

Since the latest ML upgrade (10.8.2 12C60) was pushed to my MBPro (15-inch, Mid 2010, 2.53 GHz i5) this morning, I have been getting the error message "Contacts can't connect to the account <mail account name> Enter the password for user <username>". The message hangs from the top edge of the Contacts window.  I have tried the password for the ISP mail account, the iCloud mail account, my computer user account, my keychain, my computer system administrator account, etc. I have tried pasting passwords copied from my keychain. The message keeps reappearing. The only way to get rid of the message is to quit Contacts. After about 20 password attempts, I get the message "The operation could not be completed. No other information is available about the problem." When I dismiss this message, I get the 1st message again. It is an unending loop. "Cancel" does not get out of the loop. Help!
Mail seems to work all right.

I also keep getting the error message "The operation could not be completed No other information is available about the problem"  but only with Contacts (the address book).  Mail is fine.  I can not tell what operation it is referring to and have not found any problems with the contacts themselves yet.  Its a concern, and annoying, but I can't say that its an actual problem for me.  A glitch maybe?
I did have the problem you are having with mail some time ago, but after I deleted the accounts off of my mac and iphone, then set them back up from scratch it resolved the issue.  I seriously hope I don't have to do that with contacts.  It would make me very nervous.

  • How do I get out of the album artwork view?

Hi, my iphone music player opens a screen in the music player with an album cover view and I can't get out of this view back to the lists. How can I close the album artwork view and go back to the lists?

I'm not sure what tutorials you are viewing, and how, and I assume that you are on a Mac as there isn't an iPhoto 11 for the iPad (where is the forum where you've posted this), but is there a red-x top left of the window that you can use to close it ?

    Hi there,
My partner owns an iphone 3gs, and was working fine yesterday, but now it doesnt want to work, as it is stuck on the new software update. How do i get passed this? I have tried plugging it into my computer as it was saying, connect to itunes. Did not seem to work.

Your headline says iPhone 3GS, but your text says 3G.
iPhone 3G is not compatible with iOS5. 3GS is.

  • HT204053 How do I get out of the Genius Playlist?

I cannot get out of Genius on my iPhone 4s.

Try force closing the Music app.  Go back to the home screen, double-tap the home button, locate Music in the list at the bottom, tap and hold it until it wiggles, tap to close it, tap the home button again.  Try Music again.

  • How do I get out of the restore loop in Nano gen 7

I have a 7th generation iPod Nano which I proceeded to restore to factory setting. It is now in an endless loop of recovery mode and needing restoring.
    Software Version 1.0.3
    Does anyone have the solution?

    Greetings reklats,
It seems you are unable to restore your iPod Nano to factory settings. Based on the information you have provided, it appears your iPod Nano needs to be serviced. The following link should help you get started with the process and has links with additional information on topics such as warranty and service pricing, battery replacement, and express replacement service.

  • How can I get out of the upload/download and just use a convert program right on my computer?

i recently purchased a package which I thought would download a program for directly converting my Word documents to Adobe.  I realized after the purchase that I had to 'upload/download' everything.  This is extremely slow for me becasue of my feed rate.  Can I get a package to actually install on my computer like the old days?

Reading a question like this makes me feel significantly less guilty about having my iPod loaded to the brim with episodes of classic +Star Trek+.
    mgmcs,
The iTunes Store is the only officially supported means of downloading TV shows to your device. The iPod doesn't yet support the internet plugin that CBS uses to display TV episodes on its website.

  • How do I get out of iOS Mail Setup?

    Hi All
I got a new iPad Mini for  Christmas.  I got it set up and working easily and fairly quickly.
I copied my Mail settings from my MacPro (OSX 10.8) using the "Sync selected Mail accounts" check box in iTunes. I've been reading mail on my iPad for about a month.
Yesterday I traveled several hours to stay with a friend for a while. I got the iPad on my friends WiFi without a problem and I can surf the web, map stuff and everything appears to be working fine... till I check email.
When I open Mail, I'm presented with the "Welcome to Mail" setup screen - like mail thinks it's not configured.
I go into Settings/Mail, Contacts and Calendars, and all my email  acccounts are there, just like they should be.
The iPad is playing the New Message alert chime as it fetches mail in the background.
When I open Mail all I get is the Welcome to Mail screen!
I tried putting in dummy info to get past the setup, but that fails and I end up back at the Welcome to Mail screen.
How do I get out of the stinking setup screen and back to my emails?

Thank you all for taking the time to read this. I believe I've solved the problem.
    What I did:
I have several email accounts (ISP, Gmail, etc). I have them set to forward to one 'primary' account and I have that set to Active and the rest set to Inactive.
I went into Settings/Mail, Comtacts and Calendars and activated one of the inactive accounts, and de-activated the account I normally use. This change apparently convinced Mail that it was indeed configured and it got out of the setup screen and back to may emails.
I then went back to Settings/Mail, Contacts and Calanders and returned the accounts to their original configurations. Things are now back to 'normal'.
This is clearly a programming issue. Apps should not need to be 'kicked' like that to function.

  • When I open PSE, it goes to lesson #2 of "classroom in a book." How can I get out of it?

When I open Photoshop Elements & click organize, it opens to lesson #2 of "classroom in a book." How do I get out of the classroom program and back to  PSE?

Thanks for the additional help. I kept looking at the menu bar and saw a couple of squiggly lines, so I clicked on them and a drop down menu appeared with file etc. So I was finally able to switch to the right catalog.
Now I had a new problem: I attempted to get photos from my files and was able to get some of them, but not all. I have many blank spaces with large question marks on them. They show a date at the bottom.
I've tried to import them again and again, but the program tells me that all files have been transferred. But I have all these large question marks staring at me. Any idea of what else I should be doing?
Thanks for any help you can give me.
