How do i get outlook mail account on macbook air

i have synced my yahoo mail account just fine but I am having trouble syncing my work email (which is outlook) to my mac book air. can someone please give me the correct steps in order to sync my work account? thanks

Outlook is a client for email.
Do you have Outlook installed on your MBA?
You probably mean that your work email is on an Exchange server.
Your IT department would have to provide a way to securely access the exchange server from outside of their internal network.

Adobe - Lightroom : For Macintosh
Just download and install 5.7.1. Don't worry about earlier versions.
You'll need to enter your serial number to license the software.

How do I get CS6 intalled on my MacBook Air w/o somewhere to insert the installation cds? My CS6 software is currently installed on two iMacs. I know I will have to remove it from one.
    Thank you!

Thank you - think I'll pass on that option and just download from Adobe. Thanks for taking the time to reply!

  • How can I get Microsoft office onto my Macbook Air?

I need to use Microsoft office instead of Pages and Keynote because they are not compatible with my teacher's files. However my macbook air does not have the cd/dvd slot so how could I get Microsoft office onto my macbook? Help is appreciated! I really need it for my classes!!!!

You have a couple of options.
    1) Buy a external DVD drive that connects by USB port. Any brand will work on your Mac. It doesn't have to have the Apple name on it for it to work. Most cost around $30.
    2) If you have the office DVD take it to a Mac that has a DVD drive and copy the DVD contents to a USB thumb drive then install from that thumb drive.
    3) Fine the DMG download of the office version you have.
Note that only Office 2008 and the newest 2011 will work on a Mac running Lion or Mt Lion. The older 2004 version won't install on newer Mac computers.

  • How do i get rid of "other" on macbook air? its taking up too much room

How do I get rid of the "other" storage space on my macbook air? it takes up too much on my small 64GB macbook air? I must get rid of it as I have now space to put anything on my computer.

For information about the Other category in the Storage display, see this support article. If the Storage display seems to be inaccurate, try rebuilding the Spotlight index.
Empty the Trash if you haven't already done so. If you use iPhoto, empty its internal Trash first:
    iPhoto ▹ Empty Trash
Do the same in other applications, such as Aperture, that have an internal Trash feature. Then restart the computer. That will temporarily free up some space.
According to Apple documentation, you need at least 9 GB of available space on the startup volume (as shown in the Finder Info window) for normal operation. You also need enough space left over to allow for growth of the data. There is little or no performance advantage to having more available space than the minimum Apple recommends. Available storage space that you'll never use is wasted space.
When Time Machine backs up a portable Mac, some of the free space will be used to make local snapshots, which are backup copies of recently deleted files. The space occupied by local snapshots is reported as available by the Finder, and should be considered as such. In the Storage display of System Information, local snapshots are shown as  Backups. The snapshots are automatically deleted when they expire or when free space falls below a certain level. You ordinarily don't need to, and should not, delete local snapshots yourself. If you followed bad advice to disable local snapshots by running a shell command, you may have ended up with a lot of data in the Other category. Ask for instructions in that case.
See this support article for some simple ways to free up storage space.
You can more effectively use a tool such as OmniDiskSweeper (ODS) or GrandPerspective (GP) to explore the volume and find out what's taking up the space. You can also delete files with it, but don't do that unless you're sure that you know what you're deleting and that all data is safely backed up. That means you have multiple backups, not just one. Note that ODS only works with OS X 10.8 or later. If you're running an older OS version, use GP.
Deleting files inside an iPhoto or Aperture library will corrupt the library. Any changes to a photo library must be made from within the application that created it. The same goes for Mail files.
Proceed further only if the problem isn't solved by the above steps.
ODS or GP can't see the whole filesystem when you run it just by double-clicking; it only sees files that you have permission to read. To see everything, you have to run it as root.
    Back up all data now.
If you have more than one user account, make sure you're logged in as an administrator. The administrator account is the one that was created automatically when you first set up the computer.
Install the app you downloaded in the Applications folder as usual. Quit it if it's running.
Triple-click anywhere in the corresponding line of text below on this page to select it, then copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C:
    sudo /Applications/OmniDiskSweeper.app/Contents/MacOS/OmniDiskSweeper
    sudo /Applications/GrandPerspective.app/Contents/MacOS/GrandPerspective
Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window by pressing command-V. You'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. Type carefully and then press return. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator.
The application window will open, eventually showing all files in all folders, sorted by size. It may take a few minutes for the app to finish scanning.
I don't recommend that you make a habit of doing this. Don't delete anything as root. If something needs to be deleted, make sure you know what it is and how it got there, and then delete it by other, safer, means. When in doubt, leave it alone or ask for guidance.
When you're done with the app, quit it and also quit Terminal.

  • My Mac Pro has died can I get my Mail onto my Macbook Air?

My Macbook Pro has died and before I send it for repair I would like to get all my Mails off it onto my Macbook Air. I have both the syatem disc and a Time Machine backup.
Is there a utility to do this or anything I need to look out for or make invisible files visible (and if so how on Mavericks).
I have been very much against putting much on iCloud, I am beginning to have second thoughts now...

If your email Provider uses POP, that setup is geared toward ONE computer fetching the emails off the Mail Server, reading them, and storing them locally (on your Mac). The Server deletes them after a while (but you can specify how long before it does that delete).
If your email Provider uses IMAP, that is geared toward one OR MORE computers reading emails, but the Master Copy continues to be stored on the Server. This makes it easy to use Multiple devices, and  "Copying" is completey optional. But your Server mailbox can get really BIG unless you prune un-needed old emails and especially attachments.
iCloud, AOL, and Yahoo are some of the popular services that can be configured to use IMAP.
iCloud (possibly others as well) is set to transfer your messages encrypted. I am not sure whether they are stored encrypted.

  • How do I set up hotmail account on MacBook Air - tried for 2 days now without success?

I have been trying to add a hotmail account on my new MacBook Air without success - searched on the net for 2 evenings now and still no success!  Can anyone suggest what I might be doing wrong although I think it could be that I am not sure that the Exchange Server address I have used is correct.  If anyone can help how to check I have the correct exchange server address, that would also be appreciated

  • How can I get apple to replace my macbook air?

    I purchased a macbook air in mid 2012. It's 13-inch 1.8 GHz Intel Core i5.
Anyways, since I've had this particular computer I've had to take it in on 3 occasions because it kept shutting off, or crashing anything I ran.
They have replaced the logic board all 3 times, and I believe the cost each time is approximately $500 (covered by applecare).
I'm really annoyed by the function of this particular device I've purchased. I really just want to get rid of this computer now.
My question is, how or when will apple decide to trash this computer instead of waste money by replacing the logic board every 5 months?
I would like a new computer. I am fed up of having to take my computer into the store– which mind you is far from my house, only to leave it there for a week before I can pick it up.

I'd suggest making an appointment with an Apple Genius, and discuss your options.

Hey everyone, I'm still making the dission between whatt mac to buy but if i bought the macbook air how will i be able to get micrOsoft office on it since it dosen't have a SuperDrive? Thanks ;)

MS seels keys online, then you download.
Or if you have another Mac with a SuperDrive you can use "Target Mode" (http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=Mac/10.7/en/mchlp1443.html).

  • How do I get Recovery HD back onto Macbook Air?

While trying to create an image to distrubute at work, I wiped my Macbook Air (11inch i5) while booted to an external HD using Disk Utility. I wiped the entire HD, not a single partition, so the Recovery HD is gone. From the Macbook Air...
    I AM ABLE TO...
Boot to an external HD with Lion installed from a USB. The external HD was created on a Macbook Pro using the Lion DMG from the App Store.
Boot to an external HD pulled from a Macbook Pro running Lion.
    I AM UNABLE TO...
Boot to USB drive with Lion from the App Store (get null set)
Boot to Recovery HD (as it is gone)
Boot via Lion Internet Recovery Mode (error -2003F)
Boot to a Recovery HD created with Lion Recovery Disk Assistant (get null set)
Boot via Target Mode as I do not have a Thunderbolt cord yet
Boot with a Snow Leopard disc as these machines do not allow for this
I simply want to get a base image of Lion and the Recovery HD reinstated. I am absolutely amazed at how annoying this has become. Any and all ideas are welcome and very appreciated.

I'm in the same boat. I can boot to a Lion disk in an external DVD drive, but it will only display video on an external monitor...

  • How do i transfer my iTunes account from Macbook air to windows 8 pc

I have a Macbook air newest model and i want to transfer my itunes account to a wondows 8 pc.?

An account is what you use to buy media from the iTunes Store. A library is a collection of media on a computer.  Which one?
Quick answer if you use iTunes' default preferences settings:  Copy the entire iTunes folder (and in doing so all its subfolders and files) intact to the other drive.  Open iTunes and immediately hold down the option (alt) key (shift on Windows) so you get a prompt to select a library, then guide it to the 'iTunes Library.itl' file in the moved iTunes folder.
