How do I get past purchases back on my itouch?

how do I get past purchases back on my itouch? had to reset because of forgotten password... now what?

Update iTunes to 10.3.1
After you update iTunes, go to the iTunes store on your computer then click Purchased "new" under Music Quick Links on the right side of the iTunes window. You can re download past purchases there. Connect your iPod to your computer, select the Music tab from the menu then click Sync.

It shows on iTunes SOME of my past purchases, but not all (looks like around 30-40% of purchases).    It shows on my apple id purchase history everything i have purchased; but in iTunes, some not all of these show up.    What does show up is kind of "greyed out", so NOTHING will actually play.   I have followed the steps in the iTunes support about how to redownload past purchases, but this dowsn't work, as the download button is also "greyed out".
I am extremly angry and upset about this issue.  Could someone please help / advise re how to fix????

I'm hoping that this may be just a misunderstanding somewhere.
Could you show an image showing these greyed out items?

By any chance, did you have the Find My iPhone app installed prior to it being stolen?

Hopefully you had your iTunes purchases backed up to an external source such as an external drive or CD's?

How do I get my Purchases back after my computer got wiped, Can I re-download them for free? and how?

You buy one and only one download of music/vids/tv shows/movies.  It is your responsibility to move/copy/backup your purchases.
It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer for just such an occasion.
Use your backup copy to put everything back.
If for some reason you have failed to maintain a backup ( not good), then you can transfer itunes purchases from an ipod:  File>Transfer Purchases

  • I've got a new IMAC, but i don't have all my music or movie purchase on it.  I just recently updated iTunes.  How do I get my purchases back?

Ive got a new iMac and now that i updated iTunes I do not have all my music and movie purchases.  How can I get it all back?.  I used to have it before update

It doesn't magically transfer itself, you have to do it.  Purchase may present themselves for re-downloading but things such as CD are only on the old machine or on the CD.
Quick answer if you use iTunes' default preferences settings: Copy the entire iTunes folder (and in doing so all its subfolders and files) intact to the other drive. Open iTunes and immediately hold down the option (alt) key (shift on Windows) so you get a prompt to select a library, then guide it to the 'iTunes Library.itl' file in the moved iTunes folder. If you put the copied iTunes folder in the default location of Macintosh HD > Users > *User Name* > Music then you don't even need to start with the option key held down, iTunes will automatically look for it there. (Make sure there isn't anything already in the iTunes folder there that you want to keep since you will be replacing it with the one you are moving.)

  • How do I get deleted purchases back.  They have an ! beside them.  I did not delete them but they won't play

I went to play some of my purchased songs and a note came up that "the song couldn't be played because the original file can't be located" and an "!" appears beside the songs.  I found out that the "!" means the song was deleted.   I didn't delete the songs so how do I get them back.  They do show up in my purchased songs but it won't let me download it again.   Help??

    Gina...
It's possible they are no longer available from the iTunes store.
Downloading of past purchases is currently available for TV Shows in Australia, Canada, United Kingdom, and United States only. iOS 5 or later is required for iPhone 4 (CDMA Model).
Previous purchases may be unavailable if they have been refunded or are no longer on the iTunes Store. Downloading past purchased TV Shows requires iTunes 10.3 or later.

  • New computer, new Ipod. How can I get my purchases back?

I have an Ipod. I deleted all my music off it. I bought a new computer. I've logged back into Itunes but it hasn't got any of my purchases recorded. I had bought quite a lot of music, how can I get it back?
I know it'd be easy to re-authorise if i had just a new computer. But i don't have a copy of any of my music. So when I log into Itunes, it's as if I never bought the music.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

  • My laptop was stolen, how do I get my purchases back?

Recently, my laptop was stolen and I was just wondering if it would be possible to get all my past iTunes purchases back? I had a lot of movies and music that were on that computer. Unfortunately, I only had some of the purchases on my iPod. Can anyone help me? I really want to be able to retrieve my past purchases. Thanks!

Was your backup copy of your computer stolen as well?
If not, then use your backup copy to put everything back.
In the U.S. only you can use icloud to get music back. Open itunes store, click Purchased under Quick Links.

  • How do i get my purchases back onto my iTunes account?

They were all deleted due to an issue with my iPod freezing. I took it in to the Apple store, and they told me EVERYTHING was deleted. Most of my music was purchased, including apps and such, so how do i get them back? It is a rip off if I am not able to get them back because i payed a lot of money for all of that and i want them back. please help!

Did you ever transfer your music purchases to your computer iTunes? If so, it is simple to use iTunes to replace the music on your iPod.
If you only had your music on your iPod then it is lost. Purchased Apps, however, can be downloaded again at no charge from the App Store.

Me Again... Did I lose all my itunes purchases when my last computer died?  Can I get them back?

If you are in a country where you can re-download music (and they are still available in the store) then they should show under the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on your computer's iTunes : re-downloading.

    Dr Traed-
There should be a program that came with the camera that can view the AVCHD videos.  It may have the ability to save-as other formats.
One program that is good for converting some video formats to M4V or MP4 required by iPad, is HandBrake.  <Download Handbrake> If you can save the videos to an intermediate format, HandBrake may be able to complete the comversion to MP4.

i would like to know how i can get my purchases back onto my ipod--i can no longer link my ipod to the computer

If the iPod does not show in iTunes then:
iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows

If you  have iTunes 11 turn on the Sidebar.  Go to iTunes>View and click on Show Sidebar. You can also do a Crtl+S to show the sidebar. The sidebar is where Devices appears. and Control+B to show the Menu bar
