How do I get PC win7 64bit mouse to work on page layout setup?
First lesson of InDesign and my mouse could not select the new "Preview" feature in InDesign cc. Also, mouse was funky in other places too. How do I get the mouse to perform normally?
Do you have large fonts enabled in InDesign? It's been a problem for past versions and may still be an issue in CC. If you do, either turn off Aero or set the fonts back to 100%

My iMac is over a month old, and the first week I had it I tried to talk on Skype with a friend. My mic wouldn't work, and after making an Apple Care appointment with a local Mac store last weekend, we found out that the iMac DOES hear me, Dictation works with my voice, but for some reason Skype won't pick me up. Another program I sometimes use is Livestream Procaster, and neither pick up audio from me, oddly though they do pick up finger tapping on the desk, which is no further away from the computer than I myself am.
I Googled this issue with Skype and I found this page:

It shows a screen capture using Audio MIDI Setup, and I opened mine to make sure everything was in order, but my CH: 1 & 2 are both grayed out, so I can't adjust them at all.

And I did check to make sure that my Interal Mic is selected in Skype, Livestream Procaster, and even my iMac's System Preferences. I wonder if it has something to do with this Audio MIDI Setup. I don't actually know, but from searching for solutions, this is the only thing that doesn't seem to match up with suggestions I've found online.

The problem is I don't know if this is a Mac issue or a Skype issue. I was going to go to Skype, but when I found that page that I linked to above, that's what lead me to believe it's a Mac issue again because I can't get my Audio MIDI Setup to match the suggestion made by the user in that link. -

Thank you! I am 71 also, and broke a fingernail trying to get the thing open, thought there must be a trick to it. After many attempts, when I had your reply it opened right up. I think Apple delights in making people look stupid. Love the machines, but dislike the smooth surfaces with no obvious switches to run the machine itself. Computer is still not "discovering" the mouse, so there may be some further problem to be resolved. The whole setup worked fine until a few days ago when the computer started to lose the mouse now and then. I thought probably the mouse needed batteries, as I just had replaced the contemporary batteries in the keyboard.
I'm retired, too, in Portland, Oregon, USA, and write poetry (though not for advertising agencies), get lot of rejections and an acceptance about once a year.

I have two iMac's on the same desk (about a foot apart). One iMac pairs with both keyboards and mice. The other pairs with the mouse only; I cannot get the keyboard to connect. How do I get a keyboard and mouse to connect to each iMac independently?

I always assummed that the mic was part of iSight (intertwined?). The mic is situated right next to iSight. It would seem to me the solutions would be the same some what.
Regarding the OP, I also suspect his/her problem is hardware. It's rather unusual for the internal mic to not work yet the iSight does. -

You don't. Since you have an Intel Mac, buy a Mac OS X 10.6 DVD from the online Apple Store.

I JUST NEED HELPI would contact Apple under your warranty. I doubt you received a new iPod since Apple's policy is to give you a refurbished iPod.

Go step by step and test.
1. System Preference > Sound > Output > Internal Speakers
Highlight Internal Speakers / Headphones
Make sure that Mute is not enabled.
2.Plug in and remove the headphone.
If you see red light in the headphone port, plug the headphone
in and out of the port 5 or 6 times to flip the microswitch inside.
Sound output may be stuck in the digital mode.
Try this even if you don’t see the red light.
3. Reset PRAM. http://support.apple.com/kb/PH14222
Do this twice
4. Reset SMC. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964
Choose the appropriate method.
5. Applications > Utilities > Audio MIDI Setup
Audio Devices window
Side Bar
Click the Built-in Output.
Under Mute any of the boxes checked? If so, uncheck it.
Make sure that CH1 and CH2 volume sliders are at the middle and matched.

Ok here is a good link Re: how do i setup/connect to my wireless printer I assume the printer is wirless if so this should work. First turn the printer on then go into system preferences and then printers and scanners. It should look for the printer that is on the same wifi as you and then just set it up.
