How do I get phone out of recovery mode?
Tried to update to IOS 8 today and phone froze during the update, from reading lots and lots of articles on the internet I have discovered that it is in recovery mode (with a blue itunes logo). My question is how do I get it out of recovery mode? Itunes does not seem to recognise it when I connect it to my laptop and I have tried the hard reset and also holding the home button while reconnecting.....all help gratefully accepted!!
Make sure that iTunes is up to date, as well as windows (if you are using windows) You will have to restore the device using iTunes If iTunes is not recognizing the device in recovery mode, you may need to call Apple Care. Explain that the device went into recovery mode when updating to iOS 8, and they should help you for no charge.

Once the Device is asking to be Restored with iTunes... it is too late to save anything... and you must continue with the Recovery...

my 2nd gen itouch went to recovery mode after the battery drained. how do i get it out of recovery mode without restoring it? btw, my itouch is not jailbroken and it's on ios4 (don't know which version). thanks!
you can find softwares like recboot that will remove the recovery mode. you can search it on google

i have no idea why, but the new update for iphone did not work when i was downloading last night and the phone put itself into recovery mode. i havent synched it with my computer for a while and theres tons of stuff on there that i cant afford to lose if i choose to restore.
after doing a bit of research i found iNdependence and iFuntastic. iNdependence constantly displays 'Status: disconnected waiting for iphone' so i cant do anything on it and iFuntastic i can not find where abouts to click to get the phone out of recovery mode.
if anyone could help that would be fantastic!

when i connect my nano to itunes it says i am in recovery mode. it told me to restore so i did and it still is in recovery mode and i lost everything on my ipod. what do i do to get it out of recovery mode?
Reset, can sometimes exit Recovery Mode if nothing is wrong with your iPhone. If there is problem only exit is to connect to iTunes and click the Update or Restore button that iTunes offers you.

I have recently replaced my screen on my iPhone 4S. I have done many of these and have never had any issues. This time the screen wouldn't turn on so I tried a different screen but still no joy. I have plugged it into iTunes but it just tells me that the phone is in recovery mode. The screen is just black with nothing on it.
Any help much appreciatedSounds like something went wrong when you replaced the screen. The iPhone is not user servicable.
Find a competent repair shop or buy a new phone. You can no longer get that one serviced by Apple.
It's a shame as it would have only cost you $199 to get the phone replaced by Apple if it was out of warranty... -

Plug it into iTunes and restore it with your backup. You should have a backup in iTunes or iCloud.
