How do I get photos from ios7 iphone into iPhoto or aperture on my OS 10.8 iMac

Anyone know how to transfer photos from ios7 iphone into iPhoto or Aperture on my OS 10.8 iMac?

Thx.  I thought that was what the various manuals were telling me to do but it wasn't working.  Your confirmation was useful in that it prompted me to double check (again) my usb connection (in its highly inconvenient location in the back of my iMac).  Voila.  "Always suspect operator error."

have you you downloaded the icloud software on your PC? Once it is set up the photos should go from your camera roll to the photostream automatically. Just go search for download icloud in google and install it. You also need to check you have the photostream turned on on your phone. Go to settings, icloud then photostream and check it is turned on.

  • How do I transfer photos from my iPhone to iPhoto?

I have a MAC desktop and have always transfered my photos from my iPhone to iPhoto with no problem. After several weeks of not transfering photos, I sat down to do so today. However, iPhoto does not show my iPhone in the "devices" menu as it usually did. I waited for quite some time assuming maybe I had too many pictures ... but it never showed up. I disconnected and tried two more times, each time with no success. I have not changed any of my settings and my phone was unlocked prior to being connected to the desktop. Any other suggestions?

Does your phone show up in iTunes? If yes, try to start iTunes first, after the phone is recognized close it again, then launch iPhoto and see if it is recognized.

  • My iPad is ios8 and my iPhone is ios7. I want to get photos from my iPhone into the photostream. Can I?

How can I get photos taken with my ios7 iPhone into my iCloud photostream which is ios8?

If you look at the link that Old Toad posted and scroll down to the section "Minimum system requirements by feature", you'll see, that you can use iCloud to transfer your photos from iOS 7 devices:
To use iCloud, you need at least iOS 5 on iPhone 3GS, iPod touch (3rd generation), iPad, or iPad mini; or at least OS X Lion v10.7.5 on a Mac.
iCloud Photo Sharing works with iOS7, see: iCloud: Using and troubleshooting Shared Photo Streams

When I plug my iPhone into the computer it comes up in iTunes but I don't know how to get the photos from my iPhone on to the computer ??

As the manual explains, pics taken with iphone are imported to your computer the same as from any other digital camera. Itunes has nothing to do with it.

  • Hi how do I get photos from my iphone to itunes or my pc

I'm fairly new to this ! I've got itunes on my pc, but only syncs from pc to the iphone, so I can't sync my photos from my iphone to itunes - I need to get photos off the iphone onto pc / disk

When your iPhone includes photos that were captured by your iPhone, it is also detected as a digital camera when connected to your computer.
It should appear under cameras/scanners, or whatever the Windows designation with Explorer. You can transfer these photos from your iPhone to your computer this way, or try using the photo importing/transfer software that may be included with Windows.

  • HT1349 how do i get photos from my iphone to my windows computer

I can not seem to get the photos from my iphone 4S to transfer to my windows computer.  photostream is total crap and will not work. 28 photos of 300 were transfered and then it stopped working.  Need help.  Thanks,

You can transfer photos from camera roll using usb as outlined in this guide: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083.  If you are trying to transfer photos from Photo Stream or Photo Library on your phone, you will need to use an app like PhotoSync to do this.  (PhotoSync will transfer all of the photos on your phone to your computer using wi-fi.)

  • I imported a ton of photos from my iPhone into iPhoto and after deleting off phone they're not in iPhoto.... HELP PLEASE!

I have an iphone 5S, using version 7.0.4. I had a TON of photos on my camera roll which was taking up space so this evening I synced and chose to import all 600 photos into iphoto (version 9.5.1). It took a while to import all the photos as expected and seemed to be slowing counting down during the import. At the end it told me all the photos had been sucessfully imported, showed thumbnails (or similar) on a roll of them all and asked if I wanted to delete the photos from my iphone. As I was doing this due to a space issue I of course said yes. The annoying thing is that before choosing to delete I clicked on a random photo to import it just to check it was infact already imported. I had the message box telling me it had been imported and did I want a duplicate, apply to all duplicates etc. So I thought it safe to delete off my phone.
Once they were deleted, I now can't find them ANYWHERE on my iphoto. Please someone help me, surely they are somewhere? I really hope so, i have some precious photos special once in a lifetime events with my children. Grateful for any help!

It should. So they aren't shown in the Last Import smart album, right? Try the following:
1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
2 - Run Option #4, Rebuild Database, followed by Option #1 if needed.

  • How can I get photos from my iPhone?

    Hi,
I used to sync photos to my iPhone from my old pc. Now I am using a new PC and try to get all the photos on my iPhone. I tried to use Adobe Photoshop Album, but it doesn't work. It simply can't find the photos that synced from my old pc, except that it can detect photos taken from my iPhone.
Does anyone has any idea of how to get photos back? Any suggestion would be appreciated!

You cannot retrieve photos that were synced from a different computer. The only option is to email each photo that came from the other computer to yourself.

  • How do I get photos from my iPhone to my computer through Photo Stream that are older than 30 days?

I set up iCloud on my Windows computer a few months after I got my iPhone.  I set up iCloud and Photo Streaming on my iPhone when I got it, so when I eventually set up iCloud on my computer it would only download the last 30 days of photos to my computer. Is there any way to get the older pictures on my phone to my computer though the iCloud?

Photos are only stored in iCloud for 30 days. If they are still in the camera roll on your phone, you can extract them as you would photos from any digital camera. If you deleted them from the camera roll and they have rolled off of iCloud Photo Stream, I'm afraid they are gone.
