How do I get purchases from my ipod touch to appear as purchases on my comp

Please help me! I have also recently changed computer's using home share if that makes a difference I do not know.
Thank You

Purchases you make on an iPod or on another computer have to be copied to any other computer you are using, they don't just appear. Purchases are only downloaded once to whichever device you make your purchase on. You can copy your purchases from the iPod to the computer, you'll find details in this article: Copying iTunes Store purchases from your iPod or iPhone to a computer

You can also download most of your content (the notable exceptions being movies, some of which can be redownloaded if you're in the US, and audiobooks) again from the iTunes Store:

I kinda thought they wouldn't work on the iMac, but
I was hoping when I sync'd the iTouch, it might appear on the iMac.
It seems stupid to me that they don't. Why have incompatability between the platforms?

Much the same reason that windows programs will not run on a Mac (and vice versa) nor android mobile apps.  Applications are coded and compiled for a particular operating system.  iOS apps will not run on a Mac, nor will Mac programs run on an iOS device unless significantly re-coded, altered and recompiled for it (eg. pages works on both, but the core code used to compile the Mac version will be very different from the core code used to compile the iOS version).

  • I have a 120gb Classic that has no space left on it. i am going to buy a larger gb capacity ipod as soon as i get clearer instruction on how to get the old ipod content to the new ipod. How do you get content from one ipod to the other?

how do you get content from one ipod to the new one? my content is on an external hard drive not on my pc and i have run out of space on my 120gb classic. can you get old ipod content to new? my itunes has only got short cuts, the real content is on an external drive? can this be done?? please help

If the content is on an external drive, but your library knows where to find it, then it should all work. Connect your device, make some selections for what to put on it, and sync. If, on the other hand, your current iPod is the only place holding some of your media then see this user tip: Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.

How do i get music from my ipod nano onto my iphone 3g????

    You don't.
You sync music from itunes on your computer to iphone.
Everything that is on your Nano should be in itunes on your computer, as that is where it came from in the first place.
Just sync whatever you like to your iphone.

If You Are Locked Out Or Have Forgotten Your Passcode
iTunes 10 for Mac- Update and restore software on iPod, iPhone, or iPad
iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Wrong passcode results in red disabled screen
    iOS- Understanding passcodes
If you have forgotten your Restrictions code, then follow the instructions
below but DO NOT restore any previous backup. If you do then you will
simply be restoring the old Restrictions code you have forgotten. This
same warning applies if you need to restore a clean system.
A Complete Guide to Restore or Recover Your iDevice (if You Forget Your Passcode)
If you need to restore your device or ff you cannot remember the passcode, then you will need to restore your device using the computer with which you last synced it. This allows you to reset your passcode and re-sync the data from the device (or restore from a backup). If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present. Refer to Updating and restoring iPhone, iPad and iPod touch software.
Try restoring the iOS device if backing up and erasing all content and settings doesn't resolve the issue. Using iTunes to restore iOS devices is part of standard isolation troubleshooting. Restoring your device will delete all data and content, including songs, videos, contacts, photos, and calendar information, and will restore all settings to their factory condition.
Before restoring your iOS device, Apple recommends that you either sync with iTunes to transfer any purchases you have made, or back up new data (data acquired after your last sync). If you have movie rentals on the device, see iTunes Store movie rental usage rights in the United States before restoring.
Follow these steps to restore your device:
         1. Verify that you are using the latest version of iTunes before attempting to update.
         2. Connect your device to your computer.
         3. Select your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch when it appears in iTunes under Devices.
         4. Select the Summary tab.
         5. Select the Restore option.
         6. When prompted to back up your settings before restoring, select the Back Up
option (see in the image below). If you have just backed up the device, it is not
             necessary to create another.
         7. Select the Restore option when iTunes prompts you (as long as you've backed up,
you should not have to worry about restoring your iOS device).
         8. When the restore process has completed, the device restarts and displays the Apple
             logo while starting up:
After a restore, the iOS device displays the "Connect to iTunes" screen. For updating
to iOS 5 or later, follow the steps in the iOS Setup Assistant. For earlier versions of
iOS, keep your device connected until the "Connect to iTunes" screen goes away or
              you see "iPhone is activated."
         9. The final step is to restore your device from a previous backup. If you do not have a
backup to restore, then restore as New.
If you are restoring to fix a forgotten Restrictions Code, then skip Step 9 and restore as New.

  • HT1296 How do I transfer music from my Ipod touch to my computer?

I borrowed an Ipod touch from a friend to transfer his songs to my computer. but i've been unable to do that. everytime I try to sync Ipod with my Itunes, it warns me of replacing entire data (in Ipod) with data of my Itunes. How do I tranfer music from his Ipod touch to my computer without erasing any data from his device (ipod) ??
please reply me in my email id: [email protected]

If it is just the music you are after, then steps 2 & 3 have you covered. If you no longer have access to the computer you used to sync with then you may want all the information...
iTunes is designed to sync devices to a single library. When you try to switch libraries you may lose some or all of the information curently stored on the device. To prevent this you should be able to:
Backup the device to a new installation
Transfer your purchases into an authorized library
Recover any other media using third party tools as suggested in this post from forum regular Zevoneer
Restore the device from the backup
This process should switch the association of the device to the new library, preserving the data and settings in your apps.
May also be prudent to attempt a backup to iCloud directly from the device before you start... Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup > iCloud Backup > On. It won't save any media but it would preserve the general account settings and documents in case anything goes wrong while you are trying to extract your other data.
When you get it all fixed, make a backup!

  • How do you transfer content from an iPod touch to iTunes?

How do you transfer content from an ipod touch to itunes without buying another software?

You can't.  Mobile devices are not set up to transfer most items to a computer and if that's what you want to do (with the noted exception) then you have to pay for it.
Some of the information below has subsequently been summarized and duplicated by turingtest2 in the document: Recovering your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device - https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3991
Your i-device was not designed for unique storage of your media. It is not a backup device and media transfer was designed for you maintaining a master copy of your media on a computer which is itself properly backed up against loss. Syncing is one way, computer to device, updating the device content to the content on the computer, not updating or restoring content on a computer. The exception is iTunes Store purchased content.
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1848 - only media purchased from iTunes Store
For transferring other items from an i-device to a computer you will have to use third party commercial software. Examples (check the web for others; this is not an exhaustive listing, nor do I have any idea if they are any good):

In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iTunes account on your iOS device, you need to sign out from your iOS device first, then sign back in using your updated details. (Settings > store, scroll down and tap your ID)
