How do I get rid of a forged site that keeps coming back every time I log on ???

Forgery comes up all the time.

Deleting sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and Tab Groups and open and closed (undo) tabs to get lost and you will have to recreate them (make a note or bookmark them if possible).
You can use this button to go to the currently used Firefox profile folder:

How do I get rid of a dialog box that keeps coming back even though I press Cancel?

I was looking up Olympic stats on  Norwegian website, and must have inadvertently clicked a link. The dialog box says: "There is no application set to open the URL nasjoner:2"
It goes on to tell me to search the App Store , choose an application, or cancel.

  • How do I get rid of the space game that keeps popping up every time I open Firefox?

There is a space game that pops up every time I open the internet in Fire Fox. It does not do it in with Google Chrome or Internet Explorer. I have to click "control", "alt" "a" to get it to stop playing every time or it will continually send up little space like ships and make shooting noises (so annoying). I just want it off of there, so I don't have to mess with it. Can you please help me remove it.

If this isn't on the built-in Firefox home page, it could be caused by an add-on. To rule out one of your extensions is involved, could you try Firefox's Safe Mode? That's a standard diagnostic tool to deactivate extensions and some advanced features of Firefox. More info: [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode]].
You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using either:
    * "3-bar" menu button > "?" button > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
    * Help menu > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
Not all add-ons are disabled: Flash and other plugins still run
After Firefox shuts down, a small dialog should appear. Click "Start in Safe Mode" (''not'' Reset).
    Any difference?

  • I have attempted to change my home page a number of times but it keeps going back to a Bing/Google search page (set up by eSnips). Where do I got to get rid of this home page that keeps poping up every time I open Firefox?

I had downloaded something from eSnips and likely I missed the "set my home page" check box. So when I opened Firefox, I ended up with this eSnips "Google/ Bing" search page.

After trying many of the suggestions found online I found that the only thing that worked was to completely uninstall firefox and re-install it again!

  • How do I get rid of an Adobe program that keeps wanting to open on my machine.

I keep receiving a request to download an adobe site Adobe Flash runtune which i have allowed and fter it does nothing but repeat I then rejected it.
But it will not go away how do I get rid of it?

Are you sure that it comes from Adobe?
Can you post a screenshot of what you get: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1070933
There are many fake pop-ups that will most likely infect you with malware if you let it install.
Only download Adobe updates from adobe.com or macromedia.com websites.

  • How can I get rid of a system dialogue that keeps reappearing?

Ever since the latest system update, when my Apple TV goes into the slideshow mode, a dialogue box keeps popping up. It briefly disappears when the picture changes but I can't get rid of it permanently.  It reads:
"Wirelessly send what's on your ios device or computer to this display using Airplay. To learn more, go to apple.com/airplay. (1) Choose Wi-Network [name of my local Wi-fi network appears] (2) Choose this Apple TV."
I assume that the numbers 1 and 2 are options but no action I take on the Apple TV remote or the Logitech universal remote I use clears the dialogue.
How can I eliminate this dialogue? It really defeats the purpose of the slide show!

Same issue for me. I've updated the Conference Room Mode, but now when I start the slideshow it goes back to the Apple TV Menu? Any advise? Thanks!

  • How do i get rid of the google translator that keeps poping-up

i dont need a translator for my pages but it seems that google
has forced one on us. I dont have google toolbar installed and google translator is not to be found anywhere in options or other...
But i know for sure that it is javascript, if i turn java off, it gets rid of it but also prevents me from using other pages that use java.
    Anyway around this ?????????
    Thanks

Some pages have a translator embedded in the page code that might get triggered by the ''fr'' in the user agent.

  • How can i get rid of the "macshop " ads that keep appearing on my browser, as i keep the bobups blocked and cookies of third parties and advertisments blocked as well

Lately every time i open my browser Safari Version 7.1 on Macbook pro with retina display IOS X 10.9.5 i keep getting these ads from "macshop" also the pages keep directing to files fetcher and i don't know why it keep doing that although i have blocked popups

There is no need to download anything to solve this problem.
From the Safari menu bar, select
              Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Extensions
Turn all extensions OFF and test. If the problem is resolved, turn extensions back ON and then disable them one or a few at a time until you find the culprit.

  • How do I get rid of a yahoo toolbar that keeps popping up and is not on the program list of my computer?

Immediately after I updated my firefox a couple of weeks ago, the browser started to display a yahoo toolbar. At the time my husband took it off using the control panel and add/remove program function on the computer.
since this am, the toolbar has come back up. I did NOT do anything to request it, or put it there. It is not showing up on my program list, I cannot find it when I do a search of my computer. When I went to yahoo help "remove toolbar" the two suggestions were to do that or use the settings button to remove it, but the settings menu on this doesn't have that option, unless maybe I would create an account, log in, and then remove it. I don't really want to do that either.
I don't know where this came from, and don't really trust it. I would like to take it off, but can't seem to figure out how.

I figured it out! Click on the Orange 'Firefox' tab on the upper left hand side of the Firefox browser, Choose 'Options', then deselect 'Yahoo! toolbar'.

  • How do I get rid of the letter B that keeps showing up when I hit tab?

I don't know where the letter B came from but everytime I hit tab it pops up. I have tried a few things:
    -Preferences
    -Keyboard
    -Set lists to none.
    Any other recommendations?
    Thanks.

You should go to the Apple Store and get it checked out.
That's weird. Never heard of that one before.

  • How can i get rid of Safe Search permanently - it keeps coming up as a plugin

When I try to search in Firefox, the search keeps going through Safe Search, which apparently is a site that hijacks the Firefox browser. I think I have deleted it using my anti-virus program, but Firefox keeps listing it as a plug-in

By the way, some extensions have the ability to hide, so it can be useful to test searching in
    '''Firefox's Safe Mode'''
This is a standard diagnostic tool to deactivate extensions and some advanced features of Firefox. More info: [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode]].
You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using
Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled ''(Flash and other plugins still run)''
In the dialog, click "Start in Safe Mode" (''not'' Reset)
Any improvement? Please check the Extensions section of the Add-ons page to see whether anything new is appearing and if it can be removed.
If the problem still occurs in Safe Mode, you may want to check:
    '''Connection Settings'''
By default, Firefox will connect using IE's settings, which I think are the same as Windows' settings. Please check both of the following:
    (A) Firefox
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced > Network mini-tab > "Settings" button
The default is "Use system proxy settings" but try "No proxy"
    (B) Windows
Either in IE or the Windows Control Panel, call up the Internet Options dialog. On the Connections tab, click LAN Settings. If anything is checked here, make a note of it, then try unchecking everything.
    Any difference?

  • I want to get rid of the alert box that keeps coming up that says the server at .... is taking too long to respond

I would rather it just keep trying to connect rather than continuously pop that stinking box up. It's very annoying

Firefox 4+ versions use a new build-in home page named <b>about:home</b> with a Google search bar on it (no internet access needed to load that page).<br />
That about:home page only shows some snippets and has a button to restore the previous session if applicable.
If you want a home page without the Restore Previous Session button and the snippets then set another page as the home page like www.google.com used in Firefox 3 versions.
You may be seeing a similar ad on the Google site to install Google Chrome.<br />
In that case use the close X on that ad to close that pop-up and it should stay away unless local storage gets cleared.
