Hello! I recently acquired an iPhone and have been adding albums to it from my iTunes library. I then started adding artwork to my albums on my iTunes library to make it look more interesting upon playback. However, this has somehow resulted in many tracks being duplicated on my iPhone - even though no duplicated tracks can be seen in my iTunes library for me to unclick and try to resolve manually. So I just got a new windows computer and transferred all my songs from my old windows machine to this one. Unfortunately, a lot of the files have numbers in front of their name, in fact almost all of them do (I'm talking about the actual file in their respective folders). I started to rename each song, but that is taking way too long. P.S. the sort cuts for play/pause/skip/reverse only work for windows media center, which really isn't great. When I try to use them they will literally launch windows media center. is there a way to change this so that they will work for itunes?

You explained it fine. FCP recognizes the end of your sequence. YOu can't delete the end. If you are getting loads of black at the end of your movie that would suggest that you have a clip somewhere way down the line that you are not seeing. Press shift-z to fit the timeline in the timeline window. Your movie should fill the timeline. If not, look at the end of the timeline and delete any media that you don't want to be included.

Instead of trying to re-invent the wheel on this one, take a look at an article such as this one to help you take care of these exclamations. Basically, it means iTunes is unable to locate the file on your computer anymore.

I don't know if I can help you with what's been recorded but may be able to assist in getting rid of the problem.
1. Don't know if the MOTU has a reset procedure on the rack unit, if so, do that first.
2. Turn off/disable wireless if you're using it.
3. In Logic raise the I/O buffers to 128
4. If you have a different slot, move the 424 card. One slot was noisy on many Macs.
(5) As mentioned, Make sure the audio interface is using Internal clock.

How do I get rid of a mystery file-less track playing on my project?

I have a completed song on garageband using about 15 tracks. At some point in the song, for about 6 seconds, there an be heard the remnants of an earlier voice track that is no longer existent. And yet it plays it! And I can't get rid of it. I have gone thru every track and the sounds are not on any existent track. And yet it plays everytime I play (or export) the song. It's like a Garageband ghost. I found somebody else describing the same situation on these forums here, but no solution was offered. How can I get rid of these unwanted sounds?

On your PC, open up Computer and navigate to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support. Inside of this folder should be a file called SQLite3.dll. Copy this file by right->clicking on it and choosing Copy.
Then go back one folder so that you are again in the Apple folder. Look for the Mobile Device Support folder. Open it up and paste the file inside of it.

Install iTunes Folder Watch and set its option to check for dead tracks on startup. This will root out any tracks that are no longer in your folders, and can add any that are in your folders, but not in iTunes.

while not exporting markers is one way to cure this, it's not very effective if you do want to place your chapter markers in fcp and also maybe place some compression markers. i usually place chapter markers in fcp and don't have an issue with the quicktime text track rearing it's head. do a search in the dvd sp forum, this comes up a lot. here's one thread. http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=1088176&#1088176

My project's start time is 8-bars before any material, or tempos, or anything...
Can't move the start time back to ")" (zero)    STUCK!! at -8
The song now has 20 seconds of dead air time in a pre-roll.
None of these worked or revealed anything...
-tried making a new copy of song
-looked into every track's file information looking for a spurious entry
-tried deleting the time/space

When playing a music-title the name of the title and it's progress is displayed in the box at the top of iTunes, even if the music is already stopped or ended. This display is impeding f.i. when copying music-albums to iPhones and watching the progress. Can anyone tell me please how to make the display of the last played music-title disappear?
