Sounds like you have the Grid turned on. Tap Options and turn off Grid.
The grid is used to assist in composing a photo using "the rule of thirds". Rather than centering your subject line the subject up on a line or intersection of the line for a more pleasing photo. Landscape photos can also look better by aligning the horizon with one of the horizontal lines

If it happens again the make sure that you aren't suppressing website colors.
Make sure that you allow pages to choose their colors and that you haven't enabled High Contrast in the Accessibility settings.

You can check the target line in the Firefox desktop shortcut (right-click: Properties) to make sure that nothing is appended after the path to the Firefox program.
Do a clean reinstall and delete the Firefox program before (re)installing a fresh copy of the current Firefox release.

How can I get rid of add-ons which I no longer want?

I downloaded an add-on, recommended on the Apple website. However, my Final Cut Pro X is going really slow and keeps quiting!! As a start I wanted to get rid of the add-on as its rubbsih anyway, Ive tried getting rid of it in the trash but all the effect, transitions etc are still there. As-well as that, anyone have any idea how to stop it from quiting if this doesnt work?

Start the FxFactory application, and choose 'Uninstall FxFactory' from the Actions menu.
That would be the instruction if you still have the application somewhere.
I think if you go to your main hard drive and open the Library/Application Support folder, you'll see a folder named Noise Industries. Delete that folder.

This sounds more like a Windows question, than a Firefox question. When you say that an image shows up every time you open your computer, do you mean every time you turn on your computer, or every time you start Firefox?

I have an add-on called "WindowShopper" that somehow recently turned up in Firefox (v20.0, Mac OS X 10.7.5). I don't know how it got into Firefox -- *I* certainly didn't add it -- and I can't find it anywhere in "Tools > Add-Ons," "Extensions," "Preferences," or anywhere else. If I could find it, I'd delete it. It's maddening, I loathe it, it's buggy (its "helpful" pop up screens tend to "stick," obscuring the product underneath), and it seems the only way to get rid of it is to go back to using Safari, which I'd rather not do.
Please tell me how I can get rid of this "WindowShopper" add-on.

jscher2000 -- Thank you from the bottom of my heart! THAT was the problem. I didn't know Vuze was made by Conduit (never looked), and had never even heard of Conduit until just now.I used to use Vuze as a torrent D/Ler, and, apparently, when Vuze underwent its recent major overhaul, it installed this "Vuze Remote Community Toolbar," which I never looked at, as I'm not too quick, and I knew I had Vuze components. Had I opened the Extension I would have seen the dead-giveaway phrases "Delivers all our best apps to your browser" and "Automatic Updates" at "Default."
Removing this extension and restarting Firefox did the trick -- WindowShopper is gone.
