How do I get rid of an adobe textbox that shows up every time I open Firefox?
Adobe installed an update, I believe to my flashplayer and when it was finished, every time I opened my google page(Mozilla) I got a big box that said Adobe installer. There was no way to remove it so I went to add/delete programs and found the installer program and deleted it. Now instead of the Adobe installer box, I get a text box that says that the following path cannot be found. C\Documents+and+Settings\user\Application+Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profil es\3oq0kps1default\extensions\{E2883E8F-472F-4fb0-9522-AC9BF3716A7}\ch rome\content\getPlusPlus_Adobe_reg.exe
This happens every time I open Mozilla. I get rid of the box by either hitting "OK" or the X at the upper right hand corner of the text box. Then the box goes away and Google opens.
I want to get ride of this box. How do I do it.
Thank you.
For future Flash Player updates, to get around that download manager, download the installer directly from http://http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/fp_distribution3.html

Attempted to create a slideshow (version 9.3) and get the dreaded spinning ball that will not go away; iphoto locked up when open. how do I get rid of the ball. Have forced quit seveal times and opens with the spinning ball.
Make a temporary, backup copy if you don't have a backup copy of the library (select the library and type Command+D) and apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Since only one option can be run at a time start with Option #1, followed by #3 and then #4
Launch iPhoto and try again.
Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

How do I get rid of an Adobe program that keeps wanting to open on my machine.
I keep receiving a request to download an adobe site Adobe Flash runtune which i have allowed and fter it does nothing but repeat I then rejected it.
But it will not go away how do I get rid of it?
JohnarthurdaleyAre you sure that it comes from Adobe?
Can you post a screenshot of what you get: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1070933
There are many fake pop-ups that will most likely infect you with malware if you let it install.
Only download Adobe updates from adobe.com or macromedia.com websites. -
How do I get rid of the annoying date that shows on my iPhoto screen?
When I open iPhoto and scrool thru my photos a date overlays part of my screen. When I scroll with arrows the date reflects the roll that is in view. When I scroll with mouse wheel the date does not change at all. How can I get rid of that overlay date?
The solution of unchecking "Show scrolling information" works, however, it did not work for me until I closed iPhoto and reopened it.

How do I get rid of the tips messages that show up just underneath the search box?
I have google as my home page. I am trying to figure out how to get rid of the tip or brief FYI message that shows up just underneath the search box. Can you help? Thanks
Do you mean the snippets that you see on the about:home Home page?
You can hide the box that shows the snippets with code in userContent.css
* http://kb.mozillazine.org/userContent.css
<pre><nowiki>@-moz-document url(about:home){
/* hide snippet container on the about:home page */
#snippetContainer { display: none !important; }
</nowiki></pre>

My choices are: keep my current settings or I am aware of this change and approve it. If I pick either one and say "yes" it will not go away. If I click on the close "x" it will not go away either.
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
*Do not click the Reset button on the Safe mode start window or otherwise make changes.

Ever since I upgraded to v20 of Firefox a problem has occurred where I will close Firefox properly (close browser and then quit application as I am on a Mac) but when I open it again I will get a message. This message is "Oh this is embarrassing..." and try to get me to reopen my tabs I had before. This will also happen if I have just one tab open and then close it. I was wondering if there is a way to fix it!
Hi susiqw, it's hard to see when the text is all written as a single sentence, but the steps are:
(1) In a new tab, type or paste '''about:config''' in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.
(2) In the search box in that tab, type or paste '''sessions''' and pause while the list is filtered
(3) Double-click '''browser.sessionstore.resume_from_crash''' to toggle its value from true to false. -
I upgraded to FF 8.0 but have been unable to get the App to copy over to the App folder. It asks me if I want to overwrite the existing file of the same name. When I try, it tells me it cannot because certain items had to be skipped. It tells me to go to File<Get Info and make sure "Locked" is deselected and that the permissions are all set correctly. However, it does not tell me what these "Items" so I can check them. I have tried to eject the Firefox disk as well as move it to the trash but, no matter what I do, as soon as I open the browser again, the disk pops back up on my desktop and the Application copy window opens back up.
Make sure that Firefox gets installed properly.<br />
Open the Firefox disk image (DMG) file and drag the Firefox program to the application folder on your hard drive.<br />
You shouldn't double-click the Firefox application to run it from the disk image, but drag it out of the DMG folder instead.
