How do I get rid of an Application "Hole"

In one of the Application pages of my iPhone, there is a hole where an application icon should be. There is no application in that hole, and I can't "wiggle" an icon into that hole -- that just moves the hole over by 1. I can't delete the hole or move it except by moving the icons around it. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I remove this hole?
Thanks!

It was a fantom iMovie icon that went away when I went to the Wiggle screen and deleted iMovie from the phone. Now I'm afraid I'll not be able to get iMovie back on my phone.
Oh, well. At least now download is working since I reset the DNS Cache. Thanks for the advice and message board FAQ, Apple!

How can I get rid of some applications which I don't want anymore?

Hold the app icon until it wiggles then tap the "X"
    or
Settings > General > Usage > select the app > Delete App
iOS stock apps can not be removed.
If you do not want them to show up on your devices anymore you can hide the:

  • How do you get rid of paused applications in the dock?

Suddenly I have tiny icons in my dock because there are all sorts of invisible paused icons. I can delete them individually, but they come back every startup. I tried the advise in the post
    "How to permanently delete..."
but they didn't work. I don't have any VirusScanner or other such software.
I have OS 10.6.8 on this laptop..

When you hover over one of the 13 ovals, it displays the name of the application, eg "Remote Mouse - Paused"

  • How Do I Get Rid Of The Application Toolbar In CS4?

I can seemingly turn everything else off. I don't want the Application Frame. I don't want the Application Toolbar. I just don't want it. My screen real estate is valuable to me and it's in the way. I can't even dock it on a side or as a tab somewhere. I need the vertical screen real estate. Where do I turn this off? And if it isn't possible--why NOT? This is a serious gripe and I'm going to see if I can scrounge up an old copy of PS. This is a waste of $700.

I humbly submit that I was wrong. And sorry for the rant; this has been bugging me for a while. The menu item was indeed there--after I restarted PS while holding down command-option-shift. Best guess is something corrupted while/shortly after installing.

  • I have a big problem: how do I get rid of a persistent keylogger?

I did a reinstall of OS Snow Leopard and that totally solved my keylogger problem:
    1. My computer was no longer slow, it didn't keep making constant noises as if there was a process in the background when I wasn't using my computer
    2. All websites loaded super quickly and there wasn't this horrible 5 second lag when I typed something or a skip in videos when I watched something...
    but then,,,,,2 days later....
as I was in gmail, MY SCREEN WENT TOTALLY WHITE
and I had to restart my computer...and now THIS ANNOYING KEYLOGGER problem has returned.
How do I get rid of the a*hole who is targeting my computer? I don't have time to reinstall Snow Leopard again and again. How can I get rid of this annoying keylogger that is making my computer SUPER SLOW?

I have to note here that when I launch Activity Monitor- for some reason this computer has loads of inactive processes running ALL THE TIME, when my other computers do not have this problem.

Many years ago synced iCal with Microsoft program. Since installing Lion whenever I try to create an event in iCal it flashes up message "Unable to open Microsoft sync services Power PC applications no longer supported." How do I get rid of message?

Lion no longer supports PowerPC apps. If this is Microsoft Office 2008 (Entourage 2008) then you should disable the syncing services.  (I don't have Office 2008 installed anymore so I don't know exactly what it's called anymore.)  If you have Microsoft Office 2004 or earlier, then it can't be run on Lion at all since Lion removed Rosetta, which is what allowed a PPC app to run on an Intel based Mac.
Also, I believe Microsoft removed sync services from the current Outlook 2011 (which replaces Entourage) so even upgrading to a newer version of Microsoft Office will not get you back that calendar sync feature.  Supposedly Microsoft is working on a new syncing system, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

No you should be fine. (The MobileMe service is being shut down, anyway, so there should be no impact at all.)

Drag it to the trash icon in your dock.  This is a disk image, and you need to "eject" it, to get rid of it.

  • How do I get rid of the prompt to unlock the "Local Items" keychain in various applications?

How do I get rid of the prompt to unlock the "Local Items" keychainin various applications?

Generally the easiest fix is to go into Finder. Click go at the very top of your screen. Hold down option, you will see a Library folder pop up. Go into the Library and then into Keychain. Delete everything in this folder. Restart. If that doesn't fix it go to Spotlight (the little magnifying glass in the top right) type Keychain Access. Make sure the little lock in the top left of that window is unlocked. Hope this helps.

After I loaded Firefox and used it the 1st time, a blue bar appears above the internet page tab that says "Downloading the latest applications". No matter how long I leave the internet and compute on, it never finishes downloading. And every time I restart Firefox, the same blue bar appears. How do I get rid of this?
    == This happened ==
    Every time Firefox opened
== After I loaded Firefox the 1st time, and every time I open the Firefox browser.

This can be a problem with the Silverlight plugin.
