How do i get rid of an update notification on my app store application?

the notification appeared since the unboxing of my brand new iMac. when i tried updating it shows someone else's apple id and i can't get rid of it.

You installed a hacked application, originally from the Mac App Store. It contains the receipt for a different application, downloaded from another account. You need to identify and remove the hacked application.
Triple-click the line of text below on this page to select it:
kMDItemAppStoreHasReceipt=1
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C).
In the Finder, press the key combination command-F to open a search window, or select
File ▹ Find
from the menu bar. In the search window, select
Search: This Mac
from the row of tokens below the toolbar. Below that is a popup menu initially showing Kind. From that menu, select  Other...
A sheet will drop down. In that sheet, select Raw Query and click OK or press return.
Now there will be a text box to the right of popup menu. Click in that box and paste (command-V).
The search window will show all the App Store products you've installed. Compare those search results with the list of your purchases from the App Store. To see the complete list, you may need to unhide hidden purchases. If any applications were download from the App Store using other Apple ID accounts that you know of, sign in to the store under each of those ID's and check the purchases.
If any of the items listed in the search window are not listed among your purchases in the App Store, move them to the Trash. You may be prompted for your administrator password. Empty the Trash.

  • TS1702 I made a request to update an App in my iPad, but I found out that it was not supported. How can I get rid of the annoying number from the App Store now?

    I don' t want to loose my data!!

    As of the current version, I don't believe there is a way to tell the App Store app to ignore updates. You can send Apple feedback at http://www.apple.com/feedback/, but in short there is nothing you can do. As long as you don't try to update the app (either pressing the update button or update all), the app should continue to work fine with your data remaining intact. It has been a while since I've tried to update an app that isn't supported (last time was under iOS 3 or 4), so I can't comment about what would happen if you did try to update it. (My best guess is it will display an alert saying it is not compatible, and leave the previous version there, but not take away the 'update' in the APp Store app updates page).

  • Attempts to rebuild thumbnails did not work. How do I get rid of message "Updating thumbnails" every time I open iPhoto?

    After repairing and rebuilding the iPhoto libary/database, I attempted to rebuild the thumbnails on an older Mac Book (10.7.5) and iPhoto 9.0. I believe there was not enough disk space for this function. Now when I open iPhoto, I get the message "Updating thumbnails." I then need to hit "cancel" to open iPhoto, How can I get rid of the "Updating thmbnails" message?

    Basically none.
    That is the problem
    you need a minimum of 10GB of free space just for normal os - with little or none y0u risk damaging yoru iPhoto database and other important system components - you must make space immediately
    Exporting photos is not the solution - unless you can delete  some large files that are not needed The fastest way is to purchase an external hard drive formatted Mac OS extended and move your iPhtoo library to it -
    Moving the iPhoto library is safe and simple - quit iPhoto and drag the iPhoto library intact as a single entity to the external drive - depress the option key and launch iPhoto using the "select library" option to point to the new location on the external drive - fully test it and then trash the old library on the internal drive (test one more time prior to emptying the trash)
    And be sure that the External drive is formatted Mac OS extended (journaled) (iPhoto does not work with drives with other formats) and that it is always available prior to launching iPhoto
    And backup soon and often - having your iPhoto library on an external drive is not a backup and if you are using Time Machine you need to check and be sure that TM is backing up your external drive
    I would not put my iphoto library on a flash drive - and usually they are not formated correctly wso will nto even work

  • Templates: how do I get rid of orphaned updates?

    I've made changes to my template, and then undone those changes.  However, the change still shows up in the child pages, greyed out, so I can't delete it.  This has to do with changes made outside <html> where I got the warning message:
    You have added or changed code outside the <html> tag.  This change will not be copied to documents based on the template unless you insert this tag in the <head> section of your template: <!--TemplateInfo codeOutsideHTMLIsLocked="true"-->
    As an example, my template reads:
    <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
    <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
    <head>
    I've bolded the problem section in the child pages (it's actually greyed out):
    <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
    <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"><!-- InstanceBegin template="/Templates/main_template.dwt" codeOutsideHTMLIsLocked="false" -->
    <head>
    How do I get rid of the bold material in the child pages?  BTW, I have more than one instance of this happening, so my pages are cluttered.
    I deleted the line <!-- TemplateInfo codeOutsideHTMLIsLocked="true" --> from my template and updated, but the bold  text  above still shows up in all the child pages.
    BTW, any new page I create from this template also has the bolded text in it, even though it's no longer in the template.
    Thank you for your help.

    This isn't an endorsement since I haven't used it.

    That doesn't mean that you have updates.
    Not sure how that app works, - normally means you have a notification for that app - what happen when you go into the app?
    If you had update it would be a red number for the app store icon

  • How do I get rid of the update request on screen when I am running version 21

    How do I get rid of the request to update my version of Firefox below my search request on the front page when I have already updated to Firefox version 21. My search engine is http://www.google.co.uk/firefox
    Thanks for any help.

    Try to use the SearchReset extension to reset some preferences to the default values.
    *https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/searchreset/
    Note that the SearchReset extension only runs once and then uninstalls automatically, so it won't show on the "Firefox > Add-ons" page (about:addons).
    Current Firefox versions use the default search engine (pref: browser.search.defaultenginename) to set the search engine that is used on the about:home page.
    Check the <b>browser.search.defaultenginename</b> pref on the <b>about:config</b> page and make sure that it is set to the default value Google.
    *browser.search.defaultenginename
    Currently selected search engine:
    *browser.search.selectedEngine

  • How do I get rid of this settings notification?

    After I updated to 7.0.3, I got a 1 notification on my Settings icon. I have been through every menu in settings, and I cannot find out what the notification is for. How do I get rid of it?

    I am having the same problem and I have done everything you've done. I searched Apple's website for a link to get some customer service but it's like trying to find a needle in a haystack. Maybe an Apple genius can point me in the right direction. Timothy, you there?!

  • I want the Google and Yahoo fight on my browser to go away. How do I get rid of these stupid notifications asking me to make one or the other my defaults?

    I use Google. My browser is set with Google.ca as my homepage and Google is my default search engine.
    For a while I was getting messages asking me if I wanted to know how to make Yahoo my defaults...I managed to get rid of that crap...
    But now I get bars popping up at the top of my screen asking me if I want to switch to Google...either my homepage or my default search engine...toss-up which one will come up when I open my browser.
    Even though everything is set for Google I still get these obnoxious pushed "suggestions".
    How do I get rid of these?
    Right now it's looking like using IE is the only way...

    You will get them on IE. I suggest you also contact Google support, as this is also a problem on their end. I too have everything set to Google on both Firefox, Opera, IE, and Chrome and the only one not getting the annoying banners is surprising Google Chrome.

  • How do I get rid of my email notification red cloud?

    After updating my phone - my email seems to want to let me know how many emails I have in my inbox rather than how many unread. Right now I have over 180 in that red cloud. I never know when I get an email now, and I can't find any unread messages anywhere!

    Get rid of it where ? You can log out of the account that you are using for buying/downloading content by tapping on the id in Settings > iTunes & App Store, and you can then log back in.
