How do i get rid of authorized accounts?

I have an iMac and a Vista PC. I noticed that there are 4 machines authorized to my iTunes account. This is probably due to various PC upgrades and reinstallations etc. How do I get rid of these old authorized machines from my account?

Take a look here and see if it helps:

    Hello aweirandyski.1975,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
From what you're describing appears to be Activation Lock, a security measure provided by Apple that makes it harder for people to use a lost or stolen device.  You will need to enter the password for the Apple ID the device is prompting you for.

  • HT1920 I was recently asked for account info on an account that used an email address that had been hacked. how can I get rid of this account record or the account itself.

I was recently asked for a password for an email on the App store. The email was very old and was one that was hacked so I removed it from my email list. Now I have no record of the account, its password or security questions, and obviously I can't receive email on the account. How can I eliminate this account. I may have already divulged ninfo to this address that could get into the hands of a hacker.

Email size limits are imposed by mail providers, not the operating system.  They usually vary in the 20-25 MB range.
The limit is for an individual email plus any attachments it may have.  The only way to release that email message is to reduce the size of the attachment if you can do so.  The limitation itself is from your email provider so there isn't anything you can do to change the limit.

  • How do I get rid of mystery account?

I'm running Leopard on a MacBook. We bought this computer new but someone else in my company who didn't know Macs was the first to use this computer for some testing and they setup the initial admin account with their account information. Their account name was johndoe.
I didn't have their password, so when I went to setup the computer for it's intended purpose I used the startup cd to reset their password. I’m not sure what I did from there it could have been one of the following:
I changed the name of the admin account from johndoe to admin then created a new user account called jdoe
I created a new account called admin then changed their account name to jdoe
I created a new account called admin then deleted their account and created a new one called jdoe
At any rate, everything seemed to be fine until I started installing software using ARD. I installed some application preferences on this computer and another computer of the same model using a package I had created with PackageMaker. (The other computer was setup by me and had all the account names correct from the start.) The application prefs were installed in the admin account in the Users/admin/Library/Preferences folder. The application on the problem computer didn't seem to be pulling those preferences so I checked the permissions and saw where the owner of the file was listed as johndoe. I went in to change the permissions in the Get Info dialog box and I noticed the new feature where you can add users. I checked this pull down list and the user account name listed there is jdoe. So I'm confused on why the files are being installed with the johndoe account listed as the owner. As far as I can tell this account no longer exists so why is it being listed as the owner of the files I'm now copying to this computer? I can go in and change the owner of the files, but it's doing this on every file I copy to this computer and it has become quite time consuming to change them all. The other computer that I setup with the correct accounts works fine. It shows the owner of the files to be the admin account since that is the account they are being installed under. I know that originally the johndoe account was considered the administrator account for the computer, but that account was either deleted or the renamed so why does it still show up when I'm installing? I've run Disk Utility to try to clear up any permissions issues but that hasn't helped either. I'm pretty far along in my installation process and don't want to wipe the drive and start all over so I'm hoping there's an easy fix for this that won't involve reinstalling everything at this point. Thanks for any help!

It's not a used Mac - brand new out of the box. I just let our web developer use it to view our company website in Safari while he was updating our site to ensure it would work on a Mac. He setup the account before I could and now I'm just trying to get the computer setup for the purpose for which it was intended. As a side note, I just tried installing the same files under another account I setup on the computer and it still shows the johndoe account as being the owner of the file even though it was installed under this new account.

  • How can I get rid of old accounts?

Got a new i-Mac and transferred (via fire wire) all my old stuff from my old iMac (the really old one with the little igloo under the screen). There were two accounts on my old iMac, now they show up on my new one. I'd like to consolidate and just have one. Anyone know how?

System Preferences > Accounts when logged is as an admin.
BTW, it's a little safer to use two accounts if you are at all error-prone.  A standard (non-admin) account for daily use, and an admin account for when you need it.

  • Hi everyone, i bought a used iphone4with iOS 7.1.1 i want to delete the icloud account. I can't found how to contact the owner of this icloud account. How can i get rid of this account pleaseee help me out

    [email protected] up the iphone

    You can't.
Return it and get your money back if you can.
There is no way to bypass activation lock. Only the owner of the account it's locked with can remove the lock.

  • How do you get rid of email accounts under advanced

how do you change the advanced account

If you mean the one's shown under Allow Sending From, you don't.  Just decide which one you want to use and don't use the other.  If you want to discontinue using iCloud mail all toghether, go to Settings>iCloud and turn Mail to Off.

  • How do I get rid of other accounts linked to my iCloud?

I just purchased a brand new iPhone 5S and I am currently working to restore the settings and info that was backed up in my iCloud from my iPhone 5. When I logged into my primary account (I've had maybe one or two other Apple accounts due to forgetting a password), it's asking for a password to several other accounts, none of which are familiar to me or belong to me. I'm confused about why it is doing this and I am concerned that maybe my previous iPhone was hacked or whatever it might be. Overall, I just wanted to have my one main account that I purchase all of my music and apps through linked to my iCloud and I don't want these random accounts to keep popping up, asking for a password. Can anyone help?

If this is happening while restoring the iCloud backup of your old phone it's because there must have been apps or other purchased media on it that were purchased using these other IDs.  During the restore process, iCloud will download purchased media back to the phone from the iTunes & App store but you must authenticate the IDs used to purchase this media by providing the password before it will do so.  If you don't know it, see if you have to option to cancel the prompt and continue restoring the backup.  That will allow the restore to proceed without restoring the media purchased with these IDs.

  • How do i get rid of an old apple id from an iphone upon activation IOS 7

This phone was sold to me by a friend and it had and account upon activation, my freind doesn't know the information how do I get rid of the account so I can use the phone?? Please I need to know I lost my other phone and I am trying to use this one.

The "friend" will have to log in to his or her Apple ID and disable Find my iPhone. Or unlink by logging in to iCloud using the correct Apple ID and password and unlinking the phone. See: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5661 for what your friend has to do before you can use the phone.
I am truly amazed that a friend would sell you a phone without wiping out its contents, which must contain a lot of sensitive personal information. And to wipe it clean the friend would have had to disable Find my iPhone.
Activation Lock is Apple's antitheft feature, that prevents a stolen iPhone from ever being used again. See: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5818 for how it works.
