How do I get rid of BB App World Notification?
I just got my BB last night, so I'm very new to this, but I did the update on the BB App World, and there were some apps that I did not want (such as Yahoo Messenger) that it kept coming up that there was an update available for... so I uninstalled those apps... but the Black Berry App World notification keeps coming up saying that there are updates available for those apps. Do I HAVE to reinstall and update them, even if I don't want to ever use them? It's annoying that it shows up with my new messages all the time.
Sorry if these are stupid questions, only had the BB for less than a day!
Update* I reinstalled the apps, and the notifications are still there... and I click on them, and updating isn't an option anymore... just Reviews, Recommend, & Screenshots... I can't get rid of it!
Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
From your post, I can't quite tell where this notification is coming up. If it's on your homescreen (at the top, where the VM, new message, etc. notifications show), then the resolution will be different. Check this image for what that notification will look like:
If it is indeed that one, then you need to find, in your Messages, a message from AppWorld -- deal with it (read, delete, etc.) and the notification should go away. If you can't find the messages, then try a search:
KB21879How to search for unread messages on the BlackBerry smartphone
However, if the notification is within MyWorld itself, then the resolution might be different. It's actually quite odd for AppWorld to continue to notify for uninstalled apps...are they actually in the uninstalled section of MyWorld? In any event, try this clearing the AppWorld application cache:
1. Open App World
2. Go to My World
3a. For keyboard-based BB's -- Hold down the ALT key and then press, in sequence R, then S, then T
3b. For Storm/Pearl -- Hold the num-lock (!?123) button so it locks and then press, in sequence 3, then 4, then (
4. If your BB locks after issuing the cache clear, perform a battery pull reboot
5. Return to AppWorld. Log into MyWorld (if applicable) and try again.
Hopefully it'll work for you! Good luck and let us know!

How do I get rid of an app update notification that doesn't apply to my version of OS
I have an app on my iMac which is running Snow Leopard. A recent udate has been issued that only applies to Lion OS but the update notification still shows on my App Store. I can't get rid off it even if I try downloading it. Any suggestions please?
HI Dennis...
Try dragging the App Store icon straight up off the Dock so it goes, "poof" ...
Now go to your Applications folder. Drag the App Store icon to the Dock.
Restart your Mac.
Hopefully the update badge is gone. -
How do I get rid of an app stuck in waiting? I have signed in and out of ITunes store and booted my iPad. I synced my iAd with my computer. I can't use the app or delete it! Thanks!
If there are multiple apps trying to download at once, only one can download at a time and the rest say "Waiting" until it is then their turn. Try this. Double tap the icon of the Waiting app, and it should resume the download.

Another thing to try - Turn the iPad Off & then back ON.
If that doesn't work:
• Log out of your iTunes store account. Go to Settings > Store > Sign Out Then press the Home button.
• Then press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously and don't release them when it brings up the Turn Off screen; keep holding them until the Apple logo appears.
• After restart, the Waiting should be gone.

Mac platform. I have the Creative Suite. I need to reinstall the app. How can I get rid of the app and it's extensions to reinstall it?
Are you SURE you need to reinstall? Often people believe this but it rarely solves anything. Does a message say you must?

How do I get rid of an app that has an automatic weekly charge
How do I get rid of an app that that I don't want that I'm being charged for automatically each week?
There are instructions on this page for managing and stopping auto-renewing subscriptions : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4098
If you also want delete the app from your iPad (you will also need to stop the subscription, just deleting an app won't do that) : press and hold any of the apps and after a couple of seconds or so they should start to shake. Then press the 'x' in the left corner to delete the ones that you don't want, and when you've finished deleting press the home button so as to stop the shaking. If you don't get the 'x' on any of the apps that you've downloaded then check that Settings > General > Restrictions > Deleting Apps isn't set 'off' -

Tried to install eBay app two days ago. Still hasn't installed, is grayed out and says waiting... When I tried to uninstall it shakes, but no X appears. How do I get rid of this app? eBay app was from the App Store.
Try restarting your devise by holding down the power button and the home button. The uninstalled app should disappear after a little while.
Hope this helped -

How do I get rid of an app that won't quit? scanner problem
I ust tried to install a driver for my POS epson Perfection 1260. the app doesn't work with 10.4.8 and when i tried to delete their 'epson scan monitor' app I'm told it can be deleted because it's in use. I cant force quit because it doesn't show up as an option to quit. any ideas on how to get rid of the app that wont let it self be thrown away?
also any reccomendations on a sscanner that is designed and is fully functional with 10.4.8?
Thanks for the helpHi Brian, Scanner drivers and their add ons can be problematic. I used to have HP's driver installed which played havoc with sleeping - the computers', not mine
The epson scan monitor has probably been installed into /Library/StartupItems which is why it's telling you its in use.
Try deleting it from within Safe Boot or open Activity Monitor in Applications/Utilities and quit it from there before deleting it.
I can vouch for The Hatter's recommendation, VueScan. It's a wonderful little lightweight app that doesn't insinuate itself into StartupItems and mess sleeping up.
Good luck,
Adrian -

Open Applications > Utilities > Activity Monitor and quit any processes linked to MACDefender.
Delete MACDefender from the Applications folder.
Check System Preferences > Accounts > Login Items for suspicious entries.
Run a Spotlight search for "MACDefender" to check for any associated files that might still be lingering. -
