How do I get rid of congratulations you won in firefox!

Hi Guys
I have an popup in Firefox that keep coming up "CONGRATULATIONS YOU HAVE WON" now the popup is not a survey. It use-ably popup when switching between pages. The funny part is you cant close the popup. Normally I just switch back to my home page to get rid of it but pops up the moment you change to a page.
Some other information:
I'm using Windows 7 Ultimate
Browser Firefox version 30
Home page Google.com
Kaspersky Internet Security and antivirus version 14.0.0.4651(g)
Please advice accordingly.
Regards
Walkera

  • How do I get rid of "do you want to allow the following program to make changes to this computer"?

I recently installed Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional and every time I open a PDF file that is stored on my computer, I get a pop-up that asks "Do you want to allow the following program to make changes to this computer?".  How do I get rid of this?  I don't want to change my security settings, I just want to open pdf's without having to go through this step.
    I'm using Windows 7.

Thanks for that good idea.  I checked the "properties" by right clicking on the AA8 icon and under "compatability" I noticed it had Windows XP (Service Pack 3).  Since I'm running Windows 7, I changed it to that and now I don't get that annoying pop-up!

  • How do I get rid of 'Do you want to allow the following program..."?

I have recently installed Windows 7 on a new computer and have also installed Dreamweaver MX.
Whenever I open Dreamweaver, it comes up with an annoying message "Do you want to allow the following program to make changes to this computer?"
My question is this - how can I get Windows 7 to recognise Dreamweaver MX so that this message does NOT come up anymore?
Or do I have to upgrade my Dreamweaver to the latest version (probably quite expensive).

    Thank you
As Murray stated, it's been about 8 years.  Adobe only allows you to upgrade from the previous 3 versions.  Right now they are on CS5 (11) which means you can upgrade from Dreamweaver 8 which is 2 versions after yours.  So you would have to buy the full version again.  Buying the upgrade is no longer an option.

  • How can I get rid of the prompt to update firefox? I don't want to update

A box appears when I try to connect to the internet that says there's an update for Firefox. I did that previously and got stuck with Firefox 4 which took me forever to get rid of and downgrade back to 3.6 I do not want to upgrade but this box has appeared constantly for 4 days now. I keep saying 'no' but wonder, will it go away by itself eventually?

    1. Uninstall Firefox
    2. Download Firefox 3.6.20 from the first link provided by cor-el.
    3. Install Firefox 3.6.20.
    4. In Firefox, click the Tools menu > Options. In Options, select the Advanced tab. UNDER the Advanced tab, click the Update tab. Now under
"Automatically check for updates to" , un-check Firefox and under "When updates to Firefox are found", select the first option "Ask me what I want to do".
This way Firefox will not check for updates and you wouldn't be prompted every time to update.

  • How do I get rid of yahoo when I open firefox?

I recently had my computer fixed a had to reinstall firefox. Now yahoo comes up instead of Google.

    Hello,
Did you install Firefox from Mozilla? If you don't the installer is usually bundled with adware. Make sure you download from:
    * https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new/
    * https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/
Check your search bar settings, the bar to the right of your address bar. If the icon is a Yahoo icon, then click on it or click the down triangle to see the list of search engines. Click Google if you want to change it back to that.
You can also check your home page settings at:
    * Tools (or [[Image: New Fx Menu]]) > Options > General
You may also want to look at your Firefox shortcut:
    * Right click your Firefox shortcut and select Properties
    * Check the Target line under the Shortcut tab and make sure nothing is appended after "firefox.exe"
If you have a Yahoo toolbar, uninstall it:
    # Click the menu button [[Image:New Fx Menu]] and choose Add-ons.
    # In the Add-ons Manager tab, select the Extensions panel.
    # Select the toolbar you wish to remove.
    # Click the Remove button.
    # Click "Restart now" if it pops up. Your tabs will be saved and restored after the restart.
After Firefox restarts, install the [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/searchreset/ Search Reset Tool]. This extension will reset some of your settings, including your home page and search, and then uninstall itself.
For further information, please read [[Remove a toolbar that has taken over your Firefox search or home page]].
If you find that your preferences keep getting reverted back after you restart Firefox, please see the article [[How to fix preferences that won't save]].

  • How do I get rid of the Annoying Video from Firefox Flicks that pops up on my homepage?

    Hi,
You can update Firefox and check: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new/
If the problem persists you can then Reset Firefox and start afresh.
The Reset Firefox feature can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your essential information.
Note: ''This will cause you to lose any Extensions, Open websites, and some Preferences.''
To Reset Firefox do the following:
#Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Information.
    #Click the "Reset Firefox" button.
#Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is done, it will show a window with the information that is imported. Click Finish.
#Firefox will open with all factory defaults applied.
Further information can be found in the [[Reset Firefox – easily fix most problems]] article.

If you have security software (antivirus, firewall etc.) installed, after updating Firefox you may also have to delete all existing instances of Firefox and its related processes/files in all the different configuration modules/areas of the security software like process monitoring, sub/spawned process control, virtualization, HIPS etc., in addition to the security software's main configuration panel. Instead create new fully allowed/trusted rules for Firefox + its related processes in all the different modules/panels - a genuine/original Firefox installer as well as all the installed EXEs (Application) and DLLs (Application extension) are digitally signed by Mozilla Corporation (right-click > Properties > Digital Signatures). Even otherwise, some security software may also ask again when Firefox and/or its sub processes are started, and you may be able to allow/trust at that time. I've downloaded the 'new' version twice in the last week. This has no effect.

You need to reset your user agent string (identifies version of Firefox). Yours has been modified by several add-ons and is now stuck at showing Firefox 3.0.5
