How do I get rid of digihelp? I will totally leave Firefox if this cannot be resolved.

I am having a VERY ANNOYING intrusion of ads from "digihelp" ONLY when I work in Mozilla Firefox.
I have a brand new laptop, and have downloaded only 3-4 items that I had downloaded on several other computers in recent months. Never had the problem.
The problem is NOT with those downloads.
I can go to the net in either of two other browsers to my work-site, and the digihelp ads DO NOT appear.
I have searched my computer with anti-malware, spyware, NORTON and a couple other scans and cannot get rid of digihelp
I have uninstalled FIREFOX twice and re-installed from your secure site, as referenced by an earlier direction from your office.
And I have re-installed FIREFOX from CNET.
I go to my worksite in another browser, and DIGIHELP is not present.
I go to my worksite on FIREFOX, and DIGIHELP jumps up in front of me.
I have searched the FIREFOX site for any signs of DIGIHELP and cannnot find anything to delete.
If I cannot get rid of DIGIHELP in the FIREFOX system, I will simply delete your system and never go back.
Truly, I like FIREFOX and wish to keep on using it, but if I cannot get rid of these unwanted ads, I will never use your system again.
Please help me in this matter.
Best Wishes,
Ron Allerton

  • How do I get rid of annoying arcade game on new firefox start page?

Most recent update of Firefox plays an annoying arcade-type game on the start page. How can I get rid of it?

Heheh, it's Mozilla being cheerfully quirky on the Firefox page (you are talking about the Mozilla Firefox Start Page or "about:home", right?).
If so, Mozilla will be changing it with another image in the future; I don't know when, though. For now, you have a few options:
    * Set Google/Bing/etc. as your homepage so that you won't see the Start Page when Firefox launches.
    * Use the [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/stylish/?src=userprofile Stylish] extension to remove the image.
    '''Using the Stylish Addon''':
    # Click the Stylish icon > Write new Style > For this URL (as seen in the first image below)
    # Create a style as seen in the second image (you can name it whatever you'd like, but <br> <code>#brandLogo {<br> &nbsp; visibility: hidden;<br>}</code> <br>must be kept. This makes the arcade game invisible. If you'd like to remove it altogether, swap <code>visibility:hidden;</code> with <code>display:none;</code>.
Save your style. A few weeks later, you can check to see if the arcade game has been removed by Mozilla by disabling the Stylish style on the Start Page. I know it's not a straightforward fix, but it's the best I can do. :)
    I hope that helped you!

  • How do I get rid of BrowserDefender.exe, accidently imported with Firefox

I accidently acquired a malware program BrowserDefender.exe when I downloaded Firefox from the Internet onto my new laptop. All other software loaded by me has been from legal discs, used successfully on our Desktop. My anti-virus software is displaying annoying pop-up messages. I am unable to delete the folders because "one of the files is in use by another program". My ISP tech support people had the same problem.
the beast resides on my laptop in c:\Programdata\BrowserDefender\

  • How do I get rid of Google each time I open firefox?

How do I get rid of the Google that sits on the page. I think I have the right to deside when I wish to use google - no body else.

Thanks for the thought - but I probably do not understand. I expect to see "About:blank". If I set that up I get instead "About:home" and even then it seems google is still in the center of the page - and there is even a list of "abouts" to consider.
I must have a search engine of some sort - I would prefer one that is not doubling up as a statistics collector. I want to be able to get an empty page with the option to put in my search (or address) at the head and not see anything else. Every time I experiment with that need, eventually Google comes back. It used to be like that in the old days....

How do I get rid of myinfotopia? I am using Firefox

hello, this sounds like a problem possibly caused by adware on your pc.
please go to ''firefox > addons > extensions'' & remove any suspicious entries (toolbars, things that you have not installed intentionally, don't know what purpose they serve, etc).
<br>also go to the windows control panel / programs and remove all toolbars or potentially unwanted software from there.
<br>finally, run a full scan of your system with different security tools like the [http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free free version of malwarebytes] & [http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcleaner/ adwcleaner].

  • How can I get rid of a redirect browser hacker in firefox?

This is a problem that is occuring on my MacBook Pro. When a google search is performed results appear as normal but when I click on a link it starts to load the page but then is interrupted and redirects to another completely different website which is completely unrelated to what I clicked on. They don't seem to be spam websites, just completely random. Sometimes it just redirects to askjeeves.com. Sometimes it doesn't redirect and I have normal use for a few minutes, then it redirects. The problem first started with a re-direction to a pretend PC virus scanner that mimicked the my computer folder on a PC and pretended to scan it for viruses and sell me some virus software. I ignored it as it was obviously a scam and blocked this website using a firefox add-on. This one no longer appears but I'm still getting redirected. I have thought of blocking information-seeker.com but figure this would just be treating the symptom and not the cause.
The only thing that is the same each time is that when it first begins the redirection, in the address bar a very long address with information-seeker.com appears for a split second before it loads the website it's sent me to this time.
I have tried the following so far
    1. I have run MacScan and found nothing
    2. I have checked the DNS information and no trojan is present
    3. I've been into about:config in firefox and there is nothing to do with information-seeker.com in there
    4. I've cleared all cookies and cache in firefox
Has anybody else come across this problem on a mac? I've found lots of websites with similar problems on PCs or problems where the search engine is hijacked but nothing with the information-seeker website. This is driving me up the wall and I'd be grateful for any help!

I have this problem also and I've tried all the same things you have. None work. Only thing that works is disabling Java in Firefox preferences, which is a pain in the ass because most websites don't work properly when Java is disabled.
I don't know how to delete Java plugins or delete Java altogether and re-install. Is this possible? or wise?

  • How can I get rid of the mac partition and leave windows?

My 2009 MacPro is currently partition into MacOSX 10.7.5 and Windows 7.  I would like to delete the mac side completely and just leave windows on. I want to do this so I can regain the memory into the windows side and have this laptop be windows ONLY.  Please don't ask why, is simply what I want to do but if you must know... I'm buying the new Pro and I rather keep this old one with windows especially since I have invested $ into the window programs like access and I don't want to loose them but I also don't feel is worth spending more money on windows. The only reason I have windows is because unfortunately and I hate to admit it but apple is not always good for college or business when you need to run programs that are only friendly with windows. Anyways it comes down to not loosing what I invested so I rather keep all the memory in this old computer with windows and all the new memory I'm getting on my new pro with just apple.

Your best option is to backup, SAVE, all your Windows personal files and program install files that you may have on the drive along with the most current version of the Boot Camp Assistant driver package download to an external drive. Then use a Window 7 install DVD to completely erase, repartition, the drive and foramt it NTFS then install Windows all by itself. Yes you can do that.
Fooling with the current partitions may cause the system to become unbootable until you use a OS X or a Win 7 installer DVD.

  • How can I get rid of error 9705 on iMac with Firefox update, using Musicnotes site

I have been downloading successfully from musicnotes.com on this computer until the Firefox update. • My Firefox opening page has suddenly developed a ''Babylon'' bar from somewhere. How do i get rid of it and revert to plain firefox.

My opening firefox page has developed two lines called ''Babylon''with lots of buttons to go direct to facebook/you tube and twitter none of which I use. This appeared about three days ago and i would like to get back to the original plain ''firefox '' page

In the Windows Control Panel, select Programs and Features. If Babylon is included in the list of installed programs, click on it and you should then be asked if you want to uninstall it.
If it is not listed there, check the Firefox add-ons manager for the option to uninstall it, for details on doing that see [[uninstalling add-ons]].

  • My old Apple ID pops up on 2/7 devices. How do I get rid of it for good!?!? This has been occurring since we bought our iphone 5 and 5c.

After I bought my Iphone 5, 5s, &amp; 5c all at different times. I go to update apps and it will show my old Apple ID. We have gone into all the settings and have removed the if from everywhere I can think of. Any suggestions.

    - Apps are locked to the account that purchased them.
    - To update apps you have to sign into the account that purchased the apps. If you have apps that need updating purchased from more than one account you have to update them one at a time until the remaining apps were purchased from one account.
thus, it appears that you have apps the need updates that were purchased for at least two different accounts.

  • A window has begun to pop-up when I open Firefox. Purple box with about 20 topics in it. How do I get rid of it?

It's a purple box that has about 20 topics in it. How do I get rid of it?

As far as I know, this has never been a feature of Firefox's core. Do you have an addon such as New Tab JumpStart or New Tab King that gave you this feature in Firefox 4? It's possible that whatever addon gave you this feature before hasn't been updated to work with Firefox 5. If you don't want to wait for that addon to update, you could try either of the addons I mentioned above.
    Here's NTJS: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/new-tab-jumpstart/
    And NTK: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/new-tab-king/

  • Undeletable e-mail in Mail - the latest! How can I get rid of it?

Following my recent posts about an undeletable e-mail received as undeliverable mail (I never sent it in the first place so it's obviously coming from a virused address book) I now have 13 copies of an identical e-mail which won't go away. My Mac says they're junk, but they're in the inbox and when I move them manually, they leave the inbox but don't appear in the junk. Once I return to the inbox, there they are again - with one more copy. There is no visible body, just a header stating:
"Subject: A hacker can access a public web site linked to an internal distributed file system and gain access to company and customer files."
I recently went to a PC forum for help and when I copied and pasted the header onto their forum , a green link appeared under the words "web site" taking me to a site "zimki.com" with whom I have never dealt.
How can I get rid of these self-generating e-mails?
Incidentally this message is not on my server as web mail access was used to delete it, so it only appears on the Mac.

Yes I did repost, as the original problem - a huge e-mail downloading - proved not to be the case so this is a more accurate description of the problem in the hope that I can get a more accurate solution.
I used the edit/ cut solution (thank you!) which removed the e-mails from my inbox, but they're now back with a vengeance including about twenty copies of one entitled "fez" (a virus maybe?) - I now have two of every e-mail downloading; my Mac tells me this fez message is junk but now adds that "You need to take this account on-line to download this message" - except the download in progress wheel keeps going on, and on, and on....and the new messages in my inbox (I now have two or three variations on the original theme) won't go anywhere except by edit / cut.
    I'm tearing my hair out!!!
I've just erased all the messages by webmail, 52 messages, so it appears my Mac is also no longer automatically erasing the messages on the server after download even though the box for this is ticked.

iPhoto 9.6 cannot open iPhoto Libraries on CD/DVD. The iPhoto Library needs to be on a writable storage.  Copy the iPhoto library from the disk to a folder in your Pictures folder. And then run the iPhoto Library Upgrader on that copy, see this link:  iPhoto '11: About the Library Upgrader
