How do I get rid of extra space in the toolbar section?

There is a blank space between the Navigation Toolbar and the Tabs. It is the same height as the other Toolbars, and is very annoying. How do I get rid of this space?
I tried pasting in a screenshot to show what I mean, but this form won't accept it.

What you appear to have a a bookmarks toolbar without any bookmarks.
Make sure that you have the check mark present for the bookmarks toolbar
View > Toolbars
Use "Ctrl+B" to bring up the bookmarks in the sidebar.
You should have three major folders "Bookmarks Toolbar", "Bookmarks Menu" and "Unsorted Bookmarks".
If you have no bookmarks or folders in the "Bookmarks Toolbar" that would be one reason for it to be blank, another and the only other one I think is currently possible through Firefox itself is that you don't have the wording "Bookmarks Toolbar Items" in the row when in customize, look for an item marked "Bookmarks" -- there are two such items you don't want the white star on a black background and drop-down, you want the the one with blue symbol on the right hand side -- drag it to the bookmarks toolbar, be careful in dragging you might drop it in the wrong toolbar.
If that doesn't work use the "Restore Default Set" and then you have to re-customize your toolbars (but you placed a picture here that you could work toward).

How do i get rid of black space at the end of a video presentation?

After creating a project in iMovie and burning it onto a DVD, I realized that when the movie was finished, it did not return to the Menu right away and instead it played 20 or so seconds of blackness that I can't seem to get rid of. In the course of your editing you may inadvertently have left a tiny scrap of audio or video way out at the end of your time line, with a large gap between it and the last clip in your movie. Your movie will play out until it reaches that scrap, leaving a large black gap at the end of the movie. Sometimes these scraps are so tiny that they are difficult to see and can be overlooked in normal view. Expand your time line view to its fullest extent and check to see if you can find such a scrap, left over from editing, and then delete it. It's worth a look, though you may not find anything. That's all I can think of, unless for some reason you have a 20 second long black clip at the end of your movie that you forgot to delete. (Don't laugh--it happened to me once.)

okay, i'm having trouble with this method, i've tried so many ways to get rid of the single space before the "]" , if i do a "\b" anytime after the for statement is done, it just prints a small square.

I think you may have Voice Over (accidentally) turned on in the Seeing part of Universal Access Preferences. If so, you can turn it off there, or you can toggle it on/off with command-F5. (In this key combination the former is the "apple key" and the latter is the function key.)

How to get rid of extra spaces while TRANSFERing itab to PersentationServer

Gurus,
we have a program which downloads the internal table to server using the TRANSFER statement.
open dataset --- BINARY MODE
loop at ITAB.
transfer ITAB-line to g_file.
endloop.
close dataset.
This works fine.
The new requirement is we need to get rid of the spaces that are padded at the end.
ITAB data is RANDOM. The actual length of ITAB is 128 chars per line. Every 120 chars will have a eof char ( delimeter)
so the last line of ITAB may have 1 or 2 delimeters in it. if it is just 1 we can solve it using SEARCH and TRANSFER---length
if it gets 2 delimeters ?

Thank you for the reply.
I did use that. What I meant to say is when you have more than one EOL char in last line how do you find the last EOL and transfer upto that length.
I used DO---ENDDO and checked for each existance of the EOL char. I am not pleased with what I am doing.
Is there any better way to this ?

How to get rid of extra space at beginning of multiline field

I have a form with both one-line and multiline fields. The one-line fields are fine, and the multiline fields look fine in LCD. However, when I open the form in Acrobat Pro, each multiline field has a blank space already in it! I checked with a user, and the same thing happens when she opens the form in Reader.
I verified that this is a problem with multiline fields by changing a one-line field to multiline. As soon as I did, the extra space appeared in Pro & Reader.
Has anyone else had this problem, and if so, what did you do about it?

P. S. Since I had a number of multiline fields on my forms, I decided to venture into uncharted LCD territory and create a custom function which I could use as needed. What I thought would be a simple task ended up taking four hours. I'm posting what I discovered here in the hope that it may save someone else time :)
First of all, apparently you can't create reusable functions in FormCalc, but only in JavaScript. You have to store them in a Script Object in order to make them available to the fields in the form. (Create the script object by right-clicking on the form in Hierarchy View and choose Insert Script Object).
Converting the FormCalc function to JavaScript was an adventure. Long story short, this is what I ended up with:

I spent a while trying to get getField() to work, but apparently it doesn't work in the LCD xfa environment. You have to use resolveNode().
Accessing the function was not straightforward either and also required use of the resolveNode function. This is the JavaScript I finally got to work:
xfa.resolveNode("form1..custom_functions").space_bug_fix(this.name, this.rawValue);
(custom_functions is the name I gave the script object). And as a reminder, the language in every event where this function is called has to be set to JavaScript.

Just remember that you cannot totally get rid of "other" nor do you want to do so because it contains notes, Safari history and bookmarks, contacts, email messages, text messages, and that type of data. As sberman states, it should be nowhere near that large, but you can't and don't want to get rid of all of it.
There are a bunch of other things that you can try before doing a full restore, but again, as stated above, sometimes the only thing that will work is to restore as new.

How do i get rid of extra trash folders from various email accounts?

i've now updated to lion, and subsequently, apple mail v.5, and love the fact that (like iOS) i have easliy added my other email accounts (gmail, yahoo, hotmail, etc).
however, when i delete items from these accounts, they sometimes get deposited into separate trash folders located "on my mac" INSTEAD of my unified trash mailbox (even though separate email folders have been created there as well).
i don't want to keep these trashed emails on my various/individual servers...or on my mac. i just want them deleted with everything else when i empty my unified trash bin in mail.
for each of my email accounts, i have checked the "move deleted messages to the trash mailbox" and unchecked the "store deleted messages on the server" options in mail preferences. is there something else i might have neglected to check/uncheck?

Have you checked to make sure that there aren't any invisible floating elements outside of your artwork? Empty textboxes, points, etc.
If you're exporting via the Save for Web menu, you may want to try unchecking the "Clip to Artboard" option. This will save only your artwork, and clip away the extra space you might have in the artboard.
You could just always crop away the excess space in Photoshop if you need a quick fix.

How do I get rid of white space on one side of image in table cell?

I'm making a disjointed rollover and when ever I add images it creates too much white space to the right of the cell. How can I make the picture fit, so space is not wasted? See image sample with red arrows where I want to remove space. I've removed the width size from my table, hoping it would "spring to shape" around the images, but no go.
