  • How does one get rid of Chinese in Safari thank you very much anyone got an idea

Apple have done a great big mistake visibly. How can they have released a new iOS which does not take into each machines configuration.
Maybe it's only about money. Now the boys to the top and the job's family have made a great deal of money out of apple, no one really cares.
In the meantime, if someone does have a way of solving my problem of how to get rid of Chinese in Safari I would be very grateful.
Also the photo upload and other features within the photo system had been changed. It is now difficult to delete photos in bulk and the machine. Is there a solution to that issue?
What I don't understand is this indicates that someone is playing around with making iOS worse not better giving full steam ahead to someone like Samsung and others to pounce.

The Favorites view is create based on a list of bookmarks in a bookmarks folder called "Favorites".  You may remove the Chinese web sites from the Favorites view by removing them from the Favorites folders in Bookmarks.
    1. Launch Safari.
    2. Tap the "Bookmarks" icon to the right of the address view.
    3. Tap the "Bookmarks" tab (the one on the left).
    4. Tap the "Favorite" folder.  You should see the list of Chinese web sites.
    5. Tap the "Edit" button.
    6. Delete the unwanted bookmarks.
    7. Tap the "Done" button.
Note that if you want to add your own websites to the Favorites view, just add a bookmark to the Favorites folder while you're viewing the website.
Also note that changing the language setting won't change the sites in Favorites.  The list of sites is created on first upgrade to iOS 7.

  • HT4623 How do I get rid of flashtalking on safari?

I seem to have flashtalking interfering with my internet use on safari.  How do I get rid of it?

How is it interfering with web browsing?  What are the symptoms that you're experiencing?
To reduce the ability for advertisers to track you (if that's what's causing problems), you can try any or all of the following:
    1. In Settings > Safari, set "Do Not Track" to "ON".  (NOTE: This only works if the advertisers actually obey the setting.)
    2. In Settings > Safari, set "Block Cookies" to "From third parties and advertisers".  Setting to "Never" will allow advertisers to track you easily using cookies.  Setting to "Always" will make many websites stop working on the Internet (especially login accounts that use cookies).
    3. Enable Private Browsing mode in Safari.  Note that you'll want to disable and re-enable Private Browsing mode to start a new session every now and then (maybe once a day?) to prevent any possible tracking cookies from being stored for long periods of time.  Since many websites use cookies for authentication, toggling Private Browsing mode will also force you to be logged out of some websites.
    4. In Settings > Safari, tap "Clear Cookies and Data" to reset cookies, web databases and caches that have accumulated since you started using iOS devices (if you've always backed up and restored when switching to a new device).  Again, this may log you out of web sites using cookies (or even web databases) for authentication, but it should clear any tracking mechanisms used by advertisers and start you out fresh again.  (It's the equivalent of toggling Private Browsing Mode off-and-on, but for your default cookies, web database and cache storage.)
    Hope that helps.

  • How to permanently get rid of Bing in Safari

I would like to permanently get rid of Bing in Safari.    It keeps overriding Google.    I do not like Bing.

There is no need to download anything to solve this problem.
You may have installed the "Genieo" or "InstallMac" ad-injection malware. Follow the instructions on this Apple Support page to remove it.
Back up all data before making any changes.
Besides the files listed in the linked support article, you may also need to remove this file in the same way:
    ~/Library/LaunchAgents/com.genieo.completer.ltvbit.plist
If there are other items with a name that includes "Genieo" or "genieo" alongside any of those you find, remove them as well.
One of the steps in the article is to remove malicious Safari extensions. Do the equivalent in the Chrome and Firefox browsers, if you use either of those. If Safari crashes on launch, skip that step and come back to it after you've done everything else.
If you don't find any of the files or extensions listed, or if removing them doesn't stop the ad injection, then you may have one of the other kinds of adware covered by the support article. Follow the rest of the instructions in the article.
Make sure you don't repeat the mistake that led you to install the malware. Chances are you got it from an Internet cesspit such as "Softonic" or "CNET Download." Never visit either of those sites again. You might also have downloaded it from an ad in a page on some other site. The ad would probably have included a large green button labeled "Download" or "Download Now" in white letters. The button is designed to confuse people who intend to download something else on the same page. If you ever download a file that isn't obviously what you expected, delete it immediately.
In the Security & Privacy pane of System Preferences, select the General tab. The radio button marked Anywhere  should not be selected. If it is, click the lock icon to unlock the settings, then select one of the other buttons. After that, don't ignore a warning that you are about to run or install an application from an unknown developer.
Still in System Preferences, open the App Store or Software Update pane and check the box marked
Install system data files and security updates
    if it's not already checked.

  • How do I get rid of Favorites sidebar in FaceTime in iPad?

I selected favorites in the FaceTime app in my ipad and it comes up as a transparent sidebar that I can no remove. I can not get to the back camera selector and I can not see the entire screen. How do I get rit of the favorites sidebar?

Are the Recent and Contact tabs showing?
The sidebar disappears when you start a FaceTime call.
If the app is not working along these lines then try a Reset [Hold the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons down together for 10 seconds or so (until the Apple logo appears) and then release. The screen will go blank and then power ON again in the normal way.] It is app and data safe!

  • How do I get rid of Favorites on the left side of the screen in landscaoe in Safari?

I'm in version 8.1.3 on my iPad2.  Whenever I put the iPad in landscape mode, Favorites shows up on the left and takes up 1/5 of the screen.
is there any way to get rid of it, or at least shrink it?

Does tapping the bookmark icon, to the left of URL address field at the top of the screen, not remove the list of bookmarks from the side of the screen ?

Words in Safari on my MacBookPro are often made into links that are not really part of the content.  Hovering sometimes shows "Click to Continue > by CouponDropDown".

  • HT4650 how do you get rid of adware in safari that creates hyperlinks to product websites?

I use thepiratebay.se and utorrent and I'm afraid somehow I've let adware screw up my safari broswer. I have a website www.lucidocopper.com and I have noticed several words are now hyperlinked to 3rd party's product websites. Now I'm afraid it's affecting the uploading of pictures to my website. I have not downloaded anything and I'm not sure what to do. I'd deleted all unknowns from application folder and all wondershare files from my finder. Are there any anti adware or anti virus software for mac to install to protect me in the future and ferret out the issue?
    Cheers!

From the Safari menu bar, select
    Safari ▹ Preferences ▹ Extensions
If any extensions are installed, disable them and test.

  • I have an annoying adware in my safari browser. How can I get rid of it?

How can I get rid of adware in Safari?

Click here and follow the instructions, or if there’s a type of adware not covered by them on the computer, these ones. If you're willing to use a tool to remove it(you don't need to, but may find it easier), you can instead run Adware Medic; this link is a direct download.

  • How do I get rid of a folder in my favorites lineup?

I have a folder that I placed in my favorites by accident. Now I can't figure out how to move it or delete it. How do I get rid of it and put it where I want it?
    Thanks,

What I experience is 2 or 3 different grinding noises intermittently and slowness of internet with a lot of that little rainbow circle turning all the time. Does that make any sense?
That sounds like it may be a failing Hard Drive --  maybe grinding bearings. Much less likely, since you're getting beach balling and slowness, could be one of the fan motors is grinding. I'm thinking drive. It's NOT a virus or malware. Those sounds along with those symptoms, even on a PC/Windows, would indicate a failing drive is the likely culprit, not a virus.
Stop wasting your time with ClamX or any AV, looking for a virus. It's a likely a hardware problem.
Get the free demo of SMART Utility and let it check the drive.
    http://www.volitans-software.com/smart_utility.php
Also, open up Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities. Select the drive, the top listing, look down at the bottom and see what it says for SMART Status. It will say failed or verified. If it says verified, it does not mean the drive is not failing. If it says failed, it can be relied on.
    Also, have a listen:
    http://www.salvagedata.com/docs/failed-hard-drive-sounds/
You can also run the Hardware Test in extended. It will be on one of your Install discs. Boot to the test holding down the D key. Remove all peripherals except the keyboard and mouse.

  • How can I get rid of that irritating contact/favorites across the top of the home screen?

How can I get rid of that irritating contact/favorites across the top of the home screen?

Actually, that's not on the Home screen, it is on the multitasking or App Switcher view so only shows up when you enter that mode (so I'm not to clear as to why it is so "irritating", but whatever).
Settings app > Mail,Contacts,Calendars > scroll down to CONTACTS section] > Show in App Switcher

If you don't want recents in your App Switcher screen:
Settings => Mail, Contact, and Calendars => Scroll down to Contacts => Show in App Switcher => Turn off Recents and Favorites too if you don't want them in the App Switcher.
