How do I get rid of grey sidebar for bookmarks after software update

Just did software update, and now there is a grey toolbar on left that displays my bookmarks. Not functional to me. How do I get back original bookmark page. I realize that I can hide left toolbar, but it jus comes up again when I go to bookmarks. Then is will not go away unless I mannally hide it again. NOT GOOD

Got this fixed.
I deleted Yahoo as a search engine.
To do this: on the right hand side of a toolbar there is a pull down menu which contains "manage search engines". Select this and remove "Yahoo".
BTW: the "Tools" - "Options" - "remove hardware acceleration.. " did not work.

It depends on what you are taking a screen shot of. For example, if you are watching a video and the controls (and status bar) are visible, you can tap the screen to remove them and take you screen shot.

How do I get rid of Favorites sidebar in FaceTime in iPad?

I selected favorites in the FaceTime app in my ipad and it comes up as a transparent sidebar that I can no remove. I can not get to the back camera selector and I can not see the entire screen. How do I get rit of the favorites sidebar?

Are the Recent and Contact tabs showing?
The sidebar disappears when you start a FaceTime call.
If the app is not working along these lines then try a Reset [Hold the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons down together for 10 seconds or so (until the Apple logo appears) and then release. The screen will go blank and then power ON again in the normal way.] It is app and data safe!

I was running Snow Leopard on a machine with intel core 2 duo processors 4 Gb of RAM and over 100Gb of free memory.
I have attempted a safe boot (holding down shift while while holding the power button down), and Reseting the NVRAM by pressing 'command', 'option', 'P' and 'R' at the same time.
I do not have an installation disk or a time machine back up.

It used to be that to update the trial to the licensed version with the box, you just inserted the DVD & ran the installer to convert the trial to licensed. This changed with Snow Leopard. You need to delete the trial & then reinstall from the boxed DVD or the Mac App Store. The files to delete are the iWork ’09 folder from the main HD > Applications; the iWork ’09 folder in HD > Library > Application Support & the individual iWork application plist files found in HD > Users > (your account) > Library > Preferences for each user.
Yvan Koenig has written an AppleScript that removes the files. You can find it on his iDisk in For_iWork > iWork '09 > uninstall iWork '09.zip.

You should be transferring all apps purchased on the ipod to your computer regularly, especially before any update.
If you have failed to do this, then do so now. File>Devices>Transfer Purchases
You then sync them to the ipod from your computer.

How do I get rid of a sidebar that pop ups no matter what webpage I am searching?

I have a sidebar that pop up on the left hand side of my screen whenever I am on the internet. It does contains a X and will close with you press that, but reopens as soon as I click on something else. It is very annoying and gets in the way of looking at pages. I've accidentally clicked on it and it takes me to weird websites. It is not listed in my toolbars or sidebars as an option to turn off. My virus detector hasn't detected any viruses.
I have Firefox version 23 and Windows 7
I have a copy of the screenshot, but not sure how to post it in this question. Any suggestions will help.
