How do I get rid of "!" marks on top Bar?

There are eight "!" characters before the wi-fi mark on the top bar. The only information I get from them is that the demo expired, and that I should buy or register it.
Tell me how to get rid of them or I shall have to go back to Safari

The issue is that I want to have parental controls activated, so only certain sites can be viewed. However, deleting the safari preference file is a way around it. I don't want to have search engines on safari. Only selected web sites. What's the point of having parental controls on when the pref can be deleted and Yahoo is back with the ability to search for whatever the heart desires. The parental controls would be perfect if you could get around this problem.

Updated Firefox, now when I open a new tab, there is two seperate google search bars; how do I get rid of the unnecessary search bar?

I updated Firefox, and after I restarted it, when I opened a new tab, I found that I now had two Google search bars: one next to where you type web addresses, and one right above my pinned sites (or my frequently visited sites). I'm just trying to:
1. Figure out why it is necessary to have two of the pretty much identically useful search bars when I really only need one (or can physically type Google in)
and
2. How do I get rid of the unnecessary second Google search bar above my frequently visited and therefore pinned sites.
If you have any ideas of how to remove this annoying addition, I would appreciate it.

I am guessing that you installed an extension, related to "new tab", which added the first search bar. Firefox 31 in includes a search bar for the "new tab" page; so now you have two.
Take a look at that extension (Options or Preferences) to see how to disable ones of those 2 search bars. Or see if an update has been released for that extension, specifically for Firefox 31, with an option to disable the search bar.

How do I get rid of an unnecessary scroll bar? IE10

I'm using RH 9.0.2.271, Webhelp, Zoom Search
Among the many gifts IE10 has given me, I have acquired an extra scrollbar when displaying the documentation in IE10. This vertical scrollbar appears to the outside right of my content page.
When the content pane correctly requires a scrollbar, I now have 2, and inside one (correct) and an outside one (not correct).
The 2nd outside scrollbar becomes INACTIVE when I switch to compatibility view in IE10, but it is still there!
How can I get rid of this annoying scrollbar, active or inactive, for once and for all?
Things I've tried to do to elimate this extra outside scrollbar:
1. Turned off the skin thinking my buttons are now too large when displayed in IE10. Nothing would surprise me. No change.
2. Change the magnification of IE ; zoomed in/out. No change.
3. Asked a colleague to test. No change.
4. Played with the TOC pane size. No change.
5. For fun, eliminated the white space on the home page. The scrollbar appears even on the home page where there is minimal text.
6. Looked at the CSS - no idea what would be effective.
7. Tested in Firefox. No change, scrollbars are still there.
I also have a horizontal scrollbar in IE10, but I still have more testing to do before I post

My guess is there is some style in the CSS giving an issue.
When you open only the topic (with skin invisible), do you then also see this scroll bar?
Also try to add the following CSS to the BODY definition:
margin: 0;
padding: 0;
The x- definitions are RoboHelp control definitions. They are not CSS and RoboHelp uses them to give a Word-like experience in the interface. They are ignored by browsers.

How do I get rid of the stupid menu bar on my 2nd display?

I do not want my menu bar to display on my 2nd monitor. The fact that apple decided that it would be okay to reduce my usable space on my 2nd screen infuriates me. How do I revert this back to how it was previously? I don't want the menu bar (or the dock) on the 2nd screen, at all.
I didn't see any settings to get rid of it, so I assume there is a defaults write to get rid of it..
When I "drag the menu bar" to get rid of it, via the settings, nothing happens. It is still there, except now it is greyed (and still useless). And it still takes up the space and makes the 2nd screen less useful.
I want it to behave like it did previously: the 2nd monitor has no menu bar that blocks usage, and is used as a place where I drag extra windows.
Any help? This is /really/ annoying and I honestly regret upgrading.

If you do not want to utilize the new full screen funciton independently (i.e. a full screen app on monitor one & a separate full screen app on monitor 2) go to System Prefs ->Mission Control -> Uncheck the box 'Displays have separate Spaces'. This will remove the dock & menu bar from your 2nd monitor. Unfortunately, until there is an update, you have to choose between the two options.

I recently took my MacBook to the local store to have it cleared and restored back to factory settings. I have the OS X Mountain Lion program installed. I set up two accounts (Admin account and second one to use). When I turned my computer off and back on again, I've noticed a Guest account. In the area where it allows you to add or delete the delete symbol is greyed (shaded) out where I don't have that option to delete the "guest" account. And the ethernet symbol I'm seeing in the right hand corner of my screen is still there after deleting it in the System Preference/Network section.

How do I get rid of the infoatoms advertising bar that keeps popping up?

I keep having this advertising bar pop up. I have followed all instructions to get rid of it. I have uninstalled it and selected disable ads. I have even uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox 3 times. I reset Firefox to its default (see Firefox Help), and then in Control Panel of Windows uninstalled InfoAtom itself, as well as a couple of other questionable items that were installed without my knowledge at the same time. In Control Panel, it doesn't give you an option to uninstall, but you'll get to it by clicking on "Change." I tried disabling it through Firefox first, but that did not work. This way I know it's gone, gone, gone! And it really does seem to be gone.
In case InfoAtom is still watching this thread, my feedback is thus: My problem with InfoAtoms was that it was somehow installed without my knowledge, under the radar of my anti-virus, which should have asked me if I wanted to allow changes from that company. Then I started noticing all the ads, which I dislike. Then that there needs to be a message board on how to get rid of it. Fooling with this took some real time out of my morning.

If the add-on bar keeps coming back, you will have an add-on that is causing this. One that does this is the McAfee Site Advisor, disabling or uninstalling it stops that from happening.

How do I get rid of Yahoo on bookmarks bar perminently???

I want to use parental controls on Safari. They work great except if you delete the preference file for Safari, Yahoo comes back to the bookmarks bar. I don't want Yahoo on there for obvious reasons. Is there anyway to stop that from happening?

How do I get rid of the purple vertical bar that appears at the end when I use a default transition (cross dissolve) or dip to black?

This is Adobe Premieres of telling you that you are at the end of the sequence. If you hate it as much as we all do please send a feature request to get it removed. The bar will not be there on any exported file.

That problem has nothing to do with format settings. It is a burn-in, which is set in the view settings (timeline panel), and also you can deactivate in the render settings.

No way to turn them off, however, you can hide cover flow in the Bookmarks Manager by dragging the small rectangle box below the cover flow scroll bar upwards.
Top Sites icon can be removed from the Bookmarks Bar via Safari Preferences>Bookmarks.
In Safari Preferences>General, you can dictate what occurs when you open a window or page. Change from Top Sites to something else.
