How do I get rid of Mobile Me icon?

Just recently I've noticed a new icon on the menu bar, an exclamation point with two arrows circling around it. I've never seen it before and when I click it the drop down menu shows Mobile Me conflicts, sync and preference options. I went to the preferences to try to shut it off, but there is no option for that. I have never subscribed to Mobile Me and want to get rid of this icon. Any tips?? Thanks in advance.

Yaaaay!!! (:^D
Thanks. Now I feel stupid.

Have you tried restarting or resetting your iPad?
Restart: Press On/Off button until the Slide to Power Off slider appears, select Slide to Power Off and, after the iPad shuts down, then press the On/Off button until the Apple logo appears.
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10 seconds). Ignore the "Slide to power off".

  • How do I get rid of a Facebook icon and message?

When I power off my iMac or click “restart,” a fresh desktop screen appears.
After everything loads, I am left with a tiny Facebook icon in the top menu bar of your desktop screen, and a window suspended in the middle of your screen which invites me to sign up for Facebook.
At that moment, no applications are running, not even Safari.
How do I get rid of the Facebook icon in the main menu of my Desktop, and the nagging window that floats in the middle of the desktop?
    Thanks

YAY! I'm glad that made it go away. When anything weird is going on with my iPad or iPhone (or PC - not really needed with my Mac ), I find that a reset is my best friend!
Enjoy your new iPad! I love mine, and it's an oldie - iPad 1!

    thanks

Sorry but this is only iPhoto support. There is no "all over the computer" forum
To stop the messages in iPhoto open the iPhoto preferences and remove all references to MM. Do the same in the system preferences

  • How do I get rid of the iDisk icon from my desktop?

I just got a new MacBook Pro 17" with the latest version of Snow Leopard. My local hard drive icon was missing but thankfully I figured out how to get that back. However, I also have the blue iDisk icon on my desktop for which I have no use. How do I get rid of that icon? I trying ejecting it (Command-E) but to no avail.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated,
    Randy

The same thing happened to me, and I finally found the answer. I thought I'd post in case others had the same problem:
Snow Leopard has a new setting under System Preferences > MobileMe within the "iDisk" tab: there's a feature now called "iDisk Sync" that lets you create a virtual "DropBox" from your iDisk if this feature is turned on -- disabling it as a internet only drive.
If you turn this feature off, however, your iDisk will work as expected and allow you to mount / eject it.
    Hope this helps!

  • How do I get rid of IOS7 app icons?

The new IOS7 update icons look like toy apps. They look very unprofessional and hard to figure out. What happened to Apple being for educational and business applications and a reliable computer and software company? Like to know how to change back to old icons and get rid of this update. If I cannot I will be leaving Apple after 20 pluse years of using their products. Sad! They are definitely going down the wrong road.

Go for it.  At least then we won't be subjected to your ridiculous logic of buying a new phone simply because you don't like the icons.

  • How do I get rid of menu Phone icon?

I know this is a silly request, but I have this phone icon at the top of my screen (between my time machine icon and my speaker icon) , a headset with 2 dots and 2 lines coming off it, I think it was part of an older OS and related to the use of a modem. highlighting it now shows "no modem configurations found" (in gray) and "open Network preferences" in black which I can do but I cannot find where to get rid of that icon. I remember in earlier OS that it was how I got to dial-up menu of Network locations. I have a iMac intel duo (brand new) and doesn't have a modem in it.
    Any ideas?
    thanks

Press the COMMAND key down and simultaneously drag the icon out of the menu bar.

  • How do I get rid of site-specific icons in the location bar?

I am getting annoyed by the site-specific icons that appear next to the location bar. I thought there was a way to disable these icons but I cannot find it. Is there any way to get rid of these icons on my screen?

You can set these prefs to false on the about:config page.
    http://kb.mozillazine.org/browser.chrome.favicons
    http://kb.mozillazine.org/browser.chrome.site_icons
To open the ''about:config'' page, type '''about:config''' in the location (address) bar and press the Enter key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website.
If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access that page.

  • How do i get rid of these dumb icons on my menu bar. they are not useful and they take up too much room. why did you do this?

i just upgraded to the new version of firefox. for some inexplicable reason, you've added icons to the left of my personal menu choices in the menu bar. these icons are purely decorative, they take up too much room, and now i can't display as many clickable items in the menu bar. extremely irritating. if you are going to add junk, at least give us the option to not display it. is there a way that i can turn off the display of these useless icons?

thank you! that worked! appreciate how quickly and accurate the support was.
    that said,
it would be nice if the icons were the add-on,
and the default was no icons.
i'm sure the majority of your users would prefer function rather than fluff.
    thanks again, mj

  • How do I get rid of the 3D icon that is appearing on my screen?

There is another post about this but it isn't helpful.
There is an icon with a cube in it that is appearing in the upper left side of my screen. I can't find any way to turn it off. Every time I try to draw a square using the shape tool, it's in 3D. I don't want it to be in 3D, and I never turned this tool on in the first place. It's blocking my ability to get my work done. Can anyone help me figure it out?
    Much appreciate any guidance.
    Thanks!

Select the Perspective Grid Tool (Shift + P) and click on the X in the widget in the upper left. That will remove the Perspective Grid.

  • How can I get rid of the speaker icon?!

The speaker icon (labeled "sound effects") started popping up for no reason in the middle of the screen. It remains on the highest volume. When I lower the volume it climbs right back up to the highest. I have all the latest updates installed. I don't want to do a complete reset because I would have to reinstall everything. Is there another way to make that icon disappear?
There's another problem and maybe they are related. When the ipod runs on the battery only it gives a false reading. It shows the battery is almost completely depleted. However, as soon as I plug it in it shows 50% (it will charge completely if I leave it plugged in). Anyone want to take a crack at solving this?

% battery on an iPod is not accurate so what you seeing is not abnormal.
    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Try cleaning out/blowing out the headphone jack. Try inserting/removing the plug a dozen times or so. There is a little switch in the headphone jack that disconnects the speaker when the headphone jack is inserted.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.
