hello rscherr, you have a LOT of malicious extensions present in your profile and using an outdated and vulnerable version of firefox.

When I access AOL on Firefox a "plug in tool bar" appears on the right side of my screen obliterating my scroll bar. How do I get rid of this annoying plug in bar?

AOL says it's your browser that is causing this, not AOL and it makes AOL pretty useless to use on Firefox. Much easier to use Windows Explorer. Can you get rid of this "browse or add plug in" bar? How do I get around this? Using Firefox on a Windows Vista operating system.

Opening in the sidebar is the default for bookmarks that are created via a link or button on a website.

Does the name mp3rocket ring a bell?? It may be related to a browser add-on. You could check for and possibly disable or remove such an add-on here:

Try both the Plugins and Extensions categories.
If it doesn't seem related to an add-on, perhaps it's something added by a Wordpress plugin, or your blog theme. If you provide a link to your blog, a volunteer here could take a look and see whether they get the same text.

Can't get rid of Perian software update window in the center of my screen.

When I woke up my computer this morning, there was a Perian software update window right in the center of my screen. I cannot get rid of it and don't want to install it. No matter what I push...it won't budge. My choices are Skip this version, remind me later or install update...as I said I don't want to install it...how do I get rid of it ?

How do i get rid of this annoying blank space?

I'm using Pages '09 v4.03 on a Mac with OSX 10.9.1 on a MacBook Pro.
Many of the documents I use on a daily basis are created by others, and I don't know what they're doing to make this annoying blank space appear on my documents. The screenshot below shows the irritating area in the oval. My view is set to page width.
Wierd thing is...when I go to fullscreen mode, that gray bar is still there! It's something about the page width setting, perhaps?
How can I only view the document? Help!

I am facing this vexed problem for the past two days: whenever I quit Safari, this pop-up is turning up:
I am aware of the malicious effects of this application which, far from cleaning and protecting our precious Macs does the opposite!
Can I be informed of how I can close Safari smoothly without having to see this malware?

You can force quit an application using the task manager. Press COMMAND-OPTION-ESC keys together to open it. Select the Safari application then click on the Force Quit button. Relaunch Safari while holding down the SHIFT key.

Fix Some Browser Pop-ups That Take Over Safari.
Common pop-ups include a message saying the government has seized your computer and you must pay to have it released (often called "Moneypak"), or a phony message saying that your computer has been infected, and you need to call a tech support number (sometimes claiming to be Apple) to get it resolved. First, understand that these pop-ups are not caused by a virus and your computer has not been affected. This "hijack" is limited to your web browser. Also understand that these messages are scams, so do not pay any money, call the listed number, or provide any personal information. This article will outline the solution to dismiss the pop-up.
Quit Safari
Usually, these pop-ups will not go away by either clicking "OK" or "Cancel." Furthermore, several menus in the menu bar may become disabled and show in gray, including the option to quit Safari. You will likely have to force quit Safari. To do this, press Command + option + esc, select Safari, and press Force Quit.
Relaunch Safari
If you relaunch Safari, the page will reopen. To prevent this from happening, hold down the 'Shift' key while opening Safari. This will prevent windows from the last time Safari was running from reopening.
This will not work in all cases. The shift key must be held at the right time, and in some cases, even if done correctly, the window reappears. In these circumstances, after force quitting Safari, turn off Wi-Fi or disconnect Ethernet, depending on how you connect to the Internet. Then relaunch Safari normally. "I agree that the wording could be better. Odds are the code was written by someone that does not have english as a first language. The message *does* have to stay present until the browser is fixed, though. Otherwise people would dismiss it, then complain that some feature wasn't working. When someone said they were using an unsupported browser, they would further complain that there was no message telling them so. (As is, there are still people that scroll past the message without seeing it and still complain.)" --- Personally, I would just come back to that message later if I could close it out and honestly, I think leaving it there like a permanent fixture is really unncessary. It comes up right on top of your screen and pushes everything way down to the bottom so there is no way you can miss it. And it doesn't have to be done in such an annoying way that the message will be stuck to the top of your browser until you get the upgrade. That's ridiculous. If it just came up as a pop up message that comes on whenever you open your browser, that would still make the point just the same and wouldn't encourage me to dismiss it. Sure you have people out there with no common sense but a lot of us do. Some people are just going to complain no matter what and that's always a given.
No, issues more important to the customer. The error is worded poorly, but gets the point across. The list of supported browsers is easily accessible. The more important issues I was referring to are things like being unable to delete email or pay the Verizon bill that many people are experiencing. (Not me, personally, but then I don't get the unsupported browser message, either.) If there's coding work to be done, I vote they address the serious, service-impacting issues before they work on minor annoyances.----The error gets the point across? Not really in my opinion. Yes, you can click on supported browsers but going from saying that your browser itself is unsupported to saying that you just need an updated version of the browser is really taking the customer for a loop. I know that took me for a loop because I think that's saying two completely different things. And yes of course, email issues or paying a bill on line are important as well but I think this is just as important regardless because when there is an accumulation of messages that are communicated poorly in addition to the run around and wait time and being put on hold when calling customer service, that can really be the tipping point for a customer who has just about had it and is ready to switch to another provider. All of these providers should be taking these steps to better service the customer and to me personally, this is no different and what may be minor to a corporation is often a bigger deal to the customer dealing with it.
And how hard is it to revise the wording on an error message like that? Give me a break. For something simple that can encourage more customers to keep their service, isn't that worth it? Verizon has yet to prove to me that it cares about investing in better customer service and better communication.
I have never heard of any other provider which has its error messages worded like that taking the whole thing out of context. My services are working fine but believe me, if I had to start all over again, i.e. move to a new residence, I would not go back to Fios. There may even come a point later on where I will need to switch even while staying where I live now. Time will tell. I often don't have the luxury of wasting more time than what's necessary to resolve a problem, especially something simple. The communication and the customer service from Verizon have a lot to be desired and need a lot of hard work. If I had to grade it right now, I would give it a "D" for barely passing, just barely beneath being adequate. I think that's a fair assessment. For a provider that's getting so much of your money, it's disappointing. My time is valuable and I honestly feel that Verizon oftentimes doesn't give a darn about that. To me it's another example of having to waste more time going around in circles like the phone runaround being put on hold numerous times until you hopefully get the issue resolved.
And sure, my problem has been solved...once again after going for a loop and going for another runaround. It's not really acceptable customer service.
Excuse my cynicism but that's my opinion. For 140 bucks per month, it's not my problem that Verizon is hiring someone with poor English to write that error message. That's pathetic and who has time for that nonsense? I like the product but like I said, time will tell.

Make sure that Firefox gets installed properly. 
Open the DMG file and drag to Firefox program to the application folder on your hard drive. 
You shouldn't double-click the Firefox application to run it from the disk image, but drag it out of the DMG folder instead.

For text or 1-color items you can try the .gif format for sharper edges.
Try changing the color of your matte to what the colro of the background is. The image will lok bad, unless you put that on top of your background.
