How do I get rid of this settings notification?

After I updated to 7.0.3, I got a 1 notification on my Settings icon. I have been through every menu in settings, and I cannot find out what the notification is for. How do I get rid of it?

I am having the same problem and I have done everything you've done. I searched Apple's website for a link to get some customer service but it's like trying to find a needle in a haystack. Maybe an Apple genius can point me in the right direction. Timothy, you there?!

Your post doesn't mention whether you are getting any errors from your iPod or that it's a case where deleting in the usual ways doesn't work so I'm unsure what your issue is. In normal use, how you delete content from your iPod depends how you have it set to update:
If you are updating automatically then delete the files from the iTunes library and next time you connect they will automatically be deleted from your iPod. Highlight the file and press the delete key on your keyboard, or right click and choose either Clear or Delete, depending on which version of iTunes you are using.
If you are updating manually, connect your iPod and click on the icon when it shows in the iTunes 7 source list click on the chevron (the little triangle) to the left of the iPod icon This will display the various icons for the iPod itself, Music, Movies, TV Shows and Playlists. Click on Music and you'll see the traditional song view. Find the files on your iPod that you want to remove, highlight them and delete directly.
To select multiple items such as all the songs in an album, click on the first track in the list hold down the shift key and click on the last track to highlight the selection. Then press the delete key.
To summarise, you start by highlighting the song/video/selection in either the iTunes library or on the iPod song list as displayed in iTunes then press the delete key on your keyboard: Deleting songs or playlists from your iPod

  • I need to free up storage on my iPhone 4s to do an update.  I have turned off my photo stream, but when I go into Usage Settings, it says that photo stream is using 3.7gb of space.  How do I get rid of this?

i need to free up storage on my iPhone 4s to do an update.  I have turned off my photo stream, but when I go into Usage Settings, it says that photo stream is using 3.7gb of space.  How do I get rid of this?

iCloud is not designed to "store" photos (as in long term storage).  iCloud can be used to sync photos from one device to another (photo stream) and to store a backup of the camera roll.  But that's pretty much it.
Camera roll is the group of all photos taken by the device (but not other photos synced to the device from another source).  Your extra storage on icloud will do you no good.  The recommended way of storing photos on a device is to sync them to a computer.
    So, your questions..
    1) You don't/can't
    2) No, because of 1.
    3) On a computer, deleting large groups of photos is relatively painless.  not so on a device.
    4) You can't access photos on iCloud because they can't be store in icloud.  You can't view/access photos in a backup on icloud unless you restore a backup to a device.

  • How do I get rid of this?

    Specifically, this:
I tried looking through the Menu settings but I can't for the life of me find this there. I don't want to color-code my layers and create 3D extrusions, whatever that is. How do I get rid of this stuff that's useless to me and that inflates the menu by half? If someone could walk me through this, I'd be eternally grateful.

As pointed out there is a short for merge down.  You will continue to develop your Photoshop Workflow and use additional Photoshop features that exists..  You will come to realise Photoshop is just trying to help you with the different right click menu what is possible  and grays out possibilities things the are not currently possible because of the document current state. I think I have more faith in your ability to learn , understand, accept and adapt then you do. The gray matter between your ears is the most powerful tool you have when using Photoshop.
Though you classify items you have no intention currently of using as superfluous they are possibilities  other may use.  Adding the ability to customise what is display would just add additional needless path length to Photoshop code that few would want to use and if they did they may forget the possibility exists and they may want and addition feature some day when the reality is the feature exists.
In time I believe you will come to realize what you perceived as either superfluous or as problem is the way Photoshop behaves that its helpful and works its not a bug and done purposely.
Hopefully Adobe will fix some bugs the have introduced before coding bad ideas like customizable popup menus. I would like to see Adobe remove Bad items they have in the pop-up menus like Adjustment Panels fly-out menu that breaks Photoshop  they can cause automate  actions and scripts to work incorrectly and  don't always work as the as set manually.   If items are bugs then they should be removed from the menu.

You have the accessibility VoiceOver feature or another one turned on.
Triple click the home button and try going to Settings>General>Accessibility and turn VoiceOver and any other ones off. You may have to use three fingers to scroll the screen to get there. If problems see the following for how to turn off via iTunes:
iPhone: Configuring accessibility features (including VoiceOver and Zoom)

  • In Mail, one mailbox for Recovered Message (AOL) keeps showing 1 very large message that I cannot delete. How can I get rid of this recurring problem, please?

In Mail on iMac, successfully running OS X Lion, one mailbox on My Mac for "Recovered Messages (from AOL)" keeps showing 1 very large message (more than 20 Mb) that I just cannot seem to delete. Each time I go into my In Box, the "loading" symbol spins and the message appears in the "Recovered Messages" mailbox. How can I get rid of this recurrent file, please?
At the same time, I'm not receviving any new mails in my In Box, although, if I look at the same account on my MacBook Pro, I can indeed see the incoming mails (but on that machine I do not have the "recovery" problem).
The help of a clear-thinking Apple fan would be greatly appreciated.
    Many thanks.

    I worked it out.
Unhide your hidden files ( I used a widget from http://www.apple.com/downloads/dashboard/developer/hiddenfiles.html)
    Go to your HD.
    Go to Users.
    Go to your House (home)
there should be a hidden Library folder there (it will be transparent)
Go to Mail in this folder
The next folder ( for me ) is V2
Click on that and the next one will be a whole list of your mail servers, and one folder called Mailboxes
Click on that and there should be a folder called recovered messages (server) . mbox
Click on that there a random numbered/lettered folder -> data
In that data folder is a list of random numbered folders (i.e a folder called 2, one called 9 etc) and in EACH of these, another numbered folder, and then a folder called messages.
In the messages folder delete all of the ebmx (I think that's what they were from memory, sorry I forgot as I already deleted my trash after my golden moment).
This was GOLDEN for me. Reason being, when I went to delete my "recovered file" in mail, it would give me an error message " cannot delete 2500 files". I knew it was only 1 file so this was weird. Why 2500 files? Because if you click on the ebmx files like I did, hey presto, it turned out that they were ALL THE SAME MESSAGE = 2500 times. In each of those folders in the random numbers, in their related message folder.
Now remember - DONT delete the folder, make sure you have gone to the message folder, found all those pesky ebmx files and deleted THOSE, not the folder.
It worked for me. No restarting or anything. And recovered file. GONE.
Started receiving and syncing mail again. Woohoo.
    Best wishes.

the cursor includes a text box from a previous image or link when the cursor is positioned on the side of the page. it will mainly happen when i hit "back" from the page i was on. i click and it goes away but only to return again on the next launched page. i also keep several tabs open and it will carry over to any one of them i go to. how do i get rid of this?
    == This happened ==
    Every time Firefox opened
== when i upgraded to most recent version 3.6.8

A number of extensions can cause that problem, you'll need to do a little troubleshooting to find out which extension is causing that to happen for you.
