How do I get rid on unwanted outlines on GIFs with transparency?

Ignore the crude cutout. This is for demonstrating purposes only. The following is a screen shot of a GIF. The black background is a seperate layer put behind the cutout just to make absolutely positive that there is no white outline around the image.

I then deactivate the black background layer, leaving only the cutout that certainly appears to have NO outline and save it for web, maintaining the transparency. No matter what I try, when I end up putting a gif of this nature on a BBS, against a dark background, it ends up with a white outline as in the following screen shot example.

Why is this happening and how can I avoid it?

I'm not exactly sure what you mean by "did you delete the background area?"
Here's how I went about it. I made a feathered selection from the jpg like this....

Then, with only that feathered selection layer active, I saved for web like this....

And then, actually, as you can see, as soon as the save for web screen comes up, you can already see the white edge around the image. So then obviously, when I go ahead and save that as a GIF, then that outline will show up anywhere I put it, unless of course it would happen to be a white background.

So, since I see that you have done exactly what I'd like to accomplish, please let me know what I've done wrong and or give me a step by step as to the correct way to go about this. Thanks a lot for helping me out.

Those elements are editable at whatever level they appear. As an example, go to the first page in a section, then click on/inside the title...select and edit accordingly.

How do I get rid of unwanted photo libraries?

I can get rid of photos if they are in my cameral roll, but I cannot get rid of them if they are in photo libraries. For some reason my iTunes downloaded pictures from my macbook onto my ipod which I never asked it to do. I want to get rid of these because they are old and no longer needed. Review your syncing settings in iTunes for Photos. You probably checked for syncing some smart albums, such as Newest Photos, Last Three Events, etc.

What kind of duplicates? Did you import the same image file several times? Aperture does not have any built-in tools to detect duplicates. You will have to do delete the one by one. You could arrange the images by date, so that duplicates are shown side by side in the Browser. Or use a tool like Duplicate Annihilator (the program is not free). I have never tested it but some do recommend it.

You only need to post once. You have to have some patience. I posted this response in your other question as well.
Don't open those emails, swipe across them in the preview window to bring up the red delete button and use that.
If the mail app is frozen and you can't do anything in it, close it from the recents tray and reboot the iPad.
From your home screen, double tap the home button and the recents tray will appear with all of your recent apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the mail app icon. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

It's just incredibly annoying when someone - or something - else lodges itself in your "home" and attaches with electronic superglue...especially when you're just moderately tech-savvy. How do I get rid of unwanted items listed on my Finder's places list? my finder

On the left side of my Finder window I have a blue background column with a list of items under "DEVICES", "PLACES" AND "SEARCH FOR". Somehow I got two items stuck in my list under "PLACES". One is a scan.jpeg. The other is an iTunes file. I have no idea how I did this. It doesn't seem to affect anything but it is annoying to me to have it there. Is there any way to delete them from this list? I have tried to do this every way I can think of and nothing works. As I wrote this, I thought I would try one last time. Finally was able to get a right click drop down for the iTunes file which gave me the option of removing it from the list. The other is still there. It will not highlight. I can drag it away from the list, but it won't land anywhere except a different place in the "PLACES" list. Any ideas?

You should take a look at the Knowledge Base article [[How to set the home page]].
There are steps in that article to reset your homepage preferences to default. I would try that first to clear out any strangeness. Then you can set your homepage to anything you like.

Hey guys. I'm stumped. I have an iphone 5 that I recently set back to factory settings so it's cleared out of music. And I don't sync my phone with my itunes library on my macbook as I don't want music on my phone.
BUT I noticed there's 246 songs on my alarm sounds area, where you can pick what alarm sound you want. And they all have the icloud with arrow symbol to the right of them? I don't use icloud for music. I only use icloud for contacts and find my iphone.
How do I delete these 246 alarm songs from my phone?!? I accidentally touched the icloud with arrow symbol on one of the songs and it housed it permanently in my phone's songs app. Help!!!
