How do I get saved and combined files to display in linear format?

Have been savingng receipts in adobe Acrobat Pro.They would Show up in split form and I could search them. Now when I create a binder of saved receipts they do not format as before. Don't know how to describe what I am talking about so included a picture.
Sure would like to get this working again. Very helful tool.

Thank You! Rave. I did not know this was being created from the outlook device. What my problem is that I converted 2000 files to Adobe PDF and that was when I realized they were not in the Outlook format. I tried putting them back in the e-mail files in a folder and now they are not recognized as e-mails. Any suggestions on how to get them organized?

But I'm losing my eyeballs because iWeb uses the same webpage to open my downloadable file.
The option to check, 'open in new web page' is not appearing.

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. You need to first upload the file to your server and use the URL to the file at that location as the link to external page option of the Inspector/Link/Hyperlink pane. If the browser supports displaying the file type it will open in a new window.

On your iMac launch iTunes and at the top next to the Apple symbol click iTunes > Preferences > Devices and tell me what you see. You last sync should be there showing only a device name. If you have an older backup it will be there as well the difference is it will be the device name with a date and time stamp. Sync and backups are two different things and there is a chance iTunes made a backup the first time you hooked up your iPhone 5.

Thank you for the question. It sounds like you have two separate iTunes Libraries but would like to add the music from one to the other to have one consolidated library.
If you know where the files are for each library, I recommend opening one iTunes Library in iTunes and importing the files from the other library using the following steps:
Open iTunes
From the File menu, choose one of the following choices:
MacAdd to Library
Windows
Add File to Library
Add Folder to Library
Navigate to and select the file or folder that you want to add
Adding music and other content to iTunes

Next, you can search for duplicates:
Choose View > Show Duplicate Items to show duplicate items (matches are based on the song name and artist). If you have multiple versions of the same song (for example, live and studio versions, or versions from different albums) you can hold the Alt or Option key (for Mac OS X) or the Shift key (for Windows) and choose View > Show Exact Duplicate Items. This will show only duplicate songs having the same name, artist, and album.

AIM 5.9 or earlier can not be installed on Vista.
AIM 6.5 and 6.8 use a new video codec with a description of "Real Time IM"

How do I get an embedded quicktime file to appear "activated" w/playback & volume upon opening PDF?

I am new to adobe acrobat, and I'm using version 8. I am trying to insert quicktime videos in a PDF File. I have figured out how to insert the video files and embed them in the PDF.
However, when I save the PDF, close it, and then re-open the it, the quicktime file does not appear. If I don't use a poster image, then it is just blank where the file is, but the file is there, and when I click on the empty space where I know that it has been embedded a dialog box opens about playing it just this once, or making it a trusted file, etc. Then it plays, and the volume and playblack controls, along with the background, are visible. (it is actually just an audio track in a quicktime file, so nothing is playing but the audio, and the background is solid black. I have set it up so that it stays there once activated.
What I want is for the volume and playblack controls and the black background to appear as soon as you open the PDF file, without having to click in the blank area where the file has been inserted. This is going to be part of a portfolio that I am submitting for a school program, so I need the person that is opening it to be able to clearly see where the file is, and see the playblack and volume controls so that he can playback the file.
So how do i get the embedded quicktime file to automatically show up in "activated" mode, with the playback and volume controls visible and ready to be used?

If the video is only linked it would reduce the file size of the pdf and it would make it accessible for people opening on a device (like iPad) which does not allow flash which must be installed with Acrobat to view embedded media.
But I would recommend to send the people only a link to the PDF. I hate it, when my iPhone filled with useless stuff, if I would like to see it I could donwload, but as attachment make my space overfilled.

Some anti-virus programs (e.g., McAfee) have this rule that can be invoked under the "maximum protection" settings: PREVENT PROGRAMS REGISTERING AS A SERVICE. If that rule is set to BLOCK, then any attempt to install or upgrade iTunes will fail with an "iPod service failed to start" message.
If you are getting this problem with iTunes, check to see if your anti-virus has this setting and unset it, at least for as long as the iTunes install requires. Exactly how to find the rule and turn it on and off will vary, depending upon your anti-malware software. However, if your anti-virus or anti-malware software produces a log of its activities, examining the log may help you find the problem.
For example, here's the log entry for McAfee:

Note that the log says "Common Maximum Protection: Prevent programs registering as a service". The "Common Maximum Protection" is the location of the rule, "Prevent programs registering as a service" is the rule. I used that information to track down the location in the McAfee VirusScan Console where I could turn the rule off.
After I made the change, iTunes installed without complaint.

How do I get new SpamAssassin cf files?

When spamtrainer runs, I get the following message:
config: configuration file "//usr/share/spamassassin/20bodytests.cf" requires version 3.000001 of SpamAssassin, but this is code version 3.001005. Maybe you need to use the -C switch, or remove the old config files? Skipping this file at /Library/Perl/5.8.6/Mail/SpamAssassin/Conf/Parser.pm line 344.
How do I get the new cf files? I never updated SA manually, so all mail service related files should have been updated by SoftwareUpdate. Is it just that the newer version of SA doesn't look in the /usr/share/spamassassin directory anymore?

I went through my upgrade notes and found an entry back in 2004. I apparently ran the CPAN command for Mail::SpamAssassin on this server by mistake and SpamAssassin was overwritten with v.3.1.5. *spamassassin -V* confirmed it. I wonder why spamtrainer decided to tell me now all of a sudden.
Anyway, I thought this would be a good time as any to update SpamAssassin... and because of the Perl modules, Amavis. Your notes on Topicdesk was a big help.
One thing I don't like about the newest Amavis is that the start/stop/reload command is a hassle to type during the install and debug process (I made shortcut executables in ~/bin). I guess now that it's installed and working, I would never have to type those commands again.

How to save my emails and adressbook files from an old ibook (bought around 2002) ?
The screen from the old ibook doesn´t work anymore (logicboard problem I guess).
I saved everything else with starting it in target modus. That worked fine.
I want to delete the files after that as well, because I wanna give away the old ibook and don´t want anyone to read my emails!
Little helpers I have:
A running MacBook
External Screen (and cables to connect)
Fire Wire Cable

Don't know how helpful this will be but I often copy mail from one computer to another, I drag the mail from the mail window to the other computers drop box, then from the other computer double click it and mail asks me what I want to do with it, of course without a screen you'd need to use back to my mac.
If you don't have back to my mac running, you could set up a second user account on the newer mac, import everything via target mode as suggested by c above, and then drag the mail to the first user account drop box.

How do I get saved and combined files to display in linear format?
