How do I get Siri to give directions using Waze?

I use GPS while driving and would like to use voice control. I have tried using Apple Maps but have found it to be missing features and I have to go through a long process every time I want to go to the same destination. Waze, I start it and it asks if I want to go home or to work depending on where I am. However, to do this I have to look at the screen and press buttons. Is there a way to start and use Waze using Siri. Thanks

Tell Siri to open Waze. She will reply that there is no app named "ways". You have to scroll up to where your dictation is and manually edit "ways" to "waze". Siri uses this to learn your accent, etc. Once you get Siri to open Waze via voice you have to access your Waze voice commands via either the 3 finger or hand hover method. Then you tell your device to "drive to home, work, etc"
---After trying a couple methods after posting this I figured out that if you simply tell Siri to "LAUNCH GAS" the Waze app opens right up---

  • How do I get Siri to give weather for New York, NY

New iPhone. Asked Siri for weather. Got weather for New York, TX. Asked for weather in New York, got the same thing. Asked for weather in Brooklyn. Where I actually am. Got weather for Brooklyn, OH. Why did Apple drop Google's excellent maps and choose Yahoo's terrible weather? Or is this just Siri feeding the wrong map info to Yahoo? In any case, how do I fix it?

I've seen this issue on other community threads, and know it has been reported to Apple.  I believe it's their problem.  Presumably when you run the weather app, you see the weather for your correct city.
I've seen another instance of this same issue - Carrolton TX reports weather for Carrolton, IN.
The New York issue is one I've seen many times.

  • How do I get Siri to give me a weather report in Celsius not Farenheight

I want the weather reports in celsius as we have in Australia

Ipad has no weather app.  I changed it in the "clock" settings, but that didn't affect Siri.
Changed Siri's language to English (Australia), English (UK), and Chinese (Mandarin), all still in F.
Change international region format to Australia and that changed it to C.
Apple's got to make a better way to do that.  Then again, why doesn't the ipad have a weather app?

  • How can I get Apple to give me an activation key for QT Pro that works?

Stopping at the Genius Bar last night, they suggested I upgrade my QT Viewer to Pro so I could move some of my digital video over to my iPone. I followed the purchase/download instructions and after putting in the activation code, I was NOT redirected to the page to activate the Pro version. I did the usual of retyping ny name, the key and even installed QT Viewer again, all to no avail.
I caled Apple support this morning and was told to call QT support and have them make my key recognizable. The only problem is the number she gave me for QT support says there is no QT phone support, only web information on frequently asked questions and this forum. I sort of feel like I am going in a circle.
So if anyone has the magical answer on how I can get Apple to give me an activation key that actually works without being able to speak or email a human support person, I would very much appreciate it.
    Thank you.
MacBook Pro   Mac OS X (10.4.10)

    Kirk,
Thanks again for your suggestions. No, I don't get an
error message. In fact nothing happens. My name and
key are typed in and from what I understand, once you
do that with a real key it directs you to the
registration page. When I get done entering the
information the window just sits there without any
    button or option to continue.
QT Pro is already in the QT (non-pro) you installed and the key (which is a hash of your name in part) allows the Pro features to work.
No redirect, internet, nothing like that. As such many people have activated and think they haven't. Just look at the menu items and see if the "Pro" logo is shown next to a few (which are greyed out and not available without Pro). If not you are done.

  • Whenever I ask Siri a question it just links me to a website instead of just saying the answer.  The reason I ask Siri is because i am not in a position to look at my phone.  How can I get Siri to just answer my questions??

Whenever I ask Siri a question it just links me to a website instead of just saying the answer.  The reason I ask Siri is because i am not in a position to look at my phone.  How can I get Siri to just answer my questions??

I found that the only time Siri will read anything to you is if it finds a Wikipedia article. Siri will let you know it found that, and ask if you want it to be read out loud. Other than that you will hear the "I found this, take a look".
The only other thing you can do is activate "Speak Screen". It will involve you taking a look at your phone for a moment, selecting what you'd like to look at, but Siri will read the content to you. It's in Settings > General > Accessibility.  Once activated, all you have to do is slide two fingers from the top of the screen and you will have it read to you. I use it all the time because of my astigmatism. It's pretty useful.

  • How can I get Siri to not see some iCal calendars?

When I ask to see my calendar, Siri shows calendars that I want to supress. I have some iCal calendars with misc info (warranties, medicines, etc.) that I turn off in iCal, off on the phone calendar. But Siri shows me (for ex: "19 meetings"" when I ask to see my calendar. How can I get Siri to avoid those calendars I have turned off elsewhere? Thanks!

If it is your own conference bridge you can create a new contact named "My Bridge" and enter your 1800 number along with a "wait" command and pass code and #.  It would look something like this 1-800-555-5555;12345678#.  This way when you tell Siri to call "My Bridge" she'll dial and then you'll notice an option in the lower left to dial the pass code.  Press that and you're all set. You can do the same for frequent conference bridges you connect to.  Hope this helps.

  • How can I get Siri to insert a pause (,) when voice-dialing a number?

I join a lot of conference calls with my iPhone.  The conference bridges have phone numbers that follow this pattern:
    (123) 456-7890,1234567#
How can I get Siri to insert the pause (,) character, and the pound (hash) sign, into the phone number when voice-dialing?
When I say "pause" Siri inserts the word "pause" as a literal string:
         Example: (123) 456-7890 pause 1234567
When I say "comma" Siri will insert a comma (,) into the dial string, but the Phone app ignores everything after the comma and does not dial it:
         Example: (123) 456-7890, 1234567   results in only this being dialed:  (123) 456-7890
When I say "pound" or "hash" Siri inserts the words "pound" or "hash" as literal strings:
         Example: (123) 456-7890, 1234567 pound     instead of (123) 456-7890,1234567#

If it is your own conference bridge you can create a new contact named "My Bridge" and enter your 1800 number along with a "wait" command and pass code and #.  It would look something like this 1-800-555-5555;12345678#.  This way when you tell Siri to call "My Bridge" she'll dial and then you'll notice an option in the lower left to dial the pass code.  Press that and you're all set. How do I get Siri to work on new iPad. Downloaded 6 but is not there.

Bama, you're going to have to do a little of this work for yourself.
Here's how to set up Siri on an iPad 3:

    Read it carefully, OK?

How can I get Siri on my iPad 2 and what happen to my YouTube app?

The YouTube app is not included in iOS 6. You will either need to try one of the YouTube apps from the store (there is an iPhone optimised app from google, and other people have said that they are working on an iPad version), or try accessing the mobile version via Safari : http://m.youtube.com (you can create a home screen shortcut for the site)
Siri is only on the iPad 3, it's not on the iPad 2
