How do I get the back button in Safari to work again?

The back button stopped working. I can only refresh the page. To go back I need to go up to History, and click back. I loved it when the back button worked. Any suggestions? I have a MACBook and Leopard

For any of you who have had this problem... here is the real solution. On the upper task bar, Go to VIEW, open up CUSTOMIZE TOOL BAR, find the FORWARD AND BACK ARROWS and DRAG THEM UP TO WHERE THEY BELONG. How did they disappear?..... some accidental combination of keystrokes deleted them, I don't remember what that was. End of story and I am sticking to it

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

How do I get the Back Button drop down menu back?

When surfing in a tab there used to be a drop down menu next to the forward and back buttons. It was a little tiny triangle looking arrow. This was really useful and needed. It is gone in Firefox 4 as far as I can see. I am using the default 4.0 Theme. If it is not there anymore I will have to go going back to 3.16 if the drop down menu is gone. Thanks for any help.

I do prefer Right-click on tab for tab history, or hold a couple of seconds, as the drop-down marker takes up space and had been removing it myself. Although I think it should have been an option.

After my update to version 4, the back button now only seems to store the last page I was on rather than the last 10 like it used to before the update. I've scoured the options menu to no avail. How can I get the back button working like it used to?

The back button used to work many times before it would reach the end of its list of pages I had been to recently and became greyed out, but now it will only work once before this happens. Also, the list of pages that pops up when I right click it now only has two entries no matter how many pages I've visited on that tab, the page I am currently on and the page I most recently left. The Brother Control Center for Brother's MultiFunction Printer/Scanners disappeared after upgrading to Snow Leopard. The previous files were erased in HD\Library\Printers\Brother\Utilities\ and the Control Center is gone. The Brother USA website http://www.brother-usa.com only lists software updates for 10.5. 10.6 is not listed as an option

Thank you for this link. It helped me find the solution.
1. Take the Brother Install DVD and reinstall the printer software.
2. Ignore that there is newer software on your computer.
3. Restart the computer
4. Go into the HD\Library\Printers\Brother\Utilities\Control Center directory and restart the ControlCenter
5. Run Software Update and install the SL printer update
6. Reconfigure the ControlCenter software buttons via the customize buttons as needed

When I hit Firefox icon on desktop, the Firefox page come up with "untitled" blank page comes up. I have no access to the toolbar with back <, forward >, reload and stop x buttons.

* Make sure that the "Navigation Toolbar" and the "Bookmarks Toolbar" are visible: "View > Toolbars"
* If items are missing then open the Customize window via "View > Toolbars > Customize" or via "Firefox > Options > Toolbar Layout"
* If a missing item is in the toolbar palette then drag it back from the Customize window on the toolbar
* If you do not see that item then click the "Restore Default Set" button to restore the default toolbar set up

I have a drill down report for the main report. And have detailed drill down as in 1st report>2nd report>3rd report.
But once i goto drill down, the return button is there which directs to main report i.e. 2>1,
But once i goto 3rd, i do not get the back button so that i can access reports in 3>2>1, instead its going directly to 1st from 3rd.
hope i have made the point clear.
Someone suggest me how do i get the back button??

I see "READ LATER" but not the "READER" function.

In the previous version of Safari, there was a "READER Button" on the right side of the tool bar. This brings up the selected web page in a READER mode all by itself, without the ads, etc.
Are you saying that I can get this function by clicking on the Left side of the Address bar?
When I do that, I get lots of icons, but NOT the READER button.

Do you have scroll bars enabled in the System Preferences > General tab (MacOS X 10.7 or later)?
Try, if setting this to "Show scroll bars > Always" will bring your scrollbar back.

If your intention is to use the trial again it will not reset if you reinstall. It will remain in its ran out state.
