How do I get the current song's time elapsed back at the top of itunes?

Right now, all I can see is the useless grey apple logo at the top of the itunes window. I can't figure out for the life of me why apple would get rid of this useful information to put... nothing. Except its logo. (Maybe I have my answer there.)
Does anybody know how to get this back? I don't want a separate miniplayer window. I want the equalizer/song progress section back where it was, front and center, like it should be, given its importance and utility. The only other thing I can see in that window is 3 dots and 3 lines to the right, giving me a song list without any discernable, logical pattern to it.
I am debating uninstalling and reinstalling an older version of itunes, I only upgraded to get an iphone to work and I am quite sorry I did. Any other, less drastic advice on how to restore functionality would be so welcome.

Greetings from the U.S. Correct, I was not seeing that. In fact even the search field was gone. If you cut off the entire control bar in other words. The reason I can't provide a screenshot is because now that control bar is back! I restarted iTunes multiple times, even the Mac and nothing brought the controls in, including the mini player.
What seems to have set it right is I went to the Window menu and chose Zoom. Then it was there. Now I can resize it again and the controls are where they should be. I previously went to Store> Turn off iTunes match but I don't think this was part of the solution, just the zoom command.

The Get Info. fields show up gray if the files is locked and iTunes knows it can't edit the file. Make sure the files are not marked as read only and, if necessary grant both your account and system full access to all files and subfolders of your media folder.
You can set Part of a Compilation for multiple tracks from the Options tab of Get Info.

The issue is that your credit or debit card credentials must be associated with the same country where you reside in order to purchase iTunes content.

The only supported method to get media onto an iDevice is via iTunes. Read the User's Guide it will describe how to do this in detail.
iCloud does not put media on the device, but using iTunes Match and iCloud it is possible to have access to all media that exists on your computer, but only when the device has Internet access. It will not load media onto the device.
Use of 3rd party tools to transfer files to the device is not supported.

When I tried to use itunes, it couldnt read the library because it had been created by the newer version (why it didn't get deleted when I removed itunes I do not know), so I deleted a few itune library files that I found still on my computer. This is what you should have done...
To roll back to iTunes 10.7 first download a copy of the installer from here, uninstall iTunes and suppporting software, i.e. Apple Application Support & Apple Mobile Device Support. Reboot. Restore the pre-upgrade version of your library database as per the diagram below, then install iTunes 10.7.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to scan the media folder and catch up with any changes made since the backup file was created.

HT1751 I've read at least ten articles and I still have some unanswered questions. 1. How do you get several libraries on an external disk back into one spot on Itunes? Will it take up space on the Mac osx that I have very little space on?

I have several itunes libraries after moving them and losing them, and recreating new ones. How do I get them all back together? I have a Macboook Pro OSX 10.6. My newest library is currently being directed to an external drive. I have files that I moved around improperly and don't know where they all go now. I'm pretty good with it all if someone can explain. Nothing I've read explains how to find your lost libraries on an external drive and put them into one place.
If you have it on an external drive and do not have the space on the hard drive can you still do the library/organize/consolidate feature and have files available without the external drive attatched? I just don't know how I will get all the files into itunes without taking up a bunch of space.

I'm confused as to why you would need or even want multiple iTunes libraries... but that's not really relevant.
It certainly is possible to have the iTunes library reside entirely on an external drive.
The organize/consolidate feature will work with an external drive but the drive must be connected. How would you expect this to work without the drive connected? iTunes cannot magically move files to consolodate them on a drive that's not connected.
I"m not really certain what you mean by "get them all back together". iTunes libraries are not "together". If you've got multiple libraries they are seperate...there is simply no other way to make that happen.
Realistically, if this hasn't helped, it's going to be up to you to explain why you have/need multiple iTunes libaries so that we can offer specific details on how to resolve the issue and possibly a better solution.

This question has to do with how to restore your computer drive if you backed up the computer to an external drive. Did you use backup software or did you just copy the data from the old computer to the new computer? If you just copied, then you need to just copy over the Music folder which should contain the iTunes folder.
