The fan on my macbook pro is constantly operating. how can i get it to turn off.

You can't completely disable the fan(s). They always run, even when your computer is idle. Now if the fans are racing (6,000rpm+) and your temperatures aren't soaring when this is happening you may have a problem with this sensors.

But, after I release my hand from the magic mouse (wireless) the screen shifts either to the right or left with no ryhym or reason.
I wonder if some good intentional nerd at Adobe thought, wow, I'll make it so the artwork will always be centered like "responsive design."
I am really hoping that's not the case. I have been using the app daily since 1987 and just recently upgraded to CS6.
I guess I could go back to CS3.
At least I won't feel like the earth is moving underneath me evrytime I click on an object.

There are two Office versions: Office for Windows, and Office for Mac.
I suspect that you have downloaded Office for Windows, and you can use it if you install Windows, but a cheaper and easiest way to use Office is to use Office for Mac, so you won't have to install Windows. See > http://www.microsoft.com/mac

Another issue related with this is that during the time that I tried out Mobile me, I had my ical alarm set to go off every 2 hours. NOW my computer has an ical pop-up every 2 hours. I cannot find how to stop it.
Another issue, Yahoo is trying to sync with my computer and I have no idea why or where that one came from.

How do I get the page to stop moving up and down so much?

Re: Pages - Please tell me how I can keep the page from moving up and down so much. It's irritating. The page I'm writing on wants to bounce several times before it finally stops...like when you move the cursor, sometimes the page bounces. Thanks for any help you can give.

1. No matter what mouse you have, you will get a "bounce" if you bang into the limit. If you scroll gently into the limit and then back off, you will not see the same effect, or at least not the same degree. Check to see if your tracking speeds are similar with the two pointing devices. I think this will have more influence than whether the device is wireless or not.
2. If you don't want anything to change in Mail when you boot up, I think you should just leave it open when you Shut Down the computer. With Lion, your Mail app should come back in the same state as when you Shut Down.

How do I get the brush to stop snapping to the edges?

I use Photoshop 7.0.
Whenever I'm working on a sketch using the brush tool, sometimes my work will go all the way to the very edges. Then, the brush will just automatically snap to the edge where I don't want it to go. This is especially annoying when I'm making some kind of curve very close to the edge, but dont want it touching it.

One way is to hold down the Ctrl key when you get near the edges.
Another way is to go to the View menu and uncheck Snap.

How do I get the beeping to stop when playing in the Timeline?

This is probably one of the most elementary questions, but for some reason I can't seem to figure out - or find in the documentation - how to get FCE to stop beeping when I play something assembled in the timeline.
In other programs I've tried (Adobe Premiere Pro for example), you hit the space bar and it plays - with audio in-tact and in sync. Here, I hear a steady beep.
Doing some research, I found that this might have something to do with unrendered audio; the problem is, every time I try to render audio with this program, as soon as it finishes it locks up BEFORE the audio file is written to the disc. And I've let it sit for over five hours - nothing.
Any help anyone could provide would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the reply Max. The original video came from a DVD which I ripped via HandBrake. I then, after three days of googling and finally getting an answer from some one on this forum, re-exported the resulting MPEG4 into a DV format file through MPEG Streamclip.
After reading that it needs to be in 48k format, I re-exported from MPEG Streamclip and this time, hit the option for "Resample to 48k". I brought it back into FCE and put it on the timeline, but still needed to render.
This time, I watched the folder the render sequence file went into. As soon as it finished, the render file DISSAPEARED. I'm assuming it was moved or deleted but I don't know where it could have been moved to.
Trying to use anything in the FCE interface now results in the application locking up. I can't exit it or use it at all - it's force quit or let it sit (which as I said, I've let it sit for 5+ hours earlier).
Prior to starting that render, I set the permissions on the folder ~/Documents/Final Cut Express Documents/ to read and write using Finder and applied it recursively (to all sub-folders). So there aren't any permissions problems.
Honestly, I want my money back for this program. This is unacceptable. Any Apple technicians want to give a crack at this?
