How do I get the hyperlinks in my emails to open in firefox?

I'm using the email programme on my macbook pro and until a few days ago I was able to click on links in the emails and they would open automatically in firefox. Now they open firefox but not the link itself. I've tried resetting firefox but no change. It works fine when I set safari as my default browser.

I want to make a program by which I will be able to display a panel/pops up menu at the corsor's current position, (In any text/doc file or in the desktop, we can display a menu by right click of the mouse.) Now I want my program to do the same task.
More clearly-
1. First I would save some words or sentences in a file(aa.txt).
2. Then I would open another text file/ a word/ excel/ or any other editor( bb.txt / cc.doc / dd.xls / ee.html ).
3. While editing or writing something in the opened file, if I click the right mouse button/ press a key (ctrl+space), a menu will appear containing the sentences I saved in the file(aa.txt) previously.
My program will tell me the cursor's position in bb.txt / cc.doc / dd.xls / ee.html that i opened. And display a menu. my problem is not reading / writing in a file.
My problem is how can I get the cursor's position in a opened file display a menu at that position by a mouse/key action*.
Would you please help me on this regard.

In a given application, i am able to get the list of components for the main window. When an event happens in the main window, now a new window opens here how do i get the components for this newly opened window?

getContentPane().getComponents() can be used, only if i know that new class name thats been poped up when the event happens to that main window....
Is there anyway in runtime to know that new class name & fetch the event...

Stripping off the user name will give you the domain of from field in the message. This is not the same as the host. Take a look at:

Before I upgraded my MBP to Mavericks, the Save As dialog box would reopen at the same size and position as it was when last closed. Now with Mavericks it always opens in the same position at a very small size. Is there a way to make it reopen at the last place and size at which it was closed?

I have resolved the issues presented without having to find and uninstall the Macromedia Flash Player 8.0 in order to get "Adobe Flash Player 10" playback of .swf files on my computer. When I begin this task, I expected to download an "Adobe Flash Player 10" as a player program download instead of the Internet Explorer and Firefox plugin that it appears to be.
This is what I did and what I believe I have:
1. I setup Internet Explorer 6 as my default browser and then used the following site to download Adobe Flash Player 10

2. As I had done before (and also suggested in another thread here), I went to Tools/Manage Add Ons and found Shockwave Flash Object, highlighted it, and clicked on Update Active X. Next, what I did not do before, I restarted the computer immediately after that.
3. Next, I set Mozilla Firefox as my default browser and then used the above site to download Adobe Flash Player 10 again.
4. With Firefox, the critical step included Firefox Tools/Options/Content with File Types (Configure how Firefox handles certain types of files) and the Manage Tab there. SWF Shockware Flash Object/Change Action/and dotting "use this plugin" - Shockwave Flash, followed by a computer restart got the job done.
Now, if I want playback of a .swf file, I can
a. Open With Internet Explorer (assumed with the Adobe Flash 10 "plugin")
b. Open With Mozilla Firefox (assumed with the Adobe Flash 10 "plugin")
c. Open With Macromedia Flash Player 8.0
I am satisfied with those results for my use. Any additional comments on the player vs plugin aspect of the matter would be interesting and helpful.

Recipient of my emails cannot open links included in my emails because the link appears as part of the text. They have to copy and paste the link on their end. How can I get the links in my email to appear as a link they can just click on?

Just above the textarea that you use to enter the message text on the "Compose New Mail page" there is usually a button bar with buttons to add text formatting like Bold and Italic. 
That toolbar may also have a button to turn a text link into a clickable hyperlink (look for a chain like button). 
You can select the text and click that button to turn the link into a clickable hyperlink. 
If you can't find the button then hover them all to check the tooltip of each (e.g. Insert hyperlink).

How do I get the preview back on email (right hand column)?

Viewing email- preview has disappeared. . I have used Mac Email for years. Suddenly, the third panel on the right of the page is gone. I used to have a visual preview and could see the complete message without clicking on it. As Barney says (thanks Barney) - hover the mouse in the area shwon on the image and you get a little left-facing arrow to drag and reveal the third panel. It's a bit fiddly, took me a couple of goes, but it does reveal the panel that's missing.

I am sure that the old version of Firefox, you could click on a link and it would open in another tab, I have looked at Google as well, and I can't see if it was a google option.

How do you get the indicator that marks emails as "read" to work properly?

Every time a new email comes in it's never marked as unread. The computer is on a wired network in an office where no other Mac users have this problem. The usual diagnostics have been performed and the computer seems normal in all other operations. Any ideas? The office geeks are stumped as well.

There's an option in Mail > Preferences > viewing tab > check "Display unread messages with bold font".

How do I get the new version of Picasa to open?

I have an older version Mac (10.5.8). I recently updated my Picasa application, & now it won't open. A window pops up saying "the application quit unexpectedly" & then it prompts me to "Relaunch" but every time I have done that, it still won't open. I have tried deleting & then downloading Picasa again, still the same problem! What am I doing wrong? I don't know much about computers so I am very lost & very frustrated.

How do I enlarge the font in my email program when using Firefox?

I started using Firefox with my new computer two months ago. The font size in my webmail (Frontier--affiliated with Yahoo) was very small and just got smaller a few days ago. It is LESS than 8 -- it looks like legal notices type in the newspaper --barely readable. I have Windows 7 display setting at 120% but changing this makes NO difference in the email lists. The font is still a "normal", readable size in IE but I much prefer Firefox! I have done a live chat with Frontier support and they insist nothing has changed in the webmail program.

How can I get the default value of a particular preference in FireFox?.
I know I can see the default value for some of the preferences in about:config but, I need a programatic way to get the default value.
I see some that there are values for preferences in firefox.cs but I am not certain that these are being used as the default values for preferences. prefs.js in user's profile only has the updated values and not the default values.
Any help towards acheiving this programtically is greatly appreciated.
