How do i sync with the music in itunes and not replace the music i presently have on my iphone 4S? I just purchase more music and dont want to lose it.
Your phone connected, iTunes running, without syncing: File>Transfer Purchases. This will put the purchased content, on your phone, in your iTunes library.

All I can say is make sure you have the same account name on the computer like before, even if you have to create a new user under System Preferences>accounts, then log into your itunes account with that and try to reverse sync from the iPhone like you would normally.
Apple doesn't expect one to go backwards, so they are not all that friendly, you may have to ask around on MacRumors for third party software that can reverse sync from iOS devices.

The only way to synchronize is connecting to FaceBook. I just set up my girl friend's iPhone to connect with FaceBook, which then updated the phone's level; then I downloaded the app (again) on her iPad and selected connect to Facebook. I'm not sure what the downfall of synchronizing through FaceBook is.... all I can tell you is it worked and now her iPad shows the same level as her iPhone. Good luck!

There is no download as such. When you purchase QT 7 Pro, you are just purchasing a registration key that "unlocks" the QT 7 "Pro" editing features already built into the QT 7 Player but not activated without the key. Since you are listed as using the Lion OS, you need to check your "Applications > Utilities" folder to see if QT 7 is already installed there.
If it is, then you will need to open the app, open the "Registration..." window under the "QuickTime Player 7" Menu and enter the "Registered To:" and "Registration code:" entries to activate the "Pro" features. Be sure to follow the instructions found on the web page I will post below.
If it is not already installed in the "Applications > Utilities" folder, then you will have to first download and install the special QT 7 Player v7.6.6 software found on the download page which is linked to the web page containing both installation and registration instructions which is included below.

It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer files/docs/pics/music/etc.
Certainly you did not restore your computer without making sure that your backup copy was up to date.
If for some reason you have failed to maintain a backup ( not good), then you can transfer itunes purchases from an ipod: File>Transfer Purchases -

i changed my primary email,and now when i go to buy itune songs,my old email keeps coming up,how do i get my old email off of the phone
The only thing I did was I went to the Apple.com , logged in and changed my primary e-mail since I will be losing the old email soon ( I have a different job). I said update info and verified the email was correct. I just went to settings on icloud and logged out and tried to log in and now it won't take anything. I don't even know now which e-mail they want the primary one or recovery, it won't take any of the 3. Not sure what else to try at this point, I guess I can't buy any more music.

Which drive should be used for what? I see an I-Drive and an J-Drive.
I saved some photos from an email attachment sent to my phone and I see those went to the I-Drive ... on the J Drive I see a folder called MEDIA so I dropped a file in there to test it and I see that is an SD card. Is each one for something specific? i.e. photos to the i-drive, video to the j-drive (sd card) or vice versa or doesn't it matter?
Also I dropped an music album into the MP3 folder on the I-Drive which is where a few random music albums that came with the player were located, but when I go to the MUSIC app on the droid, I only see the random albums, not the newly dropped album from my own collection.
I just want to also be clear, is there another "media manager" program that will make all this easier but not cost me a monthly fee, which I think is ridiculous?

I am trying to sync a iPhone 3GS (I have 4 phones on my account) and I haven't sync'd it since October? (It's my brother's phone and he doesn't use a lot of the features and wasn't willing to give it up for me to do so) anyway, I have over the years had to get new phones (replacements and such from Apple) so when I plugged this in it ONLY gave me the option of my phone number. There was a list of other "Andrea's iPhone" but if I click on them the phone number still doesn't change to the one that matches his phone! Hence I am scared to death that my entire phone is going to load on to his and I have the 4S! I have NO idea how to fix it what to do. Do I set it up as a new phone? I mean how do I back it up and get the new software on it and everything? Any and ALL help appreciated! Will be grateful for anyone who is wiilin to answer me !!! Thanks

<Email Edited By Host>I think I have this posted in the wrong area, but don't know how to change it. I figured out how to download songs to my playlist in Itunes 12.1. It seems that it does not work unless I delete the songs from my library first so they are only available on icloud. Then I move the songs to the playlist. After I am done adding the songs to the playlist, I press the cloud next to the playlist and the songs are downloaded to my iphone. If I press sync first, I end up with the old playlist back on my computer minus the deletions and new songs.
I am now having problems getting my new purchases to transfer to my library. If anyone knows how to get Itunes 12.1 to do this automatically, please let me know. -
How do i get the songs i purchased off of my phone back onto it after restoring it?
i had to get a new iphone4, before going to the store i updated and saved all my stuff onto my computer. i came home to restore it, none of my songs were on my phone. i got my songs back onto my phone after i plugged it in again. now, none of the songs i purchased from my phone on the first iphone are there. and if i try to download a song that i already purchased from my phone, it wont let me get it because "i have already downloaded this item." how do i get them back on to my phone?!

Do you mean that they show in your purchase history in iTunes?
It sounds like you did not "Transfer purchases" when you synced your iPhone. And as such, it's highly unlikely they were ever on your computer.
The iPhone is not a storage device. It is intended that all purchases be transfered to your computer for backup on a regular basis. Then as an added measure, create a backup of your iTunes library to an external drive, CD/DVD's, or flash drives in the event something happens to your computer.
It is ultimately up to the user to ensure that their media and files are backed up. -

I REALLY NEED TO GET THIS 1000 PICS !!!Relying on icloud's backup for pictures has been a big problem for many users. Never rely solely on icloud for storage of your pix. If the backup doesn't have those photos, then they are lost.

Use the side control and make sure your phone isn't on mute, flip the switch up.

I'm not sure what I did but I beleive that most of my music is in iCloud but when the songs show up on my phone they are all in light gray letters. They also won't play when I want to go through my playlist. Only the ones in bold black letters will play. Help!
there are a number of ways that this happens.
one way depends on how you add music to your phone.
if you restored you phone from a backup recently
what i would first try to do is connecting my phone to my computer, remove all the music, and then put it back on. depending on how much music you have that might take 20 min
