Then, I "upgraded" {as you, LAUGHINGLY, claim} to your Firefox 4 version after being promised by you that it's BETTER and, supposedly, an IMPROVEMENT over the older version. After I installed the NEW one ~ IT TURNED OFF ALL MY PREVIOUS PLUGINS!!! Your WISHTHEYWUZ "PROGRAMMERS", very cleverly {and, actually, HATEFULLY} ummmm, kinda "forgot" to make the new browser BACKWARD-COMPATIBLE so that it didn't DESTROY everything we, already, had ~ that WORKED before YOU got hold of it!!! So, now, *HOW* do I get the OLDER version back??? I think you should KNOW what you can do with this newer "UPGRADE" that is, actually, a LIE!!! UPGRADES do NOT take you in REVERSE ~ making things WORSE ~ real upgrades make things BETTER!!! DUH-H-H-H!!!

I, recently, purchased a new HP 4500 Printer and it came with a video-capture extension/plugin. Attempting to use it, the program informed me that I needed to be using, either, an EI or a Firefox Browser mentioning version 1.5 {I think it was} or later. The Firefox browser I was using was 3.something; so, everything was going along FINE. When I installed the video capture program, it added the plugin to the browser ~ PERFECTLY!!! I, also, had MANY other plugins that worked and that I used somewhat regularly!!! NOT ANY MORE!!! YOU and your TOTALLY INEPT, WISHTHEYWUZ "PROGRAMMERS" have STOLEN nearly HALF of my COMPUTER!!! I can, no longer, USE ANY OF THOSE PLUGINS, simply, because YOU "forgot" {let's say} to INCLUDE them in your new browser version 4. WHAT WAS WRONG WITH THEM??? WHY DIDN'T *YOU* WANT ME TO BE ABLE TO USE THEM, ANY LONGER???
Apparently, YOU think that the computer world revolves around YOU and that YOU are its AXIS!!! You feel that YOU have NO RESPONSIBILITY to make YOUR programs in any way compatible with what is, already, available ~ according to the "advice" I noticed on one of YOUR pages WHILE REACHING THIS ONE, you said that everybody else must accommodate YOUR claimed "improvements" that do nothing but DESTROY!!!
All I want is for YOU to, either, MAKE YOUR VERSION 4 COMPATIBLE; or, advise me on HOW to get the EARLIER version back that *IS* compatible. Otherwise, I'll switch to a different browser and advise all others over whom I have any influence to do the same for the sake of their overall computering enjoyment!!!

Restore the backup before you installed.
If you didn't make a backup, at very minimum make sure your Music library isn't compromised by locating the folder you selected the music to be in (usually in Users -> yourname -> Music) and make sure there are several MB of data there by clicking once on the folder, and selecting Get Info from the File menu in the Finder.
If you can't find it, try to locate parts of track names with Find Any File.

then determine which parent file of the .mp3 or .mpa files you have contains all of the music files by getting info under each previous folder in the folder tree.
Once you determine which folder contains all your music, back it up using the Finder, or backup the entire hard drive using cloning software at least to two different drives or two complete copies on DVDs:

You'll then want to erase and install 10.6 from the system installer you used to put 10.6 on your Mac, and run the combo 10.6.8 updater and apply the necessary security updates:

Then you can install older versions of iTunes for the Mac from here, once you determine which version is compatible with 10.6.8 that you liked before by first checking which version is compatible with what you need:

When I try to open FF4 I get the message it can't be opened because it is not supported on my architecture. I can't believe no-one else has had this problem. You must have a lot of internet duffers who don't really know what they're doing. I need to get my old version of FF back if I'm going to run it on my computer. Updated FireFox and now the SEARCH page opens with AVG browser. Have uninstalled and then reinstalled FireFox but still get AVG as the browser.

Try the first method initially. The second method may not be applicable in your circumstances, and involves direct editing of the registry, something to be avoided unless there is no alternative.

Google "old apps itunes" and you'll find a site with downloads of earlier versions. At first, you'll be told that iTunes can't access your music library because it's a newer version, but you can get around that by dragging the music data file onto iTunes. There's also a tutorial on YouTube that explains pretty clearly how to go back to older versions of iTunes.

I have an Iphone 4 on the latest IOS 5 and latest 2.3 remote control app as I use Itunes 10 to manage the phone. Since version 10 of Itunes the airport express output has been degraded with a digital volume control so I refuse to use version 10 for my lossless audio. I specifically purchased the AE knowing that I would have pefect lossless digital audio to pass on to my high end music system (I understand that turning the volume to the maximum should have the same result but to me it just does not sound as good as with itunes 9). This step back with version 10 of Itunes has made me determined to stay with Itunes 9.2.1 Now I find that the upgraded version of the remote control app will not pair with or control a 9.2.1 library. Does anyone have a solution that does not involve using Itunes 10 to stream my audio under the control of the Iphone. I would dearly love to just go back to an older version of the iphone app but again how can that be done? Or better still have the option in Itunes 10 to have garanteed bit perfect output to airport devices as many people would really appreciate this as true lossless audio is essential for many serious music lovers.

Strangely enough the pref file did not show up in the Preferences folder. I don't know what this means but it could be signifigant.

Firefox is highly customizable and you may be able to customize it to meet your needs.
If you do not like the new UI, you can make Firefox 4 look and behave more like Firefox 3.6, for details see http://www.computertechtips.net/64/make-firefox-4-look-like-ff-3-6
To downgrade to Firefox 3.6 first uninstall Firefox 4, but do not select the option to "Remove my Firefox personal data". If you select that option it will delete your bookmarks, passwords and other user data.
You can then install the latest version of Firefox 3.6 available from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html - it will automatically use your current bookmarks, passwords etc.
To avoid possible problems with downgrading, I recommend going to your profile folder and deleting the following files if they exist - extensions.cache, extensions.rdf, extensions.ini, extensions.sqlite and localstore.rdf. Deleting these files will force Firefox to rebuild the list of installed extensions, checking their compatibility, and reset toolbar customizations.

Does anyone know how i can get the older versions of the ipod software on my nano because my nano had a feature that when i held down the menu button for a couple of seconds, the backlight turned on.......well ever since i downloaded the most recent software, everytime i hold down the menu button, it goes directly to the menu(which im not very enthusiastic about). Lost my Itunes Library... how can I put the older one back on?

Okay well i started iTunes and it asked me to load my library ... so i just did one but it was an older one that had like only 100 songs... now i lost my really big one with over thousands of songs and playlist...i cant even connect my ipod because it will delete everything..

I store all my music in an external HD and when i dont have it hooked up iTunes displays everything with a question mark ... but thats normal ... so when i do connect the HD i have to go in my preferences and change the iTunes folder to my external HD. then everything is back...
But right now im so mad at this stupid iTunes because i lost all my plays!!!! its nice to see songs u played 50 times and others 30 and then you make playlsit called "TOP 50 rock" etc... now its all gone... anyway i can get this back?
