Did you register it with Apple? If not, you would have had to write it down. Once the device goes out of wifi or if the thief turns wifi off...its gone. All they have to do is restore it as new, you wont be able to detect it again. Sounds bleak I know but its hard to get it back once its gone...no matter what Apple says.

Is there any place to find the original serial number other than "the sheet in the box". My original is v 1.1 (now running 2.x) & I'm double stuck - trying to migrate to a new PowerBook and upgrade to 3.0 - both tasks needing the original serial number. There is no serial number and you don't need one. What you need for a subscription is to SIGN IN within Acrobat, so it knows the subscriptions you own.

Purchases from the App Store do not include serial numbers. The App Store itself provides the licensing for the product. You will have to contact Apple to have them help you reinstall Lightroom through the App store (just because it is no longer for sale does not mean that you will not be able to download your past purchases).

Start by using your web browser to go to creative.adobe.com. Log in there with your Adobe ID.
There is no serial number for subscriptions. You use your Adobe ID. Then there are options to download applications.

Thanks for replying, Jim. I wasn't planning to use it for raw images. I shoot film, black and white, and have many negatives I want to print. I am unfamiliar with the upgrades in Lightroom. I wasn't unhappy with the version I have. It was useful for my purposes.
Because it was a few years ago, I don't remember if I registered the product. I was able to login to my account. But could not find a path to communicate with Adobe. I will keep trying.
