It plays a happy little tune, but gets old fast. Please help!

When you're looking at the PDF that's on your site, is it opened in the browser or directly i Acrobat/Reader? If in the borwser, do you know if it's being viewed in the browser's default PDF viewer or Acrobat/Reader? It probably won't work in non-Adobe PDF viewers.
Are you saying that when you click the link that two new browser tabs are opened with the same URL, instead of just one as you'd expect, or something else?

Firefox update 23.0.1, no longer automatically highlights the address bar content when I open a new tab.

The above. When I opened a new tab in the past, before the new update, firefox would automatically highlight the text in the address bar, and I could simply start typing from there the address of the site I wanted. I could quickly get to anywhere I wanted in less than a second. Now, I have to drag and click into the address bar every time. I installed an add-on called "custom newtab" but it just slows me down further due to a lag between the opening of a new tab, and the add-on kicking in and highlighting the address bar content.
What happens is this:
Click "new tab"
New tab opens blank and the text appears highlighted "google.co.uk" for about a quarter second.
Page loads Google and the highlighted text becomes unhighlighted for another quarter second.
Add-on kicks in and highlights the text "google.co.uk" meanwhile I've already begun typing and end up losing the first part of the words, sending me to random web pages and searches.
Why did this change?! Fix it please!

Speedy machine this one :P Yep, that change completely sorted the issue, just opened about 741 new tabs through the shortcut on my mouse just to celebrate. In the prior Firefox version when I opened a new tab there would be thumbnails on the blank page below tabs of web sites that I frequented- now the screen is just blank- is there a way to see the thumbnails below again?

In the prior version of Firefox before I was encouraged to download the newest version... when I would open a new tab: on the blank page below would appear thumbnail versions of web sites I had frequented which was awesome to return to sites without even going to bookmarks. Okay. So I recently downloaded something that made my new tab into a Bing thing. That's not very descriptive, so... Basically when I used to open a tab, it would just be a blank, white page. But after downloading Gimp 2, an editing software, it also downloaded a Bing search thing every time I open a new tab, even when I clicked for it not to do that. So how do I get my new tab back to being just a blank page?

I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that you've got a custom timecode field somewhere in your production and/or asset metadata group(s), right? And I'm going to further guess that this timecode field has dashes in it like this --:--:--:--, right? If so, try this: Click the arrow next to the timecode field and adjust the timecode so that it has a number (it doesn't matter what the number is as long it's not dashes - "00:00:00:00" is fine). Then Save this asset, close it and then reopen it and see if the beeping madness has vanished. Then, to make this change permanent for all of your new assets, make sure to edit the default value of any custom timecode fields to put zeros (or some other numeric default value) into them when a new asset is generated. If the asset still beeps when you open it, check the other metadata groups in your set to see if there isn't another empty timecode field lurking in the shadows.

New tabs used to open up with the same home page I use when I open firefox but now all tabs open up with something different and I can't find where to change that.

New tabs in Firefox have always been a blank page by default, but there are many different add-ons that can change that action to a specific web page.
This is probably the simplest add0on to do that, but first you need to figure which add-0n changed it from a blank page and get rid of that add-on.

Edge Animate uses requestAnimationFrame API for animations.
When focus is out of a tab there is no repaint and requestANimationFrame does not call a function to update animation.Thus you see the pause in animations.
Not sure if there is any way to over come this.
