How do I get the videos on msnbc to play. I get a message that says video will play not but sometime the audio will play . I thinking that I am overlooking something in the settings.
I have had the videos working in the past, and I am not trying to run flash. Problem surface when I rebooted the iPad.

Balance? Seriously? No serious person can say that hardcore lefties like Chris Matthews, Rachel Maddow, Larry O'Donnel and Rev. Al are balanced. They are opinion show masquerading as news programs. The public isn't fooled, and MSNBC's rating show it.
Anyway, the Fox News app is very good and always works with video, audio, and slide shows. Worth a look if you are seeking a mulitmedia news app.

In iMovie look in the Event Library. You should see an Event named "iPhoto Videos" (assuming the videos are compatible with iMovie).
Each time you open iMovie it will look for any new videos in iPhoto and place thumbnails in the iPhoto Videos Event. You will be given a choice as to whether you want the thumbnails generated now or later. The thumbnails will appear in chronological (date) order in the Event window. Note that the clips themselves are not actually imported to iMovie - they are simply referenced by iMovie (that is, iMovie points to the clips in iPhoto).
Drag clips (or parts of clips) to a project. To start a new project, select File > New Project from iMovie's menu.
Please ask if you need more advice. Otherwise, click on Help > iMovie Help in the menu. There you will find plenty of good information about how to use iMovie, including short video tutorials.

You can't. FCE doesn't support DVCPRO HD. You'd have to convert it to the Apple Intermedia Codec in some other sofware. FCE also probably doesn't support the frame resolution the P2 media is using.

Are you saying the the movie in iPhoto doesn't show a thumbnail or that it doesn't have a thumbnail in iMovie? If the latter then ask in the iMovie forum.

what do you see in the iPhoto window when viewing an Event containing the movie in question?

When the video finishes playing in an interactive PDF, it shows the last frame of the video. The last frame of your video is probably black.
There is no way to get the video window to disappear if it's embedded in the page, sorry. You could change the last frame to white, however.

Try deleting the problematic file (electing to remove original file if/when prompted) and then re-downloading the file from the iTunes store.
You can re-download content purchased from the iTunes store (availability varies depending on location) using the purchased option from the Quick Links section in the top right corner of the iTunes homepage in your iTunes application on your computer.

I would first review the information here:
I don't see any photos in the My Photo Stream view of iPhoto or Aperture.
Make sure your Mac has an active Wi-Fi or Ethernet connection. If you can't connect to the Internet, updates to My Photo Stream won't appear in iPhoto or Aperture. You can use these steps to troubleshoot your Internet connection on your Mac.
From your Mac, choose System Preferences > iCloud.
Make sure that the Photo Stream checkbox is selected and you're signed in to the same iCloud account that you're using on your other supported devices.
Open iPhoto or Aperture, then choose Preferences > iCloud (or Photo Stream).
If you're using iPhoto 9.4 or later or Aperture 3.4 or later, make sure that My Photo Stream is selected. If you want all new photos that you upload to your iPhoto or Aperture library to upload to My Photo Stream, select Automatic Upload.
If you're using iPhoto 9.2.2 through 9.3.2, or Aperture 3.2.3 through 3.3.2, select Enable Photo Stream and Automatic Import.

Confirm that you wish to Delete Photos.
Turn My Photo Stream back on. iCloud will automatically push your stored photos to your device.
Repeat these steps for each device.

If you have iMovie it can import video from most camcorders, but not all.   It comes with every Mac Pro.    If you need to restore it from the original installer discs, these are the directions:

Typically iMovie can import if you connect via IEEE 1394 or USB.   IEEE 1394 comes in three flavors:
4 pin (typical for many camcorders), 6 pin (known as bus powered Firewire 400), 9 pin (known as Firewire 800 or 1394b).   Cables exist to connect each type of Firewire to each other. Locate your Camcorder directions on Sony's website to determine what pinout exists if you don't have the manual.
Double check on Sony's website there isn't a firmware update for compatibility with your operating system.
Push comes to shove, you may have to install Windows on your Mac to connect the Camcorder.

I cannot get the video out to TV to work on my iPhone 3GS with iOS 5.1.1.
I am using the $40.00 apple composite AV cables and nothing seems to work. With the cables connected to tv input nothing shows up in general settings for video out. Or anywhere else for that matter. I have tried many different TV's, sometimes I get audio but never never ever video . Does anyone else have this problem or better yet the answer?

But, i do know what was wrong now. The whole problem was the brand new $40.00 set of apple composite AV cables i just bought was no good. This afternoon i took a trip to the nearest apple retail outlet (30 miles away) with phone and cables in hand. And after doing a little head scratching of their own they decided to try another set of cables, and low and behold the darn thing worked like a charm.I was very impressed by the service at the apple store even though i didnt buy either product from them. I wonder if there is a bad batch of cables floating around out there because it looks like other people out there are having the same problem, which is why i didnt really suspect the cables. I just posted this on another discussion about the same topic:
I spoke with Apple today, and they explained how to fix it.
First, plug in the iPod. Highlight the ipod on left side of iTunes. Then go to 'Summary' and make sure the 'Manually Manage Music' is checked. If not, check it, then sync.
Then, drag and drop your playlist into the ipod. On the left side of the ipod name is an arrow. Click that, which will show 'Music' and your playlist. Right click the playlist, then hit 'Copy to Play Order'. This option will not be available if you haven't already checked the 'Manually Manage Music' in Settings.
THEN, hit sync, and disconnect/remove the ipod. When you turn on your ipod the music will still be out of order. You have to press and hold the voiceover button. The voice will list your options, starting with 'All Music', then the name of your playlist.
While you are hearing the name of your playlist, press play on the ipod, and it will play them in the correct order.
And there you have it.
