How do I get the voice-over in timeline to work.

I moved the "R" and "microphone" buttons to the audio track, nothing happens when I click the buttons (the "R" is suppose to turn red). My USB microphone appears in audio hardware and is selected in System Prefs. Using Premier Pro 8.1 on new MacPro

I don't believe there is such a thing on the Mac Pro (trash can), but I did finally get something to work with a not-very-instinctive combination of System Preferences (select USB mic), Audio MiDi Setup (select USB mic), and Premier Pro Preferences, Audio Hardware (DO NOT select the USB mic, but rather the System Default Input/Output). No other combination worked (I tried them all), and when I tried changing Audio MiDi settings while Premier Pro was running, I'd occasionally get the endless spinning wheel that required a re-start. Even with all this, one channel was peaked-out with noise (source?) which I couldn't eliminate with any settings (can do it in post, however). Overall a disappointing experience. I don't know why the Audio MiDi Setup has to be involved, or why this was so difficult with my set-up (I'm not ruling out user error).
Any further advice is more than welcome,

Thought I could simply import media but X has it greyed out.

Sharing with iTunes is OK, but it is likely to produce a file in MP3 or AAC, which can cause problems. You can create an AIFF version of an MP3 file in iTunes and use that.
To create an AIFF version, go to iTunes/Preferences and click the General Tab. Click the Import Settings button. Choose Import Using: AIFF Encoder. Then choose your track, and click FILE/CREATE AIFF Version. Use this in FCPX. Be sure to go back into iTunes Preferences and set the import options back to where you had it, so the next time you rip an CD it does not make an AIFF.

You can turn it on/off via System Preferences, Universal Access (older OS) or Accessibility (newer OS).
There will be also a keyboard shortcut for on/off toggle. Mine is command-F5.

How do I get the Adobe Motion Menu Templates to work . . .

Seems like a simple question. I downloaded my "Adobe Gift" and placed them in a new folder in the Library.
When I open an Encore 2.0 project these new menu templates do show up. But when import them in the project they appear but the motion is disabled (even when I preview it).
So, how do I get the motion to work in the motion menu templates?

How do you get the video out to TV to work on the iPhone 3GS

I cannot get the video out to TV to work on my iPhone 3GS with iOS 5.1.1.
I am using the $40.00 apple composite AV cables and nothing seems to work. With the cables connected to tv input nothing shows up in general settings for video out. Or anywhere else for that matter. I have tried many different TV's, sometimes I get audio but never never ever video . Does anyone else have this problem or better yet the answer?

But, i do know what was wrong now. The whole problem was the brand new $40.00 set of apple composite AV cables i just bought was no good. This afternoon i took a trip to the nearest apple retail outlet (30 miles away) with phone and cables in hand. And after doing a little head scratching of their own they decided to try another set of cables, and low and behold the darn thing worked like a charm.I was very impressed by the service at the apple store even though i didnt buy either product from them. I wonder if there is a bad batch of cables floating around out there because it looks like other people out there are having the same problem, which is why i didnt really suspect the cables. How can I get the Voice memo's source computer file to keep the original file name?

I ran out of space in my iPhone some weeks ago and I've been cleaning up. I am pretty much done deleting the photos and apps. The only thing I need to finish is erasing my voice memos. I already synced my music/voice memos with my computer, the only problem is that when I get the files from the iTunes media it changes the name and makes it extremely hard to organize. I want to upload this files to another website so I can access them freely.
I would REALLY appreciated if anyone could tell me how to fix this or if you have another method please tell me.

This is pretty straightforward.
If the file isn't too big you can just read the entire file contents:
set fileContents to read file "HD:path:to:the:file.txt"
Once you've read it in, you can iterate through it with a repeat loop like:
repeat with eachParagraph in (paragraphs of fileContents)
-- code here to process each line
end repeat
Within the loop, eachParagraph represents each successive line in the file, so all you need to do is pull out the data you want. Now your subject says that your file is tab-delimited, but your example uses commas, so you may need to adjust this script depending on what's actually the case:
set my text item delimiters to tab -- or "," as appropriate
set firstName to text item 1 of eachParagraph
set lastName to text item 2 of eachParagraph
set emailAddr to last text item of eachParagraph
-- rest of code here to send an email
The last thing to do is to reset the 'text item delimiters' to their previous value so you don't end up getting confused.
So, putting that all together you end up with something like:

Note that this should work for reasonably-sized files (up to a few thousand records). If it's much more than that you may need something a little more sophisticated to read the file progressively rather than all at once.

Email it to yourself, then save the file and then see if you can convert it to MP3.

If what you are referring to is being able to use a Bluetooth headset for Google Maps voice navigation, then you're in for disappointment. Google Maps w/ Navigation is only available for Android devices at this point in time, although there are talks of Google allowing the service to be placed on Windows Phone 7. As for the WebOS lineup, your only options for voice navigation would be either Verizon's VZ Navigator or Spint's Sprint Navigation. Either of those would require that you had purchased the phone specifically from that provider, so no luck for you there.
Looks like we're all waiting on Google to step in for us at this point in time!
