How Do I Get This Patch To Work?

I'm struggling to get my iDVD 5 to be able to work on DVD projects over the 4.75 GB (2 hour) limit. I'm using an eMac G4 w/a LaCie external dual layer DVD burner on OS X 10.3.9. All the research I've done so far has led to this French patch at:

I followed their instructions but it doesn't seem to be working. Any additional tips? 'Bout ready to tear the hair out of my head!! My burner works fine with toast and othe apps such as iTunes, so I don't believe thats the problem. Is it that I need Tiger? Has anyone overcome this problem? With Panther? Help!!

You need Tiger (Mac OS X 10.4.x) in order get it works with your external DVD burner, because the French patch requires you to remove the LaCie burner Profile, but on Panther (10.3.x), you need this profile to work with external DVD burner. So, it conflicts with each other. On Tiger, this profile is not required.

Can you start Firefox in [[Safe mode]] ?
You can also do a clean reinstall and download a fresh Firefox copy from http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all.html and save the file to the desktop.
Uninstall your current Firefox version and remove the Firefox program folder before installing that copy of the Firefox installer.
It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
You can initially skip the step to create a new profile, that may not necessary for this issue.

When I use find file http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/30073/find-file (which does tend to find files that "Finder" can't), it's not coming up with any other itunes library files that have been modified in the past week, which I know it would have been - unfortunately, I don't have a very recent backup of the hard drive. It would be a few months old so it wouldn't have the complete library on it....any ideas? I'm wondering if restarting the computer might help but have been afraid to do so in case it would make it harder to recover anything...I was looking at this thread https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4211589?start=0&tstart=0 in the hopes that it might have a helpful suggestion but it's definitely a different scenario.

Your comment about what Netbeans forces, amused me. I am running Ubuntu as my OS and when I recently changed over (from Win.) I tried to like Netbeans again - after having previously spurned it. I write a lot of SSCCEs, and the Shortest way to write them is to leave out a package statement. Since I could not see a way to get around NB insistence on packages (which is probably a good thing, in the long run), and was too lazy to remember to remove the package statement before posting examples, I put NB aside again, ..and added some Tools to the generic Ubuntu text editor (Gedit) to compile, run applets, and invoke Ant on build files.

IDEs like Netbeans, Eclipse, JCreator and the like are fine tools and make some things very easy (refactoring code, drag'n'drop GUI development..), but to do that well, they require that the programmer understands both the (Java) code being churned out, and the intricacies of the IDE. What IDEs offer is not something I need often enough, to bother dealing with their intricacies.

So I'm working with S Linked Lists and theres an add(E object) method that we are creating.
So its supposed to first check-well at least at some point in the method- that the object being passed in is of the same type as my SLL. If its not im supposed to throw a new ClassCastException.
I tried this at the beginning of the method:

I have Photoshop Elements 10 and Windows 7. When I first installed Photoshop it worked fine, then after a month or so it wouldn't open.
Under Case # 0184148455 Adobe gave me the following instructions:
1. Navigate to C:\Program Files(x86)\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 10, right-click on PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe file and select Properties;
2. In Properties window, select Compatibility tab;
3. Check the option "Run this program in compatibility mode for: Windows XP Service Pack 3;
4. Check the option "Run this program as an administrator", then click OK;
5. The click on Windows Start button, type %programdata% and hit enter, In Program Data folder, open Adobe folder and rename Photoshop Elements folder to Photoshop Elementsold;
6. Then double-click on PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe file and check if you can launch Photoshop Elements 10.0
I followed these steps and lo! Photoshop opened.
That was about 6 weeks ago, now, today, again, Photoshop won't open.
I retraced the above steps and, after 5. I note there are now two folders, PhotoshopElements which contains two files: 10.0 6/9/13 and FileAgent, 6/9/13, and
PhotoshopElementsold which contains 10.0 3/17/13 and FileAgent 3/18/13 plus Catalogs 3/17/13 which is just an empty folder.

It worked! Thanks very much.

I would really like to view the following movie on my PC with Quicktime 7 and Windows XP Pro. I have even uninstalled and reinstalled Quicktime, but all I get is the faint Q with a question mark in it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    ALTER DATABASE [word] COLLATE

and now both databases have the same colaltion but I still get the error:

Cannot place a new Bookmark in Firefox 3.5.7 on my mac 10.5.8... how do I get this function to work?

On my G4 powerbook running 10.5.8 and Firefox 3.5.7 I cannot enter a new bookmark. I can access all bookmarks and edit but cannot add a new bookmark. Solution?
I would like to upgrade Firefox also but not sure what version of Firefox I can run on this computer.

A possible cause is a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.
