How do I get this programme to produce a working DVD?

iDVD produces working DVDs but for some reason I can't get DVDPro to. I know HD doesn't work on it. But I've got it set for SD, and yet it still doesn't produce anything that will work on an ordinary DVD player.
What are the basic settings that I have to have?

I the preferences etc. ticked correctly. But I'd pulled an HD template into one version and even though I removed that, for some reason the next version without any menu template still would not play.
I went into the system library, removed a file from there... the name of which escapes me now. And I can't find any DVD Pro setting there now!
Anyway, now it works. It was a problem to do with trying to use one the templates.
