How do I get this update to stop?

I tried to update my iPhone 5 to iOS 7 today, and the screen said to connect to iTunes. I did, and iTunes told me it was "an iPhone in recovery" and to sync it needed to be restored, so I went through the process on the computer. Right as the process ended, it told me on the computer, "iPhone not found." Yet my phone screen is stuck on connect to iTunes and will not open or turn on or off, but obviously it won't connect to iTunes. I just want to use my phone ASAP I dont care about the update anymore! Please help!

Are you using Windows?
If so, switch virus-scanner and firewall off and try again using recovery mode

Yes - I connected my phone to my computer / Itunes and went into the apps section, but from there I have no idea how to manage the push notifications. I even tryied going into itunes that is installed on my phone. I still cannot find anyplace to manage these popups. When the prompt pops up next time you start iPhoto select Learn more. Then click on iPhoto preferences and select the Accounts tab. Delete your MM account and the quit iPhoto. Next time you open iPhoto the problem should be eliminated.

One more quick thing first. Hold the SHIFT key this time as you startup and see if that gets you any further (this is called 'Safe Mode' by the way). I'm not too confident that this will work in your case but it's worth a try. If it boots up, go into Disk Utility and repair permissions.
If it doesn't, you're going to have to do an Archive & Install which will install a fresh copy of the OS over the top BUT keep all your users, files and apps in place.

Choose About this Mac from the Apple menu and check the processor.
If it's a Core Duo Mac, you must install the DVD version of iWork. If you previously got a compatible version of Numbers from the Mac App Store, go to its home page and click on Support under Quick Links.
If it's a Core 2 Duo or better Mac, try purchasing Mac OS X 10.8 from the Mac App Store. If you get told that it's incompatible, phone the online Apple Store and order a download code for 10.7.

OSX sometimes places 31 character limit on file names. How can I get this error to stop?

This error notice doesn't make sense, since many of my file names exceed 31 char. This error message pops up when saving documents, esp. web pages. As a consequence, OSX will refuse to let me save the file, until I shorten the name and so remove informative identifying features of the file name. But most of the time, OSX is perfectly happy to save files with names longer than 31 char. How can I get this error notice and block to turn off?

I have also seen this issue it occurs regularly when transferring word documents files from my Macbook Pro running OSX 10.5.8 to my iMac running 10.9.4.
My iMac HD should be formatted to factory standards as well since I have not mucked around with it since I bought it.

Okay, so I'm running a mid 2010 Macbook Pro that originally came with OS Snow Leopard. I upgraded to Mavericks last summer and I got all the the new Pages, Keynote, etc. The first thing I have to start out with is that I used to LOVE my Mac. I now hate it. It drives me crazier than a Windows operating system with this constant "a new version of... is available" reminder that comes up when I open Pages, or Keynote, or whatever. The problem is, whenever I go to the app store to "update it" so it will stop yelling at me, they are all in the incompatible list. It's really annoying because this OS slowed my machine to a slug pace, and all of these update notifications causes my machine to freeze. And what I can't wrap my head around is the fact that this operating system is the second newest and these update notifications have been occurring pretty much since the release of Yosemite (which I'm positive my machine could NOT handle). I just don't understand how things can be incompatible already. That's the reason why I had to leave Snow Leopard: things weren't compatible on it anymore. However, programs lasted a heck of a lot longer than they do on this OS! Can someone please tell me how to either shut off the automatic update retrieval system, or maybe a way to update them so they'll be quiet?

How do I get this app to stop coming on?

I don't use this software and it's a real bummer, when I mis-strike a key and it opens up.
Apparently the hot key is Command-Escape, and I just want to disable it, but once in the software I can not get to any preference pane.
Any suggestions appreciated.

In the "Keyboard Shortcuts" tab of the Keyboard & Mouse System Preferences, you can uncheck the option for "Hide and show Front Row". That should disable the keyboard command. You can still use the Apple remote to open it or double-click on the application in your /Applications/ folder.

It seems that every time I start up the IPad the banner over ITunes shows 8 or more in the banner. I have completly signed off of the ipad and it still comes up. Any suggestions? It seems to have coincided with IOS 7 being released, I have not downloaded IOS 7 to my IPad or my Iphone at this time.

I"m not sure exactly what to do because once I got mine sorted out I can't exactly replicate it to test it, but it's like somehow your ID gets messed up.
I tried to download an app, then Apple thought that I'd never bought anything from my device so went through the whole 'give your secret questions' thing and ended up having to call apple to get them to reset.
Long story short, the inability to update has something to do with the App Store not recognizing your device, even though part of it does recognize your device (which is why you get the little badges)
You could try downloading a free app and see if you can verify your ID. Or you can poke around in here

and see if you can manage your account and see if that helps.
